    Fun fact about Helvetia! Some people mistake Helvetia as a German settlement but it is actually Swiss. This is why the Swiss flag 🇨🇭 is used in Helvetia and also on the Helvetia themed camp objects. The Swiss flag is the Red/White cross flag 🇨🇭 and note they did not use the German black red and yellow flag 🇩🇪. Fasnacht festival is also a Swiss celebration from their town of Basel, and has absolutely nothing to do with Germany. There were a very small amount of German settlers that did arrive after the Swiss, but according to game lore, they left Helvetia 97 years before the bombs even fell in 2077 ☺️
    Deeper dive:
    The town was settled way back in the 18th century (1869), and all settlers left in the 19th century (approx 1980) and were replaced with US Citizens. The only thing remaining of Swiss/German culture and influence was a few buildings like the ‘candle haus’ and the town name itself of ‘Helvetia’. And then the bombs fell a long time after that. This is similar to how the English colonised and settled in East Coast USA in the 16th century (modern day CT, NY, MA) and gave those areas some English town names which are still used today, but the old English people moved on in the 17th century (1783) and don’t live there anymore. It’s how colonisation works, people moved there at one point in history, left their influence, and moved on. It doesn’t mean that those people still live there hundreds of years later. This is why there is no English people in Fallout 76 and there has been no Germans in the game until this odd out of place update.
    Fallout 76 Wiki:
    The Fallout 76 Wiki page containing the game lore for Germany was also edited a few days after the release of Skyline Valley so that it now reads to make sense with the new characters and story. Prior to the update that information was considered cannon until the new update had broken the lore.

    As a long term Fallout 76 fan this update was like 1 step forward 2 steps back. I only get on to farm dailies, fasnacht, and the new story on occasion. The new pass sucks and I’m simply grinding it for completion. I cannot play without my game crashing or freezing from simply fast traveling or opening up a menu. It wouldn’t take that much effort to actually test the content they put out but it’s clearly showing this time around that they care even less in the current moment. The only bug they patched fast was the pickaxe glitch because if people were able to get everything they wanted easily their player count would drop and in turn their Fallout 1st subscriber count. The content was alright at best, but due to the sheer amount of bugs I really don’t see myself playing how I used to until if they fix everything and give us some exciting “Original” content. I could tap for hours but I’ll wrap it up and leave it at the fact that they need to listen to their community a little more and cater to their wants otherwise when the Fallout Show hype dies down some more a lot of the new players will leave once they are aware of everything. Bethesda has always been notorious for their lackluster quality control but this is a little embarrassing this time around considering how far the game has come. The developers got a little too complacent with their jobs working on the game and decided to d*ck around instead of doing their jobs.

      Same for me. The rewards for the new season suck, my game has issues more often, and it just doesn’t seem that fun anymore. Plus I also really got into warframe so that’s why I don’t really play much anymore

    I watched the video, thinking it was another clickbait anti FO76 video, but I was wrong.
    I've been playing since release, and have racked up over 7k hours in the game.
    You're spot on, about everything!
    We love the game so much, despite Bethesda's open disinterest in basic maintenance.
    Mischief Night is an excellent example, of a company, who couldn't care less about their own game!
    It was an awesome event!
    That was so buggy, they took it out, because they were more interested in other things, like Starfield...
    Now, 4 years later, I hear rumors, they could be bringing it back, ugh...
    I could get a team together, and develop an entire game in 4 years! Not just one broken event.
    Right now, the ONLY thing that's saving Fallout 76, is the TV show.
    Problem is, if they keep breaking the game, even the new players coming from the TV show, will lose interest quickly, leaving Bethesda scratching their collective bums, once again...

      Thank you sir! Yeah I read the same too that they could be bringing back mischief night after all this time 😝 I suspect that has something to do with the fact that they unlocked the 30fps frame rate on consoles now and it hits 60fps on PS5 and XSX so it will be more stable 🤷‍♂️ but damn man it really does suck when you love a franchise a lot and have to suffer due to a bad dev. I miss the Skyrim days when Bethesda was in it’s prime

      @@finnaflexofficial absolutely true, not to fling any names out there but several Ytubers have certainly been very forgiving with Bethesda after Microsoft invitation to the showcase in June. Thanks for your honesty. I don't know any other real player in 76 that would disagree with your overview. Keep up the great work.

