Tabs for the intro are now in the course!
I am trying reset my password but not receiving the link from the site? I want to purchase 80s Rock course! I have tried my two email addresses. Can you help?
Sorry it's giving you trouble @@nicholasvero4075 Shoot me an email support@robertbakerguitar.com
@@RobertBakerGuitar I have already purchased the course. How can I get those tabs? Thanks!
Throw in some open string harmonics, wham bar wiggle, and a Boss Chorus and you're in the zone - the 80s zone!
"I don't use much Chorus these days; I think I used it all up in the 80's" - Dann Huff
I can actually feel my hair becoming more bouffant the more I keep coming back to this video series🤔
Terrific content, Robert😎👊
I know right! I was losing my hair before this video, now it's thick and creamy like those riffs 🤣🤣
My favourite era of rhythm guitar, such elegant chord voicings. 😎👍
Lay it down was another great riff!!!. Warren is criminally underrated. Great course Robert!!!!!. Keep up the great work 🤘
Love '80's rock for sure. What an awesome time to be alive!
LOVE me some chorus-y 80's riffs, especially with the 'pedaling'! While my main interests lean a bit harder/heavier, I grew up with Ratt and Dokken and the like, and they were SO influencial to my guitar playing as a beginner. I wholeheartedly applaud 80's week! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Chorus, delay and chunky distortion are all you need for the win.
The intro was like a blend of Megadeth and Primal Fear, really awesome. Bought the course!
Immediately thought of Megadeth at the start with that progression.
Was thinking Empire-era Queensrÿche myself 🤟🤟
It’s basically Back For More - RATT
Rob has those dynamic metal tones that I adore. He’s a fantastic player.
Came back here to say I bought your 80s guitar course. It’s one of those courses that three lessons in has lit lightbulbs in my brain. The kind of tuition that only comes from a genuine enthusiast that’s been on the journey. It’s excellent, and for 30 bucks it was a steal.
I immediately thought of Ratt and Warren D when I heard Robert start. The info contained in this video suuports my thought that Ratt's Round and Round has the 80s best riff and progression in it. It is magical
This reminds me a lot of what Rush would do. Alex Lifeson would use open strings and pedal tones a lot.
Bought the course too. It's not so easy to analyze all the 80s legacy to make your own way, so it's really important when someone can share their experience. Thank you for doing that.
Thanks for the latest short. Purchased your 80’s lessons when I received the notification. Now I need some time to start the course.
I've been writing songs since 1980 and have always loved using open strings. I sometimes use an open tuning that really brings the open strings alive
"Killer of Giants" by Ozzy is a great example of this lesson.
Totally cool and spot on! I enrolled in the course, looking forward to it!
Great playing as always Robert!
Love your kick ass 80s stuff! Your tone and style are so cool! Just grabbed the 80s course, can’t wait to dig in with your help!
I love the way you break it down. Thank you so much for sharing!
Awesome little lesson; exactly what I was looking for! Thanks a lot, man! 👍🤘
bought the course, love the 80s looking forward to diving into it this weekend :)
This was a great lesson! Yes, I love these riffs as well. Great job and playing and tone!
Glad to see you back in 80's mode for a bit. Found your channel over a year ago looking for examples and lessons of 80's style riffing, etc. Always appreciate all of your content, but definitely love your videos on 80's guitar. Horns up! 🤘🤘
Killer riffage Robert !!! Love this
That charv is a beaut
It’s next on my list I’m saving for one . Lol
The charvel with that dirty ibanez maple neck would be the shit
Nice abreev bro
I think you misspelled Ibby there
Great opening shred.
And a great discussion/lesson overall 🤟
Super cool riff tip!! More please!!
Very cool. Thanks. It's great seeing you have so much fun with a guitar.
I love the tone - very crisp!
I just bought 80s course. I can't express how much I appreciate the incredible content and your teaching style! I love the way you breaks down complex concepts makes learning so enjoyable. Thank you very much, Robert! Next station, Rock N Roll! \m/
Love seeing that OG RG! I have a lefty black '92 550 and I have also played the varnish off the entire maple fretboard...
You’re a really good teacher, dude. Like how you explained it simple as peddle on the A string. I never knew that was what made that sound cause I’m so used to do it on the low string for modern music
80’s riffs, chorus, and Rob teaching…💯💯💯💯
Great lesson - I always noodle around with the 80's sound in the key of A and E so I can play around with the open strings - just love the 80's sound and never tire of it...thanks for sharing your obvious appreciation of it as well...great fun !!!
Great exercises for 80's riffs!
All of what we do on guitar is super simple just sounds really hard …Especially the 80s stuff ..I absolutely love it when I get on a grove riff and spice it up !!! I love it !!! Thanks so much for proving how simple it can be you sounded amazing brother…
Love you brother!!! Outstanding!!!
That was 42 seconds of superb riffing and soloing. Great intro!
That open b making use of the major 2nd interval is great because it can be used in most settings whether major or minor… fun stuff and makes the guitar take up a lot more sonic space.
Awesome video Robert
VERY GOOD VID! There is some great music out there but even now today my favorite music is what I listened to as a teen in the early 80's! I feel blessed to have witnessed in person these metal gods creating iconic music on the stages. I attended hundreds of concerts and saw and heard them all and I am very pleased to see that a younger generation of musicians hears and appreciates what I have always felt is the best music ever produced in the world, LONG LIVE THE 80's !!!!! You got a new subscriber!
