I don't like it when med students try to push pre-meds away from medicine because it "ruins" your 20s. It's not like you'll just be living the easy life by choosing another career path. You'd still be working long hours for many jobs and experience stress. I get that it's extremely difficult but I'm not a fan of this narrative that you'll just escape all stress and "dodge a bullet" by choosing against it. Life's what you make it. If you choose to believe that what you do in med school is a burden then it will be and you will hate every moment of it. But if you see it as a privelege and an opportunity to take on a great challenge and take it one step at a time, it won't have to be something to dread
I 100% agree with this. I acknowledge what will be the "risk factors" when I continue this path of becoming a physician, but it doesn't mean that "sacrificing" my 20s will be a lost cause. I don't want to avoid it just because my 20s will be full of the "presume burnout" surrounding it, because I genuinely want it, even if there are stresses along the way doesn't mean it'll be a disaster if I choose it. As long as I have confidence in what I choose, no matter what kinds of jobs/goals I take, it will never be ruining my life. That's why I don't appreciate it whenever someone discourages my choice of being a doctor. I don't want to avoid it just because it'll ruin my 20s. I want to choose it because it is something I choose and I believe that I can do it.
If someone says doing pre med/med school vigorously “ruins” your 20’s you shouldn’t be a doctor anyway. That’s so pathetic to go to a uni to get loaded. You should want to be in med school to help people so I don’t get it. Sad.
I lost so much time on med school but i know plenty of people who had relationships, partied and traveled while in med school. they were just more organized lol

At 58 looking backwards....what did I do in my 20’s.....wasted a lot of time. I love hearing about medical school and all your training. I went with business and while I am great at sales, I absolutely hate it! Thought about medicine but never had the confidence that I could really do it. So now...thinking about becoming a phlebotomists just to get to be around the whole medical community/atmosphere. Feels really silly at my age and with my life experience (I’ve been self-employed for 20 years). But...excited to try something new. Thanks for the window into your world.
You can do it! There’s also PSW from relatively short programs. Or even RPN, it’s two years in college (I’m in Canada, so maybe some job titles differ in US).

Rhonda Elle do it! I’m 48 and decided I want to apply to PA school after having been an entrepreneur since my early thirties. Since this April I’ve started and completed phlebotomy training and the EMT program. I’ll sit for the NREMT soon. Right now I’m completing EKG and medical assistant training with the goal of earning my patient care hours as an Emergency Medical Technician while working on my pre-reqs. The time will pass us by anyway. Also there’s something so satisfying in knowing in January this was all just a wish and now it’s a possibility. Best of luck!

Few simple revision tips for new medical students👍 Break up study schedules into 20 to 30 minute segments. Create a study timetable. Keep hardest topics for the morning. Create colorful notes and mind maps. Practice old exams and papers. Start assignments sooner rather than later. Get plenty of sleep.
How do you get plenty or good sleep. I can't just balance. Get bad home at least by 6pm. And 7:30am am on my way to school. So how do I balance my time from 6pm to 6am, any help . I don't stay with anyone so I have to cook , clean up and still look great. And to be very honest time management is my biggest biggest challenge . Any help from the veterans or senior colleagues

Honestly, sometimes some of my family members try to put me in a position of doubt on becoming a doctor because of how expensive and long the journey will be. Lucky for me, I love challenges and the thrill of the unknown.
It's a lot cheaper in India. I completed my undergraduation in less than $5000. Now I'm pursuing INTERNAL MEDICINE which will cost me under $30k.. interventional radiology is amazing. Wishing u bright future ahead.
I got emotional when you spoke about your wife. It is so sweet the way you refer to her. It reminds me of my partner and I, I plan on going to dental school next year (hoping I get in, cross your fingers🤣) and it is nice to know your partner will have your back through these hardships!❤️