    DLC was short and really just a couple of fetch quests here and there with a ok boss fight at the end, and some half decent new weapons. Seems like as long as I been playing fallout 76 that’s just how the game ends up being. I honestly don’t hop on for anything else but improving my camp at this point. Then there’s the stash capacity, makes it nearly impossible for non fallout 1st members to really keep anything they want. You have to constantly choose between having only 2-4 weapons you like to keep, and just trading the rest for modules. Makes it harder for people I know who just like to horde items or sell their weapons themselves.

    Dangerous Pastimes was infinitely spawning the mobs in some weird circumstances. I found it on a couple worlds where you could just sit on the power station, blast the 10 mobs that walked up to you, and they’d respawn in about 10 seconds & repeat

    I see things like seems on the terrain that makes it look rushed an the fact that is far to easy to play through in 6 hoursish an the scripting an the vault it's self is so small if a dev that glitching through walls an the fact is it's a rushed pos . I totally agree with you have said .

    Valid points. But I think a few key things to keep in mind. The 76 team consists of around 20-30 people, at least I think so as per the last time I looked into it. It might be different now. The team is on the smaller side regardless. The way the game keeps afloat is via the atomic shop, if that wasn't there the game wouldn't of made it this far. As for the season stuff, I finished the previous season with around a month to spare before we got this current one and I wasn't even trying to get through it. If I thought about it i did the dailies and such but there was absolutely 0 concentrated farming on my part. It just sort of happened. True not everyone can do that but its also impossible to pick a day and it be okay with everyone.
    As for the new season, I don't mind the battlepass style system, what I do mind is the theme of the season. Its lame. The rewards are lackluster with the new survival tent being the only thing on the entire list I want and Im currently sitting at level 65, again with no real effort behind it so I know sometime in the next week or so Ill get that then due to how bad the rest of it is I probably won't even use the tickets I end up unlocking until the very last day of the season. Overall its funny we're starting to get so many resource generating stations on our camps I don't even need to even think about food/water at all. Generally everytime I stop by my camp to drop off scrap or something else I have enough food/water waiting for me to more than sustain me until the next time I swing by and we got another one with the pimmican generator this season. I rarely even need to focus farm specific resources anymore. The last thing I needed to farm really was oil and now I've got the nodding donkey AND the butter churner going so have something like 10-20 oil waiting for me every time I come back.
    I think they need to up their design game in general for events. Meat week sucks... fasch sucks.. the masks are dumb so I don't really give a shit about getting glowing ones. I think they all look terrible. I was only doing it at a shot at the motorized butter churner and low and behold I got it last night so I doubt ill even show up to the event anymore.
    I liked the mothman equinox event, it at least felt interactive the entire time. What they really need to do is take what they did with radiation rumble or uranium fever and give us a bunch of different varities like that where we're constantly battling the entire time. I will drop everything that Im doing and go over to radiation rumble as soon as it pops up as its just about the best exp gains you can get from an event. I also like moonshine jamboree and eviction notice and its mainly because it feels WORTH the time to go and do it due to the amount of exp/scrap you get from them. If they retuned alot of the events to be more on par with those I think alot of people would be happier with events in general.
    As for the new area, its fine. Yeah I wasn't even trying to get through it quickly but did it in a single day even while stopping to do events and to look around the new zone. The story was meh, the characters were meh, some of the rewards were neat. Ticket to revenge has become a main weapon for me as has the bertha though I still switch over to my cremator alot. Im happy we got a decent size expansion to the map so its neat to have new areas to build camps, but it really is just more of the same. If they could dish out something like that every 6 months to a year it would be great but its probably going to be another couple of years before we see anything like this again.
    FO76, is a unique game. I just recently got back into it after a couple years away with it. Its just interesting enough to be a filler game for me while I'm waiting for other games to come out. Its way better than it used to be but I also realize this game is the red headed step child of bethesda. I will probably drop off the game for awhile but then come back to it again at some point as a filler once again

