Thanks Polly - I do lots of pattern feedback through my chatty vlogs too. Let me know if there are any patterns or companies that you are curious about. I can't guarantee that I have them but will keep it in mind when choosing 😊
Having recently returned to sewing after 30 year break and acquiring more curves, i have found that materials and patterns a bit of a mine field, thank you for taking the time to put together such excellent information
As I said before I’ve gone back to your beginnings and am catching up on all the videos. This one is brilliant. I am back into sewing garments after a number of years and didn’t know much about Indie patterns. This was very informative and a good reference video to come back to for ideas. Thanks 😊❤
Hi Eduarda, thank you for your lovely comment! I haven't done a sewalong before but would like to give one a go. Are there any patterns that you would particularly like a sewalong for?
Hello Sarah, thank you for an excellent video, packed with useful information. Love all your makes especially the Winslow culottes, not seen that pattern. I didn't know about indie patterns when I started sewing two years ago, but the instructions are excellent and I mostly buy them now. Hope Nala is ok with the fireworks.
Thanks Phaedra - I love the Winslows! Helen's Closet have lots of lovely patterns actually. Nala is alright with the fireworks unless they are really close. If you have pets I hope that they are fine too! X
@@superbaillessews I have a 10 year old Border Terrier Pip, he is the same doesn't like the very close loud bangs. At the moment is curled up behind me on the sofa. Cuddles for Nala. ❤
Thanks! I enjoyed hearing you review the pattern fit, fabric and instructions. I also enjoyed learning about which books help a beginner learn about fitting! A request, if I may, is leaving the inserted pic of the garment up a bit longer. I would look away because I wasn’t interested in a particular garment type, then something in your description would catch my interest and not be able to see what you were referencing.
@@bekesize hello - thanks for your message and feedback - this is one of my older videos. Someone else had mentioned this too so I do try to leave the pictures on the screen for a bit longer in more recent videos which hopefully will help, and will make sure to remember to do so moving forward!
Really informative vlog, thank you. Would be great to hear how you get on with your gathering foot and hopefully you get time to do a tutorial for this! 😊
I was nodding my head to nearly everything that you said in this podcast. I’ve been sewing my own clothes for about 5 months now. My very first make were TATB Jaime pyjama bottoms, then I went onto the Billie sweater dress……which I love. I now have 8. I adore TATB patterns. I love the designs plus she holds you hand all the way through the process.
Yes TATB instructions booklets are so great! I just finished sewing the Pearl cardigan today and there was one step that I wasn't sure of from the booklet, but they had an accompanying video just for that step which was perfect. Definitely the best place to start!
Finally there is a plus size seamstress who gives reviews on patterns. Thank you
