    Made a few of these little yew bud vases this week. Always sell well at the craft shows and its a great little beginers project.

    Dec 2023,
    G'day
    Love your last words to put ya phone down and pick up a gouge.
    Love it and you vase and encouragement, I also wait till I'm up to it, takes a few hrs to get mobile enough, due to bloody health, yet this year is my 1st time turning for Xmas 🎁🎁🎁🎁 so I've been learning vases, egg cups, and tealight holders, thanks for sharing and love your words, personally for my it's go listen to my death metal music as it helps with my brain injury and then it's make as many shavings as possible.
    Cheers 🍻 Matt
    Merry Christmas

    Nice little vase. How much do they sell for at a craft show?

      Depends, but somewhere between £15 & £20. Thanks for watching

    So was sanding sealer the only thing that went on the bark section? I've got some small silver birch branches that would make nice bud vases in this style, but I haven't tried to keep the bark on any of it yet.

      @BarrysWoodCreations  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes that is correct. Sometimes I have tried unsuccesfully to keep the bark on pieces but generally I don't have a problem. Thanks for watching. 👍

    Do you need to stabilize the wood with PEG?

    • @BarrysWoodCreations
      @BarrysWoodCreations  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for your question. The piece was fully dried (9%MC) and sealed with a cellulose sanding sealer before applying a finish.

    Ya lost me with the first note of music. I don't know of anyone who pulls up a turning video to listen to tunes.

    • @BarrysWoodCreations
      @BarrysWoodCreations  10 місяців тому +1

      I appreciate your comment but I respectivly disagree! many viewers like music to accompany the video, thats why I and many others do it, a very high percentage of turning videos uploaded to YT have music.