    I’ve been playing ’76 since the start on Xbox ( groan) & really loved it when it was a mess because there was so much boring stuff to do but also really good community feel about it. Now @8000 hrs later, I haven’t finished Atlantic City or Skyline. Daily Op’s & The Pitt are crap. Hate the new season, hate the way Bugthesda treat the players & am just looking an excuse to leave for good. In fact I started playing FO4 & it’s far better than all the ‘76 storylines put together.

    Agree with almost every point besides the German one, as the fallout series has talking trees to underground Chinese spy bases with mutated “dragons”. To a middle-aged scientist playing as a little girl in a simulation that you mentioned in the video. The idea of a rich German building a Vault-Tec rated vault hastily before the bomb’s fall is really not that weird to me. Furthermore, the idea of it being German in West Virginia makes way more sense than a good deal of other fallouts as the real town Helvetia, in West Virginia. Has a town population of mostly Swiss and German immigrants, with Fastnacht being a Christian tradition with major German roots in it (not saying I like the event, tho). So the idea of a rich person being on the outskirts in skyline valley outside Helvetia makes some more sense due to the previous world building in 76. However, I still enjoyed the video and hopefully this comment boosts it in the algo, have a good day, subbed.

    • @finnaflexofficial
      @finnaflexofficial  Місяць тому +1

      Thank you for the comment! FYI Helvetia was a Swiss/German settlement in 1869 WV. They all left a very long time ago - approx 97 years before the bombs dropped in 2077. When the bombs did hit there were only US citizens living there. Yes they lived there in the 18th century but it wasn’t for a long period of time according to the game lore and left in the 19th century. Similar to how the English colonised Eastern USA in the 16th century and left in the 17th century.

    Look, I'll admit that there were a ton of things that should have been done better. I just wonder how many people on PC are complaining about crashes and such when those of us on PS have had that constantly pre-update. One thing we all have to remember is this was free. How many other games oit there give free content and a season pass? Most charge for the game, the DLC, the pass, and sometimes even a service like 1st. It has issues but for how much you have to spend to play I'd say it's pretty dang good.

    • @finnaflexofficial
      @finnaflexofficial  Місяць тому +1

      Most people have told me they would rather pay to get better quality and longer content. Most game charge for the expansions and actually deliver quality content like ESO and FF. In FFXIV you have to pay $39.99 for the latest dlc but it’s 40 hours minimum and has graphics updates, dungeons, raids. Literally new everything. And considering you spend $39.99 in just 3 months of Fallout 1st subscription payments, they could have easily done better 👊 that’s more value than the entire game itself. On average per year they are making more than $90 per player. Currently they are easily hitting over 1M players per day based on data, so they are making million of dollars from fallout 1st alone, don’t forget it’s a 5 year old game with a 10 year old engine based on multiple more revenue streams like the atom shop. You cannot tell me they couldn’t have done better. They could have very easily done better but they are lazy, like how they released Starfield and 30fps and called it a ‘creative decision’ then went back on it months later and patched it to 60fps when they got criticism🤣

      It sucks and it’s kind of a noob weapon hence why it is given away for free to all players. They don’t give out good weapons in events, only average weapons. If they are deemed ‘good’ they are nerfed in the PTS which is what happened to the ‘Ticket to Revenge’ Railway rifle. The V63 Bertha is a 2S FFR which is bad on this gun as it has only 15 rounds in the chamber. Those 15 rounds will be gone in less than 1 second then you need to reload. You are missing out on more kills than you are gaining. I know because I used to have Bloodied FFR thinking it was god roll until I realised how bad it was. You should only be aiming for Quad crit or Quad FFR variants of this weapon, everything else is trash, hence why it is given away for free to all players. You can roll a better Tesla in minutes using legendary modules, and with the new update coming you will be able to craft your own, but my advice is don’t waste your time on anything other than quad with the Tesla rifle.