Wake up at 5, take the disgusting subway, start pre-rounds with some serious attitude nurses, attending comes, he'll probably be condensing and make you feel like shit, lecture at noon, more rounds, then go home, probably eat out
Honestly, I feel the biggest problem with medicine is the tuition. Like even if you graduate with a 4.0 in the absolute highest paying pre med degree possible in something like electrical, software, or petroleum engineering, you legit have to work nonstop as an engineer only to spend 100% of that income paying off the debt while attending med school simultaneously to keep things moving at an adequate speed and to prevent debt from accumulating. I honestly like to think of medical school as "Breaking out of the cycle of poverty phase 2". Like instead of nonstop working a shitty 10$ an hour job to pay 50,000$ of tuition like in undergrad school, your working a 50$ an hour job to pay off 250,000$ in tuition, so its honestly no different than the first phase, since its the same useless ratio but with different numbers XD
This really opened my eyes I'm a pre-med student (freshman) and I'm hoping to finish my degree with in the next 2 years because I'm walking in with 61 credits and now since I'm going to a private school I should probably tranfer after my fall semester to save money. You should do a vedio on how you study in medical schools it should really help
These are great points; I'm really impressed by how objective and positive you manage to come across despite being at the end of your long arduous journey. Two things I never thought about before going into medicine was 1) the fact that the hospital runs 24/7 and that means doctors are always taking either 24 hour shifts or doing night shifts. Totally didn't think about this until I was a MS3 and doing my first 24 hour shift. Now that I'm at the end of residency, I'm not sure if this would've changed my mind about going into medicine but it is a reality to recognize. This is incorporated into many jobs for the rest of your career; 2) everyone has to go through residency and it sucks. It is a finite period of time but definitely much more defining and arduous than medical school. Thanks for the great content!
I agree with you 100% Though public medical school here in Nigeria isn't that expensive. Looking for something outside of medicine to keep my mind away from medicine is probably one of the most important things that helped me survive medical school. Not sure what residency would be like.
More of the same; even more demands because you are totally self motivating and self directed. Its all up to you at this point ; plus you will be working as well as studying for your fellowship examinations , compiling data for your thesis and doing procedures for your log book. You will have a little salary ,but inflation renders that almost non existent . its a great idea to have an outside interest that can be monetised

I wish more college students would stop getting bad information that they have to go to certain schools and spend certain amounts of money and just overall be wreck less with money when it comes to school and beyond. I'm going back to school and my goal is to do it debt free and to pay as I go. It is 100% possible because I am living within my means, applying to every scholarship available, saving money the year before to pay for the next payment as a lump sum and keep funding it year after year, and going to a school that is priced correctly. Where you go to school doesn't have as much weight anymore in the career job fields. It doesn't. What you learned and what you bring to the table matters most. If you spent 4 years at Yale learning theory and being book and test smart, compared to someone who went to community college and transfered to an in state 4 year and majored there. Which in their classes they did more labs and work study programs to shadow and do research in companies that apply to what they worked on in school. As an employer the hands on practical function of the job training and experience is far more valuable than a name of a school. This is the same for medical school. Some can help open doors but it's not guaranteed to let you in. Acceptance rates to residencies is all that matters after test score averages for the school. So many people are getting told incorrect things or told to not worry about it. You should worry about debt! Lol if you choose a specialty that doesn't make money you're in trouble. Compounding interest makes 200k into 500k in no time at all. Budgeting and financial classes need to be taught and mandatory for HS and college students. Buying a 70k BMW in med school isn't smart. With the loan you got and how much it truly costs over the 10 years you have the loan it becomes about 180k car. Med school loans are necessary but you can be smart about them and apply to schools that give more help and aid to you, and are able to live within what you are comfortable paying. This video needs to be shared everywhere. Debt is killing society and so many lives. Drop outs and people who don't have the true drive to do this kind of life just in turn hurt themselves. It's so sad to see, that they didn't have anyone tell them to stop and think for a moment before they possibly make a big mistake.
My med school actually has a whole workshop the week before school starts providing us resources and guidance on how to approach medical school: studying, test taking, note taking, stress and also time management. It’s actually very nice. I️ did not know about it when I️ chose them, but it made the decision even more satisfying.
I wish someone told me that good bedside manner was incredibly rare to see. I remember taking my first rounds with the team and witnessing how little care and compassion they displayed for patients, it was absolutely disheartening to see.
Dr Cellini........I am not in medicine but I have worked in the past with medical providers in the Psychiatric field. I did all the transcribing for all the physicians we had. Unfortunately, I lost that job due to funding with our local government. I love the medical field and only wished I would have been more serious about it way back in the day.....but I wasn’t the greatest student in certain subjects and those would have been required and then some! I applaud your honesty and keeping it real. Is Mrs. Cellini a med student? Bless her for helping you out. It’s a team effort...but also try to have fun too!
@@mike112693 A well paid veterinary specialist still makes the fraction of a human physician. And yes we also have orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, cardiologists, all the things. Specializing also takes years so in the meantime their loans are growing exponentially while they have to defer their loan payments because they get paid $30k a year to work 80+ hours/week.
Im actually studying med school in Geneva Switzerland ( which is 6 years ) and it costs 1000.- a year which I think it’s actually very cheap knowing the salaries opportunities that we get. Not criticizing or anything but I think our system is way more affordable et better organized.
I didn’t go to med school and some of the reasons were because was 27, thinking I was old for that and had to study and work extensively for such a long time and would make money only after more than a decade. I love studying, but well. Even though I admired the profession and the possibility of being able to help people in a very special way, I thought it was too much of a long shot. At 37, I’m not a doctor, working extensively hours in a job that I’m not passionate about, not making anything close to what a doctor makes, not able to help as much as I thought I would…and now having to admit that med school still is the way to go for me. Hold my hammer….

