Excellent vid Andy ….you really have got some Beautiful open country riding up there ! Me and the other half are coming up to Askrigg next summer to stay and we are bringing the EBikes…..I’ve already told her WE are doing some of your routes…..this latest vid being one 👍 look forward to your next post
Thanks mate. I’ve plenty for you to go at. If you get a few hours to your self on one of the days. I highly recommend the harkerside / castle Bolton ride. It’s brilliant.
Yea…that looks an excellent ride . I looked on your Komoot route and I could start that ride from the village of Redmire ….only 15 mins from where we are staying 👍
Another fantastic video Andy 👍👍 I did the classic scarhouse loop back in November after seeing some of your videos of the area. Wish I'd known those extra descents when I did it. Was my first time mtbing up Nidderdale, don't normally get to go down there, but I need to get back and do some more exploring, it is a fantastic area. All the best, have a good New year and I look forward to seeing more of your rides in 2023 👍
I’ve always just done the classic route like you tony. Only just tried these 2 new descents. Will always do them now. Come give them a try. The loop is a lot better than the classic. Happy new year to you and your family. Have a good one
Wonderful trip, you are a lucky man, we used to do some of it on road bikes years ago, I think we pushed more than we road, but still enjoyed the scenery. One tiny thing they are called “Shooting Lodges” not huts.
When you dropped into the 'new' descent - it looks like slightly before you drop right, there is a right fork slightly thats a marked bridleway on the OS map (at the 7.39 mile mark on your komoot route). Is this bit any good, better, or worse? Looks like you get a longer if less steep descent, meeting with your route below the gate you mentioned.
Great video as always Andy, sorry I’ve not commented on your videos mate, lost my Mum a couple of weeks ago and not been in the mood to do anything lately 😞
@@TrailFinder thanks Andy, it’s been the worst time of my life, should have been celebrating her 83rd birthday today but instead we’re grieving her passing 😞
Wow classic twist on a classic i have been riding since the 90s
Are you going to try it next time Chris?
as long as you keep banging the XC drum, we will all watch.brilliant.
Cheers Gary
