I like these kinds of formats for duels because they show just how many dumb cards really exist in Yugioh and how insane it actually is when Konami has to upload all of them into the game and what they can possibly do as interactions.
No wonder people think Yugioh not having a rotating formats is insane. Because there can just be shit like "Set any Quick Play Spell from your deck" and no one knows about it because its on a card that requires specific monsters people don't play.

burn damage is cool but the psychic damage I take when you have blaze phoenix on board and just refuse to activate it throughout multiple turns even though it's free damage is much greater

How much I've wanted to see Laval get featured in an LCS. I tried making the deck work in Duel Links, to little success, so I'm glad to see the deck work in a format that doesn't have 2 less monster zones.

That first duel was pretty solid.
I think a good series idea would be the Archetype showdown. You just use majority one archtype with some outside support. If you win the archetype gets banned and if one piece of support is too busted/has a usage rate thats above 40% it gets banned.

The irony of seeing a HotU strat in a LCS when currently playing through YGO 5ds WC11 and literally having gotten hit with the same strat by one of the NPC's in the story mode is just too damn funny.

Can you make a tournament in which players can only play a deck that contains cards within the archetype.
For example: playing only ursarctic cards(monsters, spells, and traps)only no generic cards.
Or playing vampire cards only.
Wouldn't everyone just play testaments or snake-eyes?

mudragon is probably the best lvl 6 synchro at this point. It turbos out Gaia Fierce force which at this point is a pretty good card.

The fact that the structure of this tournament means that the legendary '60 DM Staples' deck can never have a shot means that the whole event is invalid. You're welcome.
The old DM staples are either banned, or already saw heavy play, or are just seeing play now.

Heart of the Underdog exodia is pretty simple. It's just exodia, heart of the underdog, some "lemme draw again I bricked" cards as you can manage while still seeing HotU, and then you fill up the rest with normals. You start the game by praying that HotU is in your opener along with a card that lets you draw. Then you start drawing and pray your chain of normals doesn't get broken by duplicate HotUs, and that the head doesnt show up before you get all the limbs.
Then you lose because youre playing a deck that can brick three times in a single game and bricking even once can be game losing
Heart of the underdog reveals a normal monster when you draw it to draw 1 card the deck is all vanilla monsters so it just deep draws the whole deck issue is the continuous spell is unsearchable so if you open just vanilla monsters your hand is basically dead, only way you can still have effects is with pendulum or possibly Gemini monsters

@@petarmiskec3902 all time wizard formats are not only by design shit and he only reason yugioh palkyers like them is because they get so rarely to play them that they don't realize it is just a stale format,
but on top does this not change what cards can be played. all it does is allow you to play meta deck from years ago not modern new decks that can't win in the current game environment.
what yugioh needs is a format that allows all cards but stops the usage of the top decks. and that format only doesn't exist because yigioh players don't want to play it. mtg has commander and in that format are some of the most powerful decks in all of mtgs history yet no one plays them because the format was from ground up designed to play bad decks and have fun with them. which just shows the game doesn't need to offer the opportunity if people just collectively wanted to play lower tier decks

Whoever played the Laval deck just insulted everything about them by playing card destruction and Laval blaster. If they knew how Laval's worked, they'd use Birth of the Prominence Flame and Blaster Dragon for banishment for Cannon to special summon easier. Blaster also giving the option to destroy anything including backrow, Swap with me, damn it!

Sick, replace it with The Blazing Mars instead. Slower and locks you out of special summoning for the rest of the turn, but it gives you a 2700 beat stick with a possible burn effect if need be.