I watched this as I recall days from med school. This makes me a bit nostalgic actually. It was intense but over all I had a great med school experience back in the 2000s and have a lot of good memories. Definitely you need good friends to get you through it. I went to a state school. Definitely right on the money here about going to the cheapest school out there. I can't believe how expensive it's become. Also, i cannot fathom med school during covid. Must have been crazy. I was single during med school and got married later. I can see the benefits both ways.

I’m in the same boat. Have a Bachelor of Science (physics/electronics), just turned 28. But here in Canada, PA’s aren’t that well represented, so I want to try MD route :) i hope i can do it. It’s never too late!

Given that med school is extremely expensive to attend and most people have to take out loans, like you said in the video it really at the end of the day makes no difference wether you go to a private elite medical school versus a simple much cheaper in state option. then you said expect for obviously like big elite names such as Harvard or Cornell or something like that. Since the medical education is basically the same at every medical school, would you say attending a in state med school which is $16,000/year is more worth it because you would obviously be able to pay off those loans faster than say a $300,000 medical education? I have heard from some med students like oh don’t worry about the debt because that private medical school is going to provide you with way more opportunities, such as early clinics rotations in second year or more well-known faculty. I understand that people want to go to a prestigious school but honestly as a pre med with no prior medical experience, even if you want to say go into competitive specialities such as plastic surgery or neurosurgery or radiology, at the end of the day you can get into a great residency while going to an in state medical school. I was just curious more about your opinion on this because it seems like there is so much pressure to attend the most prestigious well known school as possible.
That is why I choose Biochemistry over medicine. I believe I can help people more effectively a scientist, doing all of the work behind the scenes. Rather than being a doctor who is always preoccupied with patients. Personally, I can't imagine dealing with sick people everyday back to back, sleep interrupted by emergencies.

What about when you are the one that does all the cleaning , cooking, laundry , work and student, even the one that does all the paperwork like payments, taxes etc ????
*Do you know why dental students dont do a normal med degree w/rounds, placement and then take dentistry as a specialty/fellowship?* they are surgeons w/script pads & maybe extra anesthetics, materials and plastics/aesthetics training, who see paeds and adults, arguably, i guess, - *BUT* ...the teeth arent THAT complex an organ system. Really. Come on. Just wondering if you, or anyone, has a view. or is it really different internationally. Also, i've worked w/maxios who were "Mr". w/o starting a flame war: technically technically PhDs are the only 'doctors' (hey - practice degrees are 'masters', take it up w/hx): but i inquired, and he had become a surgeon _w/o the BDS/DDS/MBBS/MD_ or any of the equivalents. So, there was no convention to use 'dr' there, so he didnt. just a random memory, but wondering if youve encountered that. i cant think of any such path...but who knows. bureaucracy can be a beautiful thing.

That just sounds like you’re not with the right people. If someone can’t support your drive and ambition you better yourself then it’s their loss! Hopefully you find someone who has those same dreams and work ethics and who will support you for them rather than put you down!

Really agree with much of what you are saying however some of it is difficult to transfer over to my own life. I am currently a PA student entering my second semester of my first year and due to the acceleration of the program I find it difficult to not study all the time. I try to make at least one day for myself to get out and have fun though. Also could not agree more about your opinion on school pricing. Luckily I had the same view and went to a state school undergrad and came out debt free, although I did end up in a top tier private grad program I’m lucky that I dont have undergrad debt on top of grad debt.
Ugh.. it does suck.. but if medicine is your absolute passion, then follow that dream. You’ll find a way to deal with the debt later. If you don’t follow that and it’s really what you want to do, it’ll be much harder living with regret or being stuck in a career you hate. They don’t have regret repayment plans 😋

I don't need a lot to be satisfied financially speaking, my main concern is being pushed to weigh my future pursuits by what will help me get out of debt quickest, rather than what I am most passionate about.
Austin Graham I understand that! But like you said if you don’t need a lot financially then you probably can get away living frugally and just l pay them off as you see fit. I think you should definitely follow your dream! Medicine needs more people in it like you who are passionate about it

