- Final thoughts about SEVENS:
I love this series. It may have started a little slowly, but the final 25 episodes may be one of my favourite Yu-Gi-Oh episodes in a while. And the ending is so damn good.
Yu-Gi-Oh SEVENS - 8.5/10
Moral of the story: Most of you, including me, thought SEVENS was going to be garbage, because it looked kinda bad. But, it's actually pretty damn good. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!

This duel is easily top 3. Also, despite Yuga having the worst W-L record out of all protagonists, he defeated the rival and main villain in 1 episode! No one has ever done it!
Yuma is actually worse
@@jonmehalla5612 True, since he never defeated Kaito in Zexal.
@@shadowdash5839 no he means in terms of win-loss record if you count his offscreen losses.
@@JunkoEnoshima. I actually count every duel on/off screen. I know that in terms of skill Yuma isn't actually worse but his win/ loss ratio is a bit more disappointing
@@JunkoEnoshima. you have your opinion I have mine, I am not going to judge you
Otis using alt art of the sevens road monsters and yuga using his friends ace monsters was such a great touch, kind of remindes me of yusie using all tye signer dragons in his duel with zone
Yeah. Yuga with his friends' ace monsters and Yusei with the signer dragons.
The fact that Sevensgias gained power from all of his friends and their aces was an excellent touch, just like how Quasar and Stardust gained power from all the other Signer Dragons during that duel. Otes took an...alternate path regarding how he used Sevens Road. Fitting for his pessimistic view of the fate of dueling and his lack of true allies, his Dark Sevens gained power solely from all the DARKs he sent to his graveyard, and he had quite a lot of them. In the end, however, his Dark Sevens was still too weak to beat Sevensgias, and Yuga proved that Rush Duels weren't going to go the same way Goha Duels did.
Sevens proved to me that a silly series doesn't have to suddenly go "all your friends are dead" to become more serious or be good. I was waiting for it to pull GX season 3/Zexal season 3 on us, but I'm not mad it didn't in the end.
Darn right. A silly show can just be silly.
How did Sevens end?
@@bluegetsuga8396 yuga was lost in space for 2 years and return to earth
I was never bothered by the art style of Sevens. While it was very much different than any other series we've had, I was willing to give it a chance. It may have been very weird or silly at some points, the rest of the series more than made up for it. Interesting characters, interesting duels, and lots of brand new archtypes.
I give this series a solid 8/10.
Man, we could not have known the sheer continuity nightmare this duel and its aftermath would cause to the whole Sevens / Go Rush Timeline.
This Duel is easily in my top 5 and although Sevens will never be my favorite of the Yu-Gi-Oh shows it's still one I will rewatch like all the others a solid 7/10 from me, very exited for Go Rush now
This Duel give me a similar vibe like the "Yusei vs Z-one" with the protagonist using the aces of him Friends.
I finally got my wish for seven roads magician and rush dragon dragears to fuse and the end result fantastic
Kinda like Dark Magician Girl and Timaeus.
@@hack9210 I noticed that
The series began with Yuga facing Otes, and it ends with them battle one last time.
I never doubted SEVENS one bit.
Ditto.
All the show needed was a chance. I'm glad some people were willing to give it one.
This is very good
Honestly…Sevens is the only Yugioh show I am not finishing. This just isn’t what Yugioh is supposed to be to me, which is “Do Random Stuff” the anime. Eh…maybe Go Rush will pull me back in but yeah…Sevens I have a distaste for.
it got back to a structured story by the end but I do understand what you mean. Some parts were just do random stuff and that isn't for everyone.
Yeah
What exactly was Otes’ plan for world domination?
He was basically using this duel to decide if dueling deserved to continue to exist. He set all of this up, gave Yuga the Sevens Road cards, to lead to this moment. If he won, the backlash from their duel would completely destroy the Rush Duel robot. After that, he'd let the backlash resulting from Goha Yuga's actions overload and destroy the base dueling programs on the moon then erase the data, completely destroying duels worldwide. He felt that adults and selfishness had tainted the game beyond repair, so he was just gonna completely wipe the slate, using Yuga and the others both as pawns to achieve that goal and as a method of testing if he was wrong about the state of dueling. Even Yuga Goha was merely a pawn in his plan.
