This is one of the best runs I’ve watched! And I’ve watched about 90% of the runs of every major ESA, GDQ & RPGLB Event!
I don’t mean this as an insult but I watch these videos to help me fall asleep.
Best thing about these long ass speed runs is that since I know the game already and know the story I can get a proper sleep and wake up knowing what’s going on.
I´m so with you!
Same lol
@@peacefulclipper what’s your point?
You watch, take a nap and then finish watching.
You’re gonna sleep as much as you need and no more.
If you sleep more than 6 hours your body needed it.
@@Egryn that's a nap then not a proper sleep
Really glad to see some love for FFVIII. It may be an absolute mess of a game, but it was still fun for my kid self. Love to see people beat it around in new ways.
Happy New Year, everyone.
I wasn't expecting ff 8 to be so consistent nowadays. Had no idea about the rng manips of today. SO good!
The RNG looks like a pain in the ass to keep track off tough especially if you are alone.
Submitted my first EzCM run. 8h10m, no stress, plenty mistakes, absolutely chill run.
Blindfolded menuing part was insane, so much stuff to memorize!
22 years later and i just found out the garden directory cab be ised to fast travel
Fave ff ever to date. Not sure why it was growing up but it was by a long shot with 9 and 7 respectfully behind it
Love the long runs, great commentator performance too.
Killing it as always Awesomewaves. Great to see you doing a run on youtube.
My favorite adolescence/save the world/cardgame drama! Edit: After watching the whole run, I have to say: impressive, especially the blindfolded menuing. Shame though so much was cut out. But, it's a speedrun after all, not a letsplay. Great run.
Fantastic run
Perfect, was waiting for another one of these!
I'm always down for an ff8 run. It let's me know how to breeze through my future play throughs
I like to listen to this at work
Crash Team Racing
Final Fantasy 8
Ebay for PS1 year on 1999
I love hot dogs.
Why are they using the other save game instead the 1st one after the blindfold end ?
Well, if I had to guess, it's just to avoid repeating the section again, which would mean more time, and since they're already on a tight schedule (hence the partial cutscenes skip), it wouldn't have been a good idea.
In FF's speedrunning (like most rpgs like those), especially at their level, switching between saves doesn't really change much since 99% of a run is already know in advance.
So since they needed to have a fresh save (especially since they're switching controllers every so often which could lead to different inventory setups) as a safety measure just in case the blindfold failed, I suppose they told themselves they might as well keep going with it for the rest of the run.
The only RNG element that could have mattered I think up 'til now was the 8 megapotion drop from Seifer during Galbadia garden fight.
LOVE ff8 but the Edea assassination plan annoys me every time I play it. Why do they discuss it out in the open, but more importantly, why was the plan to trap her in the tower? All that does is alert the sorceress who will obviously set up a barrier as a defense
I thought it was just me that spammed flee in combat even when qe know it's not possible. Do you do it in case it works?
Can't believe those are the same two who played this at ESA2017 with Muttski on the couch. They look soooo different now 😅✌
They're not?