Hey Dr. Cellini, just started MS1 a few weeks ago. Wondering how you learned to decipher which information was high yield/likely to never be seen on a test?
OMS2 here. Usually what I tell my little and others is if you have a lecture format, try to read the book ahead of time or watch a boards n beyond video (if it's anything other than anatomy) as a preface of what you should be looking for. Once you get that summary, then attend lecture and see what stuff lines up, as well as supporting details for the main points. This helped me to pick out what was important usually

Kind of.. there’s lectures and things, but there’s so many of them 😋 kind of like non stop and the info in them is massive. It’s not like you have little assignments or they stop to see how you’re doing through the block or semester etc. You know test day and you know you’re responsible for knowing the material that day, no matter how you go about it. That’s why in his other videos he recommended not going to class, which I completely agree with! You can stay home and figure out the best way to get al that info in
Unless you come from money, you can't truly afford all the good stuff in your 20s. Trips to the caribbean, hawaii, bora bora. Nice hotels. Airplane flight. Everything is done on a stressful budget ...
Can anyone answer my question?! What is med school like? For example is it only studying and then test or is there also hw. What happens if you fail a test? I hope a doctor or med student is seeing this! What happens if u fail a test do u keep on going through it and how do u feel? My job is to be a radiologist but I’m more of the person that says everything is over If I fail a test. And is there study groups?!!

Rhonda Elle do it! I’m 48 and decided I want to apply to PA school after having been an entrepreneur since my early thirties. Since this April I’ve started and completed phlebotomy training and the EMT program. I’ll sit for the NREMT soon. Right now I’m completing EKG and medical assistant training with the goal of earning my patient care hours as an Emergency Medical Technician while working on my pre-reqs. The time will pass us by anyway. Also there’s something so satisfying in knowing in January this was all just a wish and now it’s a possibility. Best of luck!

Honestly, sometimes some of my family members try to put me in a position of doubt on becoming a doctor because of how expensive and long the journey will be. Lucky for me, I love challenges and the thrill of the unknown.

It's a lot cheaper in India. I completed my undergraduation in less than $5000. Now I'm pursuing INTERNAL MEDICINE which will cost me under $30k.. interventional radiology is amazing. Wishing u bright future ahead.
I got emotional when you spoke about your wife. It is so sweet the way you refer to her. It reminds me of my partner and I, I plan on going to dental school next year (hoping I get in, cross your fingers🤣) and it is nice to know your partner will have your back through these hardships!❤️

Wake up at 5, take the disgusting subway, start pre-rounds with some serious attitude nurses, attending comes, he'll probably be condensing and make you feel like shit, lecture at noon, more rounds, then go home, probably eat out
Honestly, I feel the biggest problem with medicine is the tuition. Like even if you graduate with a 4.0 in the absolute highest paying pre med degree possible in something like electrical, software, or petroleum engineering, you legit have to work nonstop as an engineer only to spend 100% of that income paying off the debt while attending med school simultaneously to keep things moving at an adequate speed and to prevent debt from accumulating. I honestly like to think of medical school as "Breaking out of the cycle of poverty phase 2". Like instead of nonstop working a shitty 10$ an hour job to pay 50,000$ of tuition like in undergrad school, your working a 50$ an hour job to pay off 250,000$ in tuition, so its honestly no different than the first phase, since its the same useless ratio but with different numbers XD
This really opened my eyes I'm a pre-med student (freshman) and I'm hoping to finish my degree with in the next 2 years because I'm walking in with 61 credits and now since I'm going to a private school I should probably tranfer after my fall semester to save money. You should do a vedio on how you study in medical schools it should really help
These are great points; I'm really impressed by how objective and positive you manage to come across despite being at the end of your long arduous journey. Two things I never thought about before going into medicine was 1) the fact that the hospital runs 24/7 and that means doctors are always taking either 24 hour shifts or doing night shifts. Totally didn't think about this until I was a MS3 and doing my first 24 hour shift. Now that I'm at the end of residency, I'm not sure if this would've changed my mind about going into medicine but it is a reality to recognize. This is incorporated into many jobs for the rest of your career; 2) everyone has to go through residency and it sucks. It is a finite period of time but definitely much more defining and arduous than medical school. Thanks for the great content!