Love this video and the one you did the 80s scale has really took my playing to next level I was stuck with pentatonic and my solos sounded bluesy I like that sound but wanted that 80s metal sound so thank you and keep them coming
Love your 80s course ! 😎🎸
Love that tone Robert!!! You always come in hot with fantastic riffs. Growing up in the 80’s was truely the greatest time for hard rock. Nothing compares in my opinion. Can’t wait to dive into the course! My Amplitube George Lynch preset is just waiting for me!!!!
Sound so good, such a good and useful lesson
I'm just amazed at how much my progress was slowed by knowing barre chords before working with triads. With full barre chords, the options were so much more limited, but as soon as I broke them down into diads and triads, the whole instrument came alive! Your work here is a great example of this. All the great guitar players knew this, but I didn't know and so just played barre chords all the time. Glad I know now.
Agreed 100%! Barre chords are like Lego bricks glued together. If you had them all separately from the beginning, creativity would flow much more easily. Take notes, guitar teachers ;-)
same.
Sick playing! That Charvel is f’n awesome!
Excellent Robert.
this is a wonderful vid - i still love that stuff - i had no idea what they were doing. so simple and such great music
This is a great video. Love your opening mini Tune!
5:05 sounds like Dokken or Queensryche. Metal truly reached it's prime in the 80's and early 90's.
the course is awesome thank you
Brilliant, thank you!!!
"Back For More". Love that song! LOL. I definitely heard some OZZY as in "Killer Of Giants" while playing through your chorus SE.
Thx for the Def Lepard lesson!
I’m loving this series!
Hey my man good Vidio I’m somewhat of an 80s child so I can relate to everything you are doing. I love how you explain things because people don’t understand things but you explain them very well to them. I’m digging your stuff you’re an excellent player.
Awesome sound and riffs! The 80´s guitar riffs are the best. Like Ratt´s Lay It Down my fav🤘🏻
I REALLY like that half step walk down riff at @2:00. Talk to me more about that and where have I heard that at before??? Killer lesson dude... you rawk!
You da man!
Great lesson thanks
It's incredible to sit and think of all the songs that are pretty doing exactly what you are talking about. 2 that pop in my ming are Close My Eyes Forever and Modern Day Cowboy. Both use open strings like this. Great video, I really enjoyed it
Definitely buying the course payday, been trying to feel passionate about the guitar again for a long time and I think this might do the trick!
Really nice. Thank you
Maestro not only are you a brilliant player, you make learning interesting and fun. You always make us better!
Some THE best guitar work ever. 80's still influential. Makes me drive way to fast, great for beating the tar outta any dirtbike or your 4x4. I'm 60 now and love crankin my 100w katana combo for my neighbors and bang out some 80's jams.
That gives off some Crimson Glory vibes!
You just sold me your course brotha !!!! Badass video 🤘
love it. great share here
Picked up the new course a few days back and absolutely loving it btw!
Thank you homie!
Love the 80s riffs 🤘🏻
I do this kinda by default, and have been ever since the VH, Ratt years. I mix it in with other styles, and it works very well. Even in clean mode and mainly by accident. The audience loves it because I don't try to show off, but I use it to "dress up" common songs and use it sparingly. It works. Never really gave it this much thought though..
That was awesome!!
Grrreat subject ...Love it!!!
Oh man, this is exactly me when I'm noodling! Guess I'm severely influenced by the decade I grew up in. Thanks Robert!
Love it thanks Robert!!! I almost felt like I was at the Richfield Coliseum near Akron, Ohio!!!
Thanks for introducing me to Giant (the band). Pure 80s and I love it.
Awesome Dimartini signature! And one band who loved using those 2 middle strings in riffs was Def leppard songs! From Billys Got A Gun to White Lightning always loved covering songs from them with Phil Collens
It is great to see you playing the Ibanez! That was a killer intro! 80s were the best!
Another video and well done as usual.
This reminds me of the style of Dream Theater in their 90's albums and why it's one of my favorite music of all.
The clear tones, no 7 strings, tough riffs, but still you can feel the influence of Hard Rock mixed with Heavy Metal and something else.
Damn! I have to start investing in some gear!
That was gnarly, dude. 🤘
I just bought the course :) Looking forward to learn more about this style
Thank you!!!
Great stuff! Bought the course a few days ago and looking forward to blasting some ‘80’s riffage!
YES!!! Thanks so much
Love it!!🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank You So Much 😊 🙏🤘🤘✅
The tone! ❤
Love that yellow Kramer. Red Rocker vibes!
So awesome!
Grew up in the 80 kick ass tunes man
Wow that whole guitar riff at the end sounds so “Dokken” back than in the 80’s! Cool man!
Hey Rob, it's really time for me to subscribe to your channel. Thanks for 80's!!!!
Love the Warren guit fiddle
A little off track but your courses have been amazing with my new guitar journey. I could never use a pick, but your melodic picking course fixed that. Playing bass for 30+ years gave me good fingers but your courses are really cementing my knowledge for guitar. Now, I am learning Rush, Tom Petty and 38 Special, rhythm and lead. Its been a fast four months but things are coming quickly and a real blast.
Thank you. I had to get this course.
Thank you for this Don. I’m really glad that the courses have helped in some way. It means a lot man.
Sounds reeeeally cool!
Love this video !! Anytime you bring out some "Warren" I am in !!!
The snakeskin Charvel is my all-time dream guitar!! My dude!! ❤❤❤
The intro had some serious early Yngwie vibes
Sweet riff!
Man dude that intro was really awesome!!! U look too young to have played in the Eighties but you play as good as anyone from back in the day !!! Killer !
ibanez and charvel....so on brand. love it
