This is just jaw dropping to witness. Some have taken their gifts and taken to unheard of levels. Monster players, incredible technique and most importantly, GROOVE!
My God😊
Like always Dennis chambers smoking the drum kit
Well I'm a guitarist but can't stop listening to Dennis...he is the daddy.
Dennis Chambers.... what a FREAKING MONSTER!!!! It is amazing to me how fast his hands and feet are yet, he plays so cleanly. You go Man!!!! Keep inspiring drummers that appreciate this kind of music such as myself.
Drummer is a god!
I miss 80's fusion...
They make it in Japan.
Go Dennis! Amazing drummer. 🔥
Bass guitar player is amazing
john scofield is unbelieveble
How the hell Scofield can think ahead to play those riffs is way beyond my scope of understanding or capability to play like that. I guess that is why I admire players like him. Dennis Chambers is a force on drums too.
I saw these guys play together in the 80s. I can’t remember the exact date but it probably would have been around the time that this was recorded. I was completely blown away as you can imagine 🤯😊
The Keyboardist is a beast
RIP Jim Beard 😢
Shieet, even when you know it, DC's single roll is SO FEROCIOUS, man, real beast and a Legend !!! :o
Those hits in "Make Me" and that minimal groove with Dennis leaving out all the hi hats...
would hope john scofield form a reunion band with this guys
He did so this past weekend! He played two sets w them @ the appel room in NYC
One of the greatest! Speed power and control unmatched
Dennis is a god
After seeing DC with Stern just the other night, I had to check out these videos. I do believe DC has come back from his recent health issues even more possessed than he is on these cuts. What a great band this was!!!
Scofield's playing is pure Liquid Fire. Rhythm section amazing.
Scofield is a beast man!
incredible play
what a jam!
the best drummer!
What a quartet !
Loud Jazz is my fav album and when he was in NL, Canada on July 11th, 2013 I was his driver and I asked how he named his albums. He chuckled that his family names most of them and I asked about Loud Jazz. He said, "My daughter said, 'It's Loud Jazz, Daddy..' so it stuck." Cool story, and it's all mine ;) Thanks to John (and the Uberjamband) for a great show...
Full band cover of "Blue Matter" you might want to check out: ua-cam.com/video/J-qPz9H7bpA/v-deo.html
The Coolest Rythm Section Alive..Dennis and James.
Sick mfs!
excelent drummer
this is insane!
As a guitarist I've been greatly influenced by Scofields playing (even though I barely understand half of it, lols).
As a musician perhaps the greatest thing I have to thank him for is introducing me me to my now favorite drummer.
Thanks John. ^-^
Check out Greg Howe he's played with Dennis Chambers and he's a awesome guitarist.
Cobham!
@@MultiRedman30 : I remember Greg Howe from the early Shrapnel days. Great player for sure. I was even teaching others how to "shred" (
@@austinmonroe3894 : I can't think of even one really good drummer I know (and I've known a lot of them) that didn't cite Cobham as one of their influences. Also Colaiuta, Gadd, and Weckl. Pretty much all of the good drummers I've known cited Peart, Moon, and Mitchell. But all of the really good ones I've known also cite the previous five fusion drummers too. Also, convos that span 3 years.
1:12 How Chambers seamlessly switches here from an accented double-stroke roll to a single-stroke roll across the toms is just ferocious!
muito bom Dennis Chambers lenda sou fã!
Dennis Chambers: Chops and Groove.
Nice Sound Drums ... ... ...

Okay I bow down to Chambers!!!
NIce tight number and tight quartet. Love the drummer.
GOD DAMN...
MONSTER MUSICIAN....EVERYONE...😱
Dennis Chambers made the twinpedal cool.
Educate me , what is a twin pedal? I know what a double pedal is. This is not that. Great album tho.
wonderful!
Thank You for the answer back. That's good to know.
He's fantastic, as well as the rest of the group.
Thanks
I think Nag is the perfect name for this song!
monstruoso!