More of the same; even more demands because you are totally self motivating and self directed. Its all up to you at this point ; plus you will be working as well as studying for your fellowship examinations , compiling data for your thesis and doing procedures for your log book. You will have a little salary ,but inflation renders that almost non existent . its a great idea to have an outside interest that can be monetised

I wish more college students would stop getting bad information that they have to go to certain schools and spend certain amounts of money and just overall be wreck less with money when it comes to school and beyond. I'm going back to school and my goal is to do it debt free and to pay as I go. It is 100% possible because I am living within my means, applying to every scholarship available, saving money the year before to pay for the next payment as a lump sum and keep funding it year after year, and going to a school that is priced correctly. Where you go to school doesn't have as much weight anymore in the career job fields. It doesn't. What you learned and what you bring to the table matters most. If you spent 4 years at Yale learning theory and being book and test smart, compared to someone who went to community college and transfered to an in state 4 year and majored there. Which in their classes they did more labs and work study programs to shadow and do research in companies that apply to what they worked on in school. As an employer the hands on practical function of the job training and experience is far more valuable than a name of a school. This is the same for medical school. Some can help open doors but it's not guaranteed to let you in. Acceptance rates to residencies is all that matters after test score averages for the school. So many people are getting told incorrect things or told to not worry about it. You should worry about debt! Lol if you choose a specialty that doesn't make money you're in trouble. Compounding interest makes 200k into 500k in no time at all. Budgeting and financial classes need to be taught and mandatory for HS and college students. Buying a 70k BMW in med school isn't smart. With the loan you got and how much it truly costs over the 10 years you have the loan it becomes about 180k car. Med school loans are necessary but you can be smart about them and apply to schools that give more help and aid to you, and are able to live within what you are comfortable paying. This video needs to be shared everywhere. Debt is killing society and so many lives. Drop outs and people who don't have the true drive to do this kind of life just in turn hurt themselves. It's so sad to see, that they didn't have anyone tell them to stop and think for a moment before they possibly make a big mistake.

My med school actually has a whole workshop the week before school starts providing us resources and guidance on how to approach medical school: studying, test taking, note taking, stress and also time management. It’s actually very nice. I️ did not know about it when I️ chose them, but it made the decision even more satisfying.

I wish someone told me that good bedside manner was incredibly rare to see. I remember taking my first rounds with the team and witnessing how little care and compassion they displayed for patients, it was absolutely disheartening to see.

Dr Cellini........I am not in medicine but I have worked in the past with medical providers in the Psychiatric field. I did all the transcribing for all the physicians we had. Unfortunately, I lost that job due to funding with our local government. I love the medical field and only wished I would have been more serious about it way back in the day.....but I wasn’t the greatest student in certain subjects and those would have been required and then some! I applaud your honesty and keeping it real. Is Mrs. Cellini a med student? Bless her for helping you out. It’s a team effort...but also try to have fun too!

@@mike112693 A well paid veterinary specialist still makes the fraction of a human physician. And yes we also have orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, cardiologists, all the things. Specializing also takes years so in the meantime their loans are growing exponentially while they have to defer their loan payments because they get paid $30k a year to work 80+ hours/week.
Im actually studying med school in Geneva Switzerland ( which is 6 years ) and it costs 1000.- a year which I think it’s actually very cheap knowing the salaries opportunities that we get. Not criticizing or anything but I think our system is way more affordable et better organized.

I didn’t go to med school and some of the reasons were because was 27, thinking I was old for that and had to study and work extensively for such a long time and would make money only after more than a decade. I love studying, but well. Even though I admired the profession and the possibility of being able to help people in a very special way, I thought it was too much of a long shot. At 37, I’m not a doctor, working extensively hours in a job that I’m not passionate about, not making anything close to what a doctor makes, not able to help as much as I thought I would…and now having to admit that med school still is the way to go for me. Hold my hammer….

Waoooo I just saw this video in 2021, I'm 38 and I really want to study medicine. I felt I was too old for it, but I guess God made me watch this video and seeing these comments as a confirmation that my dreams are valid. Can't wait for September next year... I'm excited already.
I watched this as I recall days from med school. This makes me a bit nostalgic actually. It was intense but over all I had a great med school experience back in the 2000s and have a lot of good memories. Definitely you need good friends to get you through it. I went to a state school. Definitely right on the money here about going to the cheapest school out there. I can't believe how expensive it's become. Also, i cannot fathom med school during covid. Must have been crazy. I was single during med school and got married later. I can see the benefits both ways.

