"The last thing you wanna do is hurt a patient or hurt a patients' family member because you are too proud to confirm your knowledge " what a great quote ..
Jaime I love doctor Mike but he’s right. If you are too proud to verify your knowledge, you have no right to be working in the hospital. I’m sure any dr. that cares for their patients are aware of that.

Why is he expected to treat anyone free of cost? What's the problem if he makes money by using social media? How is that violating any medical ethics? He's not revealing any information about his patients, he's not doing anything illegal. If anything, he's helping future applicants by giving them all this information about his personal journey.
micky doll - why do you expect doctors (and for other people, attorneys) to work pro bono? They are giving a service and deserve to be paid. When you go to a car dealer do you expect the same, what about a restaurant? Wall street worker? Policemen? Senators? How about everyone work in service of others and no one takes a paycheck! 😑 I've never understood this phenomenal expectation for doctor/attorneys.

As a third year family resident in France I really like your global approach :) Your content is uplifting and inspiring. Once you expose your life on the internet you become an easy target ; regardless of the field in which you practice. Your care and respect towards your patients is obvious . And that' s the most important thing!
I like him due to the fact that he’s from medical field. People usually adore those who are from entertainment industry. So, this is so much needed. Appreciate those who are doctors, engineers, physicists, teachers, etc. These people need to be idealised too.
I love when you film videos like this! As a sophomore in high school that wants to go into medicine, I can honestly say that these videos really inspire me, and provide me with much needed information. ❤️

My brother is a Doctor and I often met his co-residents friends. It was always intersting to listen to their stories. The hospital where they did their residency was close to a nice beach. They used yo go to the beach every chance they got. So I think that made their 2 years a lot more easy after a stressful week.

Hey Doctor Mike, I really appreciate your honesty and ability to be genuine in sharing your experiences about your medical school journey and beyond. It was really insightful and interesting to hear first-hand what residency is like. I have heard a lot of people say that residency is the toughest stage of your medical journey, but I never could grasp why. Thank you for uploading this video, it was really rare to see something so genuine and honest. I also applaud you for the fact that you use social media and your UA-cam account to spread positive and encouraging messages and of course, how to stay healthy. I am never bored by the content that you release for all your viewers. Keep up the amazing work that you do and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours and on your journey to be a better doctor. Hope you will upload a video on a day in the life of a family physician soon. Or perhaps another Good Doctor review. Thanks!

I love the versatility and vast reach of social media and will continue to post bc, like you, I do not know where it will lead me, but believe it will unlock potential for the medical world if we just open ourselves up to it :D
I saw an Osteopath for about 10 months and he really helped me with my shoulder and knee. It’s amazing how he could listen to me and watch me move and tell me where I hurt and what was causing it.

Dr Mike, what you said about recommending the treatments you believe work being your job as a doctor, and not taking more money for that, gives me a lot of confidence that you've thought this through. And I have never seen you say anything questionable yet. You give medical students and hopefuls a good role model and motivation :D
Thank you for your genuine, positive and professional message! Being in med school, I've realized most students and doctors I've met are completely the opposite.

This is really helpful. I am starting my last semester of college this week. I am going into the health administration career. Most importantly I want to help kids with special needs. My brother has cerebral palsy and I got inspired by him.
Thank you, Sima. Growing with a family member like that was not easy. I felt inferior when I was small because people looked at him as if he was an alien, or at least that was what I felt when I saw those eyes staring at him. I couldn't accept my brother being disabled until I was 18 after more than 2 years being away from family (I went to a boarding school and college). As I grow older, I stop caring about how other people look at my family, especially my brother (some neighbors spred false stories about how my brother became like that. It is not genetic, he had high fever when he was a baby). I have met other families with disabled kids and I saw the low-esteem in the parents or other kids and when I shared my experience with them, they thanked me for making them feel better. I wish there was someone who'd told me the same thing when I was growing up. :)
Thank you for this. At a young age I knew that my brother was special. I always saw my parents taking care of him and I would always contribute in helping with holding his hand at the doctor's appointments or giving his favorite toy. He is the only one with special needs in my whole family. There were times when some family members didn't understand why we always gave more time to him and not travel during summer vacations. They don't understand how situation and that is completely okay with us. I have seen my parents scarfice their dreams to give my brother and i the best life possible. My parents and I are so exremetely close to him and we learn so many life lessons from him everyday. The strength my parents has for the past 30 years is incredible. We take him every where we go and make each experience amazing for him. I stopped caring what people think because I want to give my brother the best life possible. Every morning when his big brown eyes look at me, I feel like the luckiest sister every. He holds my hand every time i go to him. That's why I go to college that is close to home., this what I can help my parents and I can't imagine going away from him. I am graduating this semester and I can't wait to support my family. I do believe that he is someone special and he came into my life for a reason.
Man you're such a good, genuine person. I think you would make an incredible doctor, just by the way you speak. I'm currently at the start of my medical journey doing diabetes research. I very much appreciate your advice and how humble you are about your journey.

