- Dr. Kiran Bedi on 168th Morning Weekend Round as a part of ongoing Mission-WaterRichPuducherry where the team visited one educational Institution and one Industry to inspect Tubewells/ Borewells, water harvesting and more.. This video consists footage from the 1st(educational institution).
Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor Dr. Kiran Bedi found a stark comparison between water management of the two. The first visit to an educational Institution namely Mahatma Gandhi Medical college and Research institution had no ground water harvesting run off systems of the surface water harvesting pits in its 40 Acres of Land. Nor did they have systems in place which would indicate water table monitoring practices.

Puducherry people really lucky to have Mam there. Next state Karnataka please Mam. Requesting whole heartedly. Earnestly expecting your presence in Karnataka to wipe the public sorrows. My message on behalf of karnataka people.

This is all common sense. Nobody in the government office want to do work. They drag their feet when work comes their way and they group up in their offices and chat. Sometimes yelling at the citizen for disturbing them. I am not speaking for all. Some are very hardworking, but most are feet draggers! And in North tobacco chewers. Atleast in South you don't see red spit all over the walls of the office.
Once you are "in" as a government employee you are not under compulsion to work or be accountable. We have highly ineffective public service. RTI has empowered common man to some extent. There are no set standards of processing times by public sector and hence there is no accountability. Things can move if you are prepared to pay for service.
