Dennis is a drum book! Planet Earth is my favorite Dennis recording. The song, Overtones of China, pretty much encapsulates Dennis and is a wonderful song.
@@batouttahell454 everyone has their own preferences, aptitudes and priorities. Some people just aren't interested in reading or struggle too much. If Dennis Chambers doesn't have to read, then other people don't have to either.
Dont fool, yourself dude. Only a select handful of drummers can hear without reading. Good luck getting any job recording other's music in a studio. Reading make any musician a better musician because you can transcribe parts you want to learn and write your own ideas down to save. y@Joethedrummer
Start very, very slow with a metronome. Keep raising the tempo until it makes it uncomfortable to play then back down. Just play them to a metronome. Easy peasy
Always great to see DC but experiments don't always work out well. I do believe that I had a better conversation with Dennis in the stairwell back stage at a high school auditorium JM & the Free Spirits gig in NC
Dennis I think blew the Drummer World's mind when he became the first guy to catch up with Cobham. Up to that time, no one could match Cobham's, speed technical prowess, and completely flawless technique. Dennis was the first guy, when the Blue Matter John Scofield album came out, where the Drum Cummunity's collective jaws dropped to the floor, where everyone looked at each other in disbelief and said, "Omigod! this guy's as good as Cobham!" Many can argue that Dennis took what Cobham had, and even expanded upon THAT level of work. EVERYONE was shedding on that Dennis Chambers Serious Moves DVD. I mean, for a lot of drummers, it was kind of like, "If you were on a deserted island with a drum kit, and you could only have one, count 'em one, drum video what would it be?", and everyone would go, Serious Moves, along with the Scofield solos, in a heartbeat. EVERYONE was shedding Trim, by Scofield. ah...the days before Moises....
It's really annoying to have him playing while talking i wanted to hear dennis relaxed and pleasantly answering your questions you don't need to be different... bad concept!
I know your just having a laugh...but....Not a good format my man. Too intense too. Yes, eye contact is grt, but u gotta lock off occasionally. Don't think Dennis enjoyed himself at all.
Totally respect your views but Dennis loved it and enjoyed it not being the normal interview format. These are just a bit of fun and as there is something else going on and one take videos i think you get to see the real guest.
@drumclips appreciate your reply. I'm thinking u misread Dennis expression on his face when he said....."do i have to keep playing...."?. He was wanting u to say, no. Made obvious by his expression and tone. But....
Hendricks hahá ! Wasn't meant to be. I 'm pretty sure though that Hendricks would have enough of Chambers quiet quickly . Too egocentric and stubborn. Just a feeling .
Good to see Dennis in better health.❤
”Birds of fire” - best answer ever! 🙏🏻🤩
LOVED this! Dennis keep Groovin'! Saw Tony with Vinnie and Calhoun at a Zildjian day in I think it was 1994. It was fantastic!
He cinched it with me when he said Tony Williams, man after my own heart 🤗

“Loud Jazz” one of my personal favs.
What a legend 👍
Une grande référence ce batteur
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you - Dennis does speak the truth
Dennis is such an impressive man!
"I don't have drum books" 😁 Brilliant. Dennis is doing OK nonetheless.
I think that he still cant read notes
@@dietersteinhardt2553 I didn't know that. That's a great inspiration to people who don't want to or can't learn to read.
Why limit yourself?? Reading isn't that hard

drum hero !
Such a gentleman and a wise human being. And a bad motherf***er.
I wish he explains more about how he practice those 5 rudiments , if I want to know them, there's lots of books and videos about rudiments

Hey the playing cuts through your questions I like the concept but it’s hard to tell what y’all are saying maybe my speakers suck 😅
Favourite comment..” do I have to keep doing this?”
That's how you master anything... It has to become second nature

Lenny says hi
Victor Wooten and my man Bob Franceschini…flam tap..flam tap🙄🎶🎵 🥁
how can he take a drum book..? He Doesn't Read Or Study From Books...
What was the Album Dennis would take? Didn‘t get it.
Birds of Fire, Mahavishnu Orchestra
@@ps91worshipdrumsrr Thanks a lot 🙏🏻
This is really great but I wish the audio was louder.
Excellent answer, not excellent question ⁉️
Dennis looks like 40❤❤❤❤
✌🙏💜🙂

He was very relaxed, but if you don't like the concept thats fine.
@@drumclips We already know that those guys can play while talking, chewing gum , singing etc. There is no point on doing that!
What pad is that?
@@thomasm.1179it’s a Reflexx
Yeah man, I agree that was not the greatest way to interview a drumming legend.
Dennis said to never use a pad - only play on pillows.
This video made me think my toilet kept flushing. Wtf is that noise?
이 아저씨는 늙질 않내 ㅋㅋㅋ
As talented as he is, i can't help but wonder if it's all worth it FINANCIALLY!!!?
What do you mean?
You must not be a drummer or a serious one if your asking a dumb question like that
Is ANYTHING in life worth it financially?
His net worth is $37 million. What you think?
Glad he stopped playing to actually have an interview. Cute concept but expired quickly...

Stupid, stupid, stupid interview idea. Never again please. We aren’t 6 year olds.
Silly way of interviewing sorry.
Think you miss the point which is expelaned in the description but thats cool.
I don't mean this to be offensive but drum corps kids hands are about a million times better. Just sayin'.
You think so,huh…LOL
interviewer is annoying.