After graduating from medical school I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue residency and practice, but it's doctors like you who have inspired me to go all the way and embrace the fear, suffering and hard work that residency entails so that I have the ability to help and treat my patients in the future - that is what matters in the end! I started documenting my journey on Intermittent Fasting and mind management on my own channel and aspire to reach the number of people that you have reached. Would love to help you out in any way I can in the future and collaborate one day! Keep up the wonderful work and remember that the world needs YOU. Lots of love from Texas - God bless my brother!!!!
Thank you for telling your full story! I’m so glad you started instagram in med school :)
So am I haha =] Thanks for watching
You are amazing!! I'm so glad people like you exist. Never change!!
He is so passionate ❤️❤️❤️
100 th like
As a third year family resident in France I really like your global approach :) Your content is uplifting and inspiring. Once you expose your life on the internet you become an easy target ; regardless of the field in which you practice. Your care and respect towards your patients is obvious . And that' s the most important thing!
He’s going to make it big one day. I hope he is able to stick to his values! Keep it up, Dr. Mike!
I think he's already on the track :)
I wish I could hear you speak Russian
The Arizkey: Are you German? Just asking because the flag on your profile picture. Didn’t saw lots of Germans here around.
S R Here is one 🙌🏻
S R l am from Germany! :) I reaaaallllyyyy enjoy his videos
Well he actually spoke Russian in a video. He was talking to his father in it. I’m Russian btw 🙂
@Dragoslav Vega, The Brazilian guy thats not how it works oh my
I love your way of explaining things. It makes all of your videos very interesting to watch.
I’m glad you worked on being taken seriously as a medical professional and not just stuck to the “hot dr” label . Wise man
I like him due to the fact that he’s from medical field. People usually adore those who are from entertainment industry. So, this is so much needed. Appreciate those who are doctors, engineers, physicists, teachers, etc. These people need to be idealised too.
Yeah, accountants included
@@maraisfan4life517 etc. includes lots of other professions that aren’t mentioned. Yes, accountants too.
I love when you film videos like this! As a sophomore in high school that wants to go into medicine, I can honestly say that these videos really inspire me, and provide me with much needed information. ❤️
I'm not even into medicine but I love how you talk about dealing with stress and scores, just made my day! Thanks a lot!
I just found your channel and I can't get enough of how positive and joyful you are. It's amazing to watch and listen to your stories. Really entertaining and motivating at the same time. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing!
I love how humble you are, Mike. Stay YOU. 💛
i really want to be a doctor but i am VERY stressed out and can get very anxious seeing things inside a human body. I love medical dramas but i cry through every episode that's how stressed i am and that's why i respect every doctor. you're doing an amazing job bouncing between your youtube audience, tv news and patients and i admire you for that. i'd love to learn about your time management and self-control skills that i seriously need in the future. have a nice day:)
Medical school de-sensitize you to these things tbh.
DR Mike what a man, the camera loves you and your information is very informative. Enjoy life your going to have an amazing time doing what you do, thanks for everything, cheers to you have yourself a great day.
You're such an inspiration! You can be proud of what you have achieved so far 👏🏻 if everybody on this earth was like you we would live in a better world . I wish you the best for what's coming for you :)
Agree! Good creators sharing fascinating topics makes UA-cam and the internet overall a beautiful thing
Dr.mike, you truly made it easier going through nursing school. Seeing you and how appreciative you are of nurses and what they do, really solidified my goals to be a nurse class off spring 2021. Now I get to practice what I love ❤ thank you
As a current medical student, I love your comment about not giving up your life just because you are in school!
That was great. It made me respect you even more.
PS: still waiting for the"skin" & "sleep" special videos from night time routine one.
The best doctor I ever seen on UA-cam you're so inspirational to me
Mike, this is so awesome! Couldn't be happier, buddy!😀👍
Thanks Maurice, hope you enjoy this concept!
You’re amazing! Continue to be yourself
I'm going to be in my senior year in high school this year and I've been dreaming and hoping to be a doctor in the future. Your videos are really interesting and they've helped inspire me. Thanks Doctor Mike!
I'm 23 and starting with my RN so that I can afford the med school and so on. I see so much of myself in you, and that makes me so confident in my choices because it's like I've seen myself succeed here. Thank you so much for sharing your journey.
What exactly is RN btw?