Given that med school is extremely expensive to attend and most people have to take out loans, like you said in the video it really at the end of the day makes no difference wether you go to a private elite medical school versus a simple much cheaper in state option. then you said expect for obviously like big elite names such as Harvard or Cornell or something like that. Since the medical education is basically the same at every medical school, would you say attending a in state med school which is $16,000/year is more worth it because you would obviously be able to pay off those loans faster than say a $300,000 medical education? I have heard from some med students like oh don’t worry about the debt because that private medical school is going to provide you with way more opportunities, such as early clinics rotations in second year or more well-known faculty. I understand that people want to go to a prestigious school but honestly as a pre med with no prior medical experience, even if you want to say go into competitive specialities such as plastic surgery or neurosurgery or radiology, at the end of the day you can get into a great residency while going to an in state medical school. I was just curious more about your opinion on this because it seems like there is so much pressure to attend the most prestigious well known school as possible.

That is why I choose Biochemistry over medicine. I believe I can help people more effectively a scientist, doing all of the work behind the scenes. Rather than being a doctor who is always preoccupied with patients. Personally, I can't imagine dealing with sick people everyday back to back, sleep interrupted by emergencies.
Dr. Cellini, love the vid! I just wished you had emphasized how much interest is a killer! Yes, the average may be $250,000 for cost of attendance, but by the time you finish training and actually get down to paying it off, you're easily looking at >$500,000. Buyer beware!
What about when you are the one that does all the cleaning , cooking, laundry , work and student, even the one that does all the paperwork like payments, taxes etc ????
*Do you know why dental students dont do a normal med degree w/rounds, placement and then take dentistry as a specialty/fellowship?* they are surgeons w/script pads & maybe extra anesthetics, materials and plastics/aesthetics training, who see paeds and adults, arguably, i guess, - *BUT* ...the teeth arent THAT complex an organ system. Really. Come on. Just wondering if you, or anyone, has a view. or is it really different internationally.
Also, i've worked w/maxios who were "Mr". w/o starting a flame war: technically technically PhDs are the only 'doctors' (hey - practice degrees are 'masters', take it up w/hx): but i inquired, and he had become a surgeon _w/o the BDS/DDS/MBBS/MD_ or any of the equivalents. So, there was no convention to use 'dr' there, so he didnt. just a random memory, but wondering if youve encountered that. i cant think of any such path...but who knows. bureaucracy can be a beautiful thing.

That just sounds like you’re not with the right people. If someone can’t support your drive and ambition you better yourself then it’s their loss! Hopefully you find someone who has those same dreams and work ethics and who will support you for them rather than put you down!

Really agree with much of what you are saying however some of it is difficult to transfer over to my own life. I am currently a PA student entering my second semester of my first year and due to the acceleration of the program I find it difficult to not study all the time. I try to make at least one day for myself to get out and have fun though. Also could not agree more about your opinion on school pricing. Luckily I had the same view and went to a state school undergrad and came out debt free, although I did end up in a top tier private grad program I’m lucky that I dont have undergrad debt on top of grad debt.

Ugh.. it does suck.. but if medicine is your absolute passion, then follow that dream. You’ll find a way to deal with the debt later. If you don’t follow that and it’s really what you want to do, it’ll be much harder living with regret or being stuck in a career you hate. They don’t have regret repayment plans 😋

I don't need a lot to be satisfied financially speaking, my main concern is being pushed to weigh my future pursuits by what will help me get out of debt quickest, rather than what I am most passionate about.

I just need to continue to remind myself of why I am doing this each day. Question when you’re a radiologist how long are your shifts are they like 8 hour shifts 15 hour shifts or 23 hour shifts?
Diagnostic usually has less demanding schedule. But since he's in interventional he has longer shifts

Hey Dr. Cellini, just started MS1 a few weeks ago. Wondering how you learned to decipher which information was high yield/likely to never be seen on a test?
OMS2 here. Usually what I tell my little and others is if you have a lecture format, try to read the book ahead of time or watch a boards n beyond video (if it's anything other than anatomy) as a preface of what you should be looking for. Once you get that summary, then attend lecture and see what stuff lines up, as well as supporting details for the main points. This helped me to pick out what was important usually

Kind of.. there’s lectures and things, but there’s so many of them 😋 kind of like non stop and the info in them is massive. It’s not like you have little assignments or they stop to see how you’re doing through the block or semester etc. You know test day and you know you’re responsible for knowing the material that day, no matter how you go about it. That’s why in his other videos he recommended not going to class, which I completely agree with! You can stay home and figure out the best way to get al that info in
