Great video log! We were lucky enough to enjoy FL once a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Living vicariously through your logs! Love your HI and No CA logs as they are our base. Keep it up! Also, your So CA logs are great as we visit often!
Thank you so much. We try to keep it interesting and informative. But, we thought that this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that we just had to share.
Very down to earth review!!!
Thank you!
Very good point about price points and great food. If a persons only take away from an amazing dining experience is how much it costs.. you’ve missed the point of great food. Sure there are sadly very very expensive restaurants (Salt Baes for example) which are just out to rip you off. From what I can tell though Thomas Keller has always been about curating a dining experience which is extraordinary. Great video! Subscribed!
Thank you! Yes, many expensive restaurants are just. . .expensive. And, when you look at restaurant ratings, in certain areas they just rank the really expensive restaurants as the best. But the point of having good food and a good restaurant experience is the food and the experience. There are some amazing restaurants that are dirt cheap, but sadly, many do not give them the credit they deserve BECAUSE they are not expensive. Sometimes, an expensive restaurant can be fantastic (like The French Laundry). But one does not always equal the other. BTW, re: Keller's other restaurants, we like Bouchon, but have had mixed experiences at Ad Hoc.
Good review, friendly And a good advice in the end for all of us to remember.
Thank you. We had a great time, and we were very, very drunk.
@@steveandyoung Your advice at the end of the video is a very good reminder. I am going this Saturday there and I am looking forward to enjoy it.
@@binibequer Going in with the right state of mind, I'm sure you will enjoy yourselves!
Yeah I could tell when the wine kicked in 😂 but I’m glad u enjoyed your experience that’s what it’s all about.
Looking back at it now, I realize that it was a truly unforgettable experience.
Outstanding video! Very well done ✔️ 👍
Thank you. We were a little worried about the quality, since we were so drunk at the end. I had not been that drunk in 30 years.
Really interesting video 👏👏👏
Thank you. We got quite drunk that evening, but the food was fantastic and it was a great time.
You really should have champagne with the oysters and pearls.
We did.
@EpicureanRd. - Where to go, What to eat At 7 minutes into the video, you said you had a French sauvignon blanc with the oysters and pearls.
@@jimklemens5018 Ah, it's been awhile. We had a Champagne at the beginning of the evening, so we went with another wine with the oysters. They go well with a lot of wines, including a nice Chablis or Sancerre. Or a Portuguese Vinho Verde or Italian Prosecco. As well as Champagne.
@EpicureanRd. - Where to go, What to eat I have probably drank more Salon champagne (hundreds of bottles of 1985 and 1988) than anyone on the planet and I can assure you that it goes perfectly with the oysters and pearls.
Suh-lone champagne.
What year was it?
Unfortunately, I don't remember. It was good, though. I preferred the Montrachet later in the evening.
Wasting money is having so much food that you’re stuffed, so much wine that you’re drunk and can’t even enjoy the food anymore, too much rich food and judging from that menu and those wines this was way over $1000 per person. Having half that food and half that wine split into two different meals would be a better experience. I mean I love chocolate mousse and cheesecake, but I’m not gonna have both of them at once. That’s kinda like this lol😅
This was a celebration of a situation where we helped her to get a lot of money. She was showing her appreciation with this bacchanalian feast. So, a little overindulgence was appropriate in this instance.
Please hold the wine glasses by the stem.
As drunk as we were, we were lucky that we were able to hold the wine glasses at all! 😀
You look as good as the food….
😀Why, thank you! I told you I'd be wearing a suit jacket in this one. Just don't expect that from me too much. I prefer being a slob. 😉
