James Onedine looks so happy. It's just a shame the bride doesn't look like that. I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before she dumps him. Elizabeth is not enthusiastic about her either, and for a change this time she is right!
James Onedin has mellowed with age and on his third marriage. This is understandable but less enjoyable to watch - he seems to have swapped roles with Captain Baines, who was more humane in the past but is now a 'slave-driver'. And Bosun Tyrell died from just a kick in the stomach? There were nastier fights than that in earlier episodes. Hmm, what's going on?

Somebody must have told the actor who plats Daniel to make his character more like Robert, his father. His earlier scenes were very different.
Oh look,... the original Eddie Izzard.
Bugger that it won't play last few minutes
I thought I recognised him, Nick Brimble was in lots of things in the 70s.
Wife number 3 for James, only 1 (dysfunctional) offspring so far
The writers like killing off James' wives, presumably this one will survive
He's firing blanks!