To me this was no different from watching Dream theater . I enjoy this better
Wow...I had this on VHS. Lol!
I only registrated on UA-cam to post that 5:30 is the coolest move I´ve ever seen!
Just Smokin' and skin-tight..
So, if we had to break don the "Baddest: drummer, it would have to be him. They always gear toward rock drummers, but this guy does all genres, all styles, plays with the best of the best, so I have to say he's the GOAT, as far as definition of the "Baddest".
I didn't no that was possible in a jazz club, sounds like an interesting story though
muy excelente!!!!
I have yet to see any other drummer with better limb independence (being able to play something in one timing while playing another timing with a completely other set of limbs) than Dennis Chambers
Yes, there's some amazing "zen-like" stuff going on there. It's almost like he puts his feet on "auto-pilot", but can switch it on and off with his mind. He clearly hears what the combination of all the drum hits sound like, because he makes adjustments to them in real-time :-)
Old comments, but there is A LOT of drummers that are able to play with a VERY HIGH level of independence.
Don't forget Chris Colman 😉
Phil Collins with Brand X
Damn I had to check my UA-cam playback speed! Thought it Was to x1.5!!
Gary Grainger:)
that was badass
Just noticed dennis playing hi hat w his foot.....along with the double bass, what the shit?
I did sound for Chambers many years ago. He didn't use a double pedal, he didn't need one.
@@davenatale850 a drum teacher I use to have got me to learn single footed double bass, because of songs like bernard
Go to 2:10 and you'll see that his hi-hat pedal and left pedal for the double bass pedal, are so close together that he can play both with one foot :-) He is master at displacement, so he can do a left-right-right or right-right-left so evenly...you don't even notice he switched the pattern.
cool!
Thank you... but i was talking about "drop and roll"... i 've been years listening that tune knowing only it was from Scofield but no name or album, now I know....
Multikilll!
Awesome Channel- I really enjoyed watching!
Best wishes and keep up the great work, Max
Exactly.
3:11 blowed my mind out :o
i got my face punched to this tune in a jazz club back in the day
Gary Grainger of Baltimore, so is the Drummer Dennis. Gary used to be a group called Pockets in the late 70's. Look for a song called funk it over...
holdsworth / billy cobham influencia totalmente
Tiukkaa !
Best sound kit DC had.....I can't figure were the the mlx or czx...any other drummers out there may have an idea?
Rebel Sports rocks!
데니스챔버.
John was the
The most over rated guitarist in modern history what is he saying
Nada como la buena musica , siempre mas de cuatro acordes
Faaaaaaaahk . Scofield is such a MF .
Dennis Chambers .... ha ha ha too good
Steve gadd influence!
ou yeah
How did he manage to get the whole band to do a drum video? They must have had some cash.
Dennis Chambers ft. John Scofield......
7:34
The great playing is awesome . What a band. Nothing like a Smith bass. Scoflield and Chamber, Granger , ridiculous
Not Schofield but Scofield. More fans will find this better once his name is changed.
Schoefield sounds german
Name of Gary Grainger.
after 3:30: whiping the jizz off my keyboard
Hi, anyone please can tell me the name and album of this Scofield's song/tune... I can't find it in any album... if you search scofield jazz guitar funk mp3 you ll find... i can't upload the link here,,,..
'Blue Matter' is the name of the album that contains both these tunes
InsTRIOmental - Jazz Guitar Funk COVER - Jhon Scofield here is a cover of the song I request,,, can anyone tell me in which album, name of the song? thanks
1:10--1:19 SlapMyGreandma!
Who's that Bass guitarist?
What song is this? Also where can I find this on Spotify!?
The Nag
...agarren su asiento y no se levanten.
Jim Beard: playing wonderfully...piano sounds dreadful...good fun
Truly! But don't forget Gray Grainger too, all four are world class musicians, if anyone is.
Do you know who it is?
Look up Pete Zeldman or Virgil Donati and prepare to be amazed!
