Good job not getting bit! A terrified malinois won't F around. She seemed to calm when he hugged her to his body. She must've realized that he was there to help her. So glad he did!
My dear brother and sister-in-law b+b'd a place out in eastern CO from The Springs, because their dog Mr. Z, just freaks on the 4th. Thanks and reverence to this MAN for capturing a poochkin to return to his humans. You're a marvel sir!
The dogs owners are so lucky. So many dogs that went missing on July 4 didn’t make it or haven’t been found. Please folks you are warned every single year to keep your dog secure on July 4 and anytime there are fireworks and people don’t listen and dogs go missing. It’s not that hard. It should be common sense. Dogs don’t understand what fireworks are.
Fireworks always start early, usually many days early and they continue after the Fourth of July for days. My dog can hear the booms even when I cannot, and he wants to run back in the house or he would run away if he was in a strange place like that dog.
This happened to my pup at 8 months (he escaped his prior family’s home). Being a scared nervous pup it took the community 2 weeks to catch him. Skin & bones + over 120 ticks. I adopted him at 11 months. This story brought tears to my eyes. God bless the hero who save Konnie’s life (and my pup’s). ❤❤🐕
with me hope they take better care of her this time. I have 2 dogs and they cant just bolt. THey are leashed when outside period even with me there. Especially during fireworks! Thank GOD for people like this man who rescued this poor girl hes the real hero!
I often have said after losing a beautiful husky on the Fourth of July that people should not have fireworks in neighborhoods. I think it should be outlawed. I think it should be illegal. It is not fair to people who work at 6 o’clock in the morning. It is not fair to sleeping babies. It is not fair to animals, I think it should be outlawed neighborhoods for this very reason animals end up running away. I myself lost a beautiful husky. Someone found it and took it and never returned it and I was devastated. It was not fair. It was not right.
Im so happy Connie was well and has been reunited with her family 🐶🫂💕💕 THIS is the difference between living in a community & just living somewhere 👌🏻🥰🐶💕
What an amazing guy!! Thank you for saving this poor baby and having her reunited to her family ❤🥰🙏 You have saved this doggie and her family from a broken heart ❤
My birthday is on the 4th of July and I got so lucky because our adopted husky is absolutely 100% unbothered by fireworks. The first year we had him we walked him all around our neighborhood while everyone was shooting off fireworks and he did SO WELL. We’ve had him a couple years now and he’s always so chill during fireworks but such a drama queen the rest of the time lol. I’m glad Konni made it home safe ❤️
Owners anger me when they don't keep their dogs inside during fireworks!! When will they ever get it, don't have your dogs outside during fireworks! I work with the ASPCA, and this happens ALL the time, or they run out in the streets and get hit! It just gets me so mad!!
Awesome!!! I have a 4 year old female so I KNOW both the guy and Konni must have been so scared. One thing I ALWAYS do? NEVER take mine out anywhere without a harness and a leash. I KNOW there will not be a "next time. Blessings!
San Juan county banned fireworks without a permit. Next time, record the offenders and report them to the police. Maybe they will learn to leave fireworks to the ones with permits.
Don’t even get me started on how stupid fireworks are in residential areas. I’m so over it. You’ve got to lack complete and total sense and compassion to do this around houses, pets, people with anxiety, people who simply don’t want to endure living in a war zone unnecessarily or fearing their house or fence may burn, etc. Then there is the plastic disc debris neighbors expect you to pick up from all over your yard. As a Malinois owner, this story makes me exceptionally upset. My neighbors traumatized my Malinois in 2021 with their relentless bombing directly over our house and she’s never been the same. Nor have I. Explosives are not a constitutional “right.” I grew up in a normal, critically thinking world where professionals lit them in dedicated areas with permits on specific holidays and residents lit their sparklers and other non aerial products. That was in the 80s and 90s,but since then, the world has become increasingly stupid. Desantis is the one to blame for the Florida fireworks mess. Our local governments have laws that counteract his stupidity, but since they’re still putting up their tents and getting sold, they are still being lit and exploded whenever and wherever by thoughtless morons. It gets worse every year.
It never ceases to amaze me how selfish people can be with a burn ban. Fireworks start fires, especially when used by selfish people who were never parented correctly when they said "Give me." Poor parenting led to your comment, let them know I said that they failed.
So you're telling me, you take your dog to a whole new town, let your dog outside in a place that they don't know, on July 4th, when there's fireworks been going off all day and all night for the past probably week by now, and you're still going to let your dog run around outside and place that he doesn't know, with random fireworks going off during the day because it is July 4th and people don't just do them during the night, that's kind of stupid but I'm glad your dog is back, some people shouldn't even have dogs
My Malinois was desensitized to them but if the bombing is close, becomes overwhelming and relentless for hours and then days on end, that training goes out the window and they are permanently traumatized from then on. That’s what happened to mine and understandably so. It’s unacceptable, how stupid and thoughtless people can be. They are selling fireworks that are insanely loud and meant for professional use. Not just the average “pop,” but an all out BOOM and you feel like you are under attack. No one should defend the use of these in residential areas. It’s completely insane.
I never understand why the dogs run from their homes. Don't they feel safe in their own familiar home? You would think they coward under a bed and stay with their human family.
Shame on that guy and his family - you did me in when you started with “WE KNEW…”. Just shame on you! But so glad she was found so she wouldn’t starve….perhaps she needs a new family. She should’ve gotten your face. I hope, sir, you have truly learned from this.
I’m glad they didn’t leave Her at home to be alone during fireworks. Some dogs get so frantic they have jumped through glass. Of course whatever they did with her afterwards was a mistake because she wasn’t secured.