@@Debater Well, he WAS wrong about the state. And would you compare this to when Z-One tried to destroy New Domino City to prevent the Meklord Apocalypse because he believed humanity's future hung in the balance?
@@joeyblum2533 Not *quite* as severe, but there are similarities. Dueling makes up a *major* part of their society, it would be quite a blow if it was suddenly completely erased. Otes felt that if the game he'd made for youth to love and grow with, that had become such an important thing in the world, had become so utterly tainted and restricted, then duels were no longer serving their purpose, and he might as well bring it all crashing down. Zone was doing what he was doing because he hoped things might get better in the future, that the dark future might be prevented at the cost of this one city. Otes did what he did because he was tired of seeing things get worse, and figured completely erasing things was better than letting this go on. He may have hoped things would get better after that, but the primary goal was completely obliterating his corrupted creation the city was now so entangled with.
@@Debater Society gets corrupted no matter what. It happened in The Hunger Games. It happened in Maze Runner. Who is Otes to decide what should stay and what should get destroyed? At least Yuga stopped him
@@Debater Let's go over each villain plan, shall we?
Zorc (DM)-reconquer ancient Egypt and plunge the world into eternal night
Nightshroud (GX)-absorb all people into the World of Darkness
Z-One (5D's)-summon forth the Divine Temple to destroy New Domino City
Don Thousand (Zexal)-fuse Earth with Barian World and control the Numeron
Code to put the universe in the palm of his hand
Z-ARC (ARC-V)-fuse Yuya, Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri to be resurrected and once again threaten the world with his dragon army
AI (VRAINS)-download himself into an army of androids to wipeout humanity
Otes (Sevens)-end all dueling by destroying Goha's main Duel Server on the moon. Manipulated Yuga and his friends to do so
Who knows who will be the baddie of Go Rush?
I would have preferred more vrains, would have probably given us more cool link designs
Overall thoughts on Sevens :
It pains me to say this but Sevens is my least favourite yu gi oh.
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed a lot of Sevens but compared to the other six I'm sorry but it just doesn't stand a chance.
I can say tho that it surely did better than everyone was expecting after seeing the trailers.
Now let's get to the categories :
-Duels) Worst in the series.
Initially I didn't care for rush duels but when they introduced Maximum I really enjoyed it, until they reintroduced fusions.
Idk why but after the Goha siblings arc I really got tired of the rush duels format.
Some duels I liked enough to say they rival some of the good ones in the other series but most are just forgettable.
Some had unexpected results tho.
-Characters) Surprising good characters overall.
Yuga was a fine protagonist, Luke was hilarious and Romin was pretty cool.
I didn't like Gakuto that much and most of the antagonists were subpar at best but I liked the six siblings.
Actual good female characters, NANI!!!!
The best thing this show did by far is the utilization of the side characters.
-Esthetic) This show just looks terrible and generic.
The worsts by far are the CG models of the monsters, they just look atrocious.
The designs of the characters are "acceptable" but the design of the monsters ranges from fine to horrible (except baseball Utopia and n99, those are fun).
-Music)......................... No.
-Comedy) Yes please, give me more!
-Nostalgia) Nothing to complain too much, good all around.
I just wish we got XYZ's too.
Baseball Utopia is the best thing ever.
-Structure) The 13 or so episodes arcs really crippled this show, enough said.
Overral Sevens did great at some of the things the yu gi oh anime is famously bad for, but to me it really struggles with the basics of the genre.
Because of that to me it feels very disconnected from the other shows and didn't feel like a yu gi oh too much.
If I had to say my favourite duel was Yuga vs Luke round 2 or Yuga vs Lukeman, one or the other.
Tho these duels aren't even in my top 50.
For the next series I hope we get better visuals and music, other sommoning methods and no 13 episode arc deadline.
I hope Sevens strengths remain as well.
What are you on about the Sevens ost and op slap hard!
湊合看😂幾乎都在亂演隨便啦