Good luck
My brother is a Doctor and I often met his co-residents friends. It was always intersting to listen to their stories. The hospital where they did their residency was close to a nice beach. They used yo go to the beach every chance they got. So I think that made their 2 years a lot more easy after a stressful week.
I'd LOVE to see a video of you talking about your study habits and kinda walk through what you studied and how you did it and any tips, your keys to success when it comes to taking tests and all of that :)
A good doctor should never be scared to say "I don't know." Feels so good to hear someone say it.
We need more doctors like you, Doctor Mike, because you ACTUALLY care about your patients and you LISTEN to your patients!
Hey Doc! I'm a medical student in the SouthEast US, and I appreciate you telling us about your journey! I hope I can get a good residency in 2.5 years!
Just going through comments! I hope you got into your residency you wanted !
@@selinaxo1008 Thank you! I actually match this week and find out what residency I will match to this coming Friday! :D
All the best! ❤️ crazy timing tho 😂
I’m showing this to all my peers who want to be a doctor! Thanks dr. Mike!
I really like your content ! It's educational ,funny, entartaining and serious( when it's needed) . .All in one .Keep up the good work. Greetings from Romania!
I never understand the people who don’t like these videos! I watch videos all day long while I’m working I used to be in nursing school and absolutely love anything medical related but I switched to business so these are so amazing to watch.
A balance between social media and learning, my parents would be proud.
Hi, thanks for inspiring me. I'm starting med school in September 2020. Thanks for the encouragement and tips💝💝🤗🤗

After finishing his speech I felt as if I'm time travelled from the beginning to end
I literally was imagining
I have a lot of respect for this man. I feel like everyone who has a distrust of doctors in general would benefit from watching him. Open, honest, and genuine. God bless you!!
I was going to sleep but had to finish this when I got the notification😂 this style of video is so good and helpful, please do more :)
I Know I’m late, but still want to say Mike you are amazing, thank you for being such a kind honest (and beautiful) person/doctor! ❤️
One of the most determined doctors i had ever seen
Thanks!
I felt this was genuine. You deserve respect. 👏🏻
Thank you Dr. Mike for giving us a glimpse into your journey. You are such an inspiration to so many people that want to help others in the medical field. It is amazing to see you using your social media platform to educate people on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. You have given me tips on how to eat healthier, exercising and how to to live a healthy lifestyle. I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you for helping me make these positive changes in my life.....❤️🤗❤️
18:20 is so relatable! People have told me the same thing about social media = unprofessional... I love the versatility and vast reach of social media and will continue to post bc, like you, I do not know where it will lead me, but believe it will unlock potential for the medical world if we just open ourselves up to it :D
Doctor Disney ❤️
I saw an Osteopath for about 10 months and he really helped me with my shoulder and knee. It’s amazing how he could listen to me and watch me move and tell me where I hurt and what was causing it.
This guy is great. At speaking, at knowledge, at humour, at judging, at decision making.
....
Your attitude and energy is exactly what the world needs. It makes me feel so good to know there’s doctors like you out there ❤️
He hearts nearly ever comment.
I love him
I love how passionate you are as a doctor before doing your job as a social media influencer :)
22:37 The slight shade towards the Kardashians have me wheezing
one night felt really sick and went to the ER. the doctor on duty was obviously an intern or whatever term you use for a doctor in training.
just asked me what im feeling/problem is, wrote it in a paper , handed out a prescription, never looked at me in the eye.
now hearing your doctor journey stories, am here wishing all doctor have the same passion as you.
Dr Mike, what you said about recommending the treatments you believe work being your job as a doctor, and not taking more money for that, gives me a lot of confidence that you've thought this through. And I have never seen you say anything questionable yet. You give medical students and hopefuls a good role model and motivation :D
Awesome video! Please talk about your television journey as well, would be interesting to hear
“Listening to Percocet molly percoct” I died of laughter 😂😂 you’re so funny
I didn't understand anything but still watched 😧😅😅😅.
Nista Yonjan 😂😂😂😂

BROBROPRO GT thankyou ❤
Nista Yonjan me too hahaha 😂
Thank you for your genuine, positive and professional message! Being in med school, I've realized most students and doctors I've met are completely the opposite.
Exceptionally respectful human being. Deserves all the recognition and more importantly the platform to share his knowledge.
Your videos are honestly so helpful! I want to become a cardiothoracic surgeon in the future, but I also would like to have an adventurous life balanced with my job. Your videos inspire me and I hope to be as amazing as you in the future! Thank you!!
Marianne Hanouneh CT surgery is on the decline with Cardio doing more procedures these days along with IR. Keep on keeping on though! Have to look at future trends!

I'm extremely interested in watching this kind of video which reveals how you experience this incredible journey. I hope you will do more intimate and genuine style videos in the future. Love U

I’m just binge watching Dr Mike’s videos throughout this quarantine. I love your energy and you just being positive .
Mad respect on maintaining your integrity as a HUMAN and not cashing in as a figure on social media Mike.
definitely going to apply to overlook medical center for residency now :) You must have had an amazing time there!
Very honest video Doc. 👍👍Transparency builds trust..
This is really helpful. I am starting my last semester of college this week. I am going into the health administration career. Most importantly I want to help kids with special needs. My brother has cerebral palsy and I got inspired by him.
Sima S I had a brother with cerebral palsy too. He died last year at 41.
I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure that he is always watching over you. My brother just turned 30 this year.
Sima S ll
