- The RED Hydrogen One comes with a hefty price tag. Is the tech included in this Holographic phone worth the extra dollars? After many delays the RED Hydrogen one is finally here and ready to be durability tested. We'll see if that holographic 4 view display can be scratched, and what the Red Phone body is made from. RED has bragged about Kevlar, aluminum, and titanium... Lets see if those will hold up over time.
Its super awesome to see new players come into the smartphone world. Especially trying new things. If RED could tone down the buzzwords, be more realistic about their advertising, and drop the price a few hundred dollars... this would be a fantastic phone!

We've had these screens for 7 years and Zack is the first one to figure it out. Fucking insane. You can't even blame a lack of people with 3D screens either considering the fact that over 73 million 3DS units have been out in the wild.

@@TheMyleyD If you've used a 3DS it's like that. The effect sort of shows up on video when tilting the screen back and forth but doesn't really convey the full effect. For that you'll have to use your two eyes to see the intended effect.
The preview Zach showed is close to how it looks in person. You can find demo devices at Verizon stores.
It's neat but its not that great and there's no real purpose to it

Yeah RED is great but this phone is not worth $500 let alone $1300. They are sending customers 2 because the mark up was so high they can make a decent profit even with 2 for 1...
Only stupid people buy these shit for that much. I also think youtubers should go for some good $5000 camera instead of wasting money on $50000+ red cameras.
RED is literally the definition of the high end cinema camera, that's why the charge so much. Only thing comparable are camera rigs that cost half a million. Still doesn't justify the phone cost though.

I like the external appearance of 7yrs old HTC phone. And it is really amazing that HTC had done something new 7 years back itself.
A big salute to HTC's innovative idea.
It is the plastic and carbon fiber stickers together with the small misleading speaker that really hurts to see. They should have hardened the fiber, use their own camera sensors and done research to the HTC. They must have been just like me ' wait this already excited this way?' or it is even more disappointing. The titanium is going to be tough it is just so incredibly hard.
