Our videos today are very similar, us gushing about how much we love this stupid system. Goes to show how much of an impact the Switch truly has had on us and the gaming world over the last year. Happy Birthday Switch, you beautifully fun time consumer ❤ Great video Arlo 😍😘
Mr.Vermizen nice! I have Breath of the wild, (not the biggest fan of that game tbh:( disgea 5, Mario plus rabbids, Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, fire emblem warriors, plus a few e shop games. Almost got doom, but I couldn't justifying paying $60 when I found the PS4 version for $20.
I'm one of the lucky few that got a Switch on launch day. I was calling every GameStop that day after school and they were all saying they had crazy long lines, but then one amazing GameStop said "we have four Switches, no one is here." God bless that GameStop.
Honestly, Nintendo should just stick to the Switch from now on. Look at Microsoft or Sony, they have kept the same "formula" for their consoles for God knows how long, and a lot of people like them, which is understandable, but Nintendo has just hit the golden spot. It has the perfect mix of both portability and being a true home-console at the same time, so I don't see why they would "replace" the Switch once we come to the next few gens, they should just highly upgrade the hardware and they'll be set for life. Happy Switchiversary everybody, let's aim for another hell of a year. :)
I think it’d be almost impossible for them to go back to a home only system. They struck gold with the concept of the switch, the only thing I could see them doing is making better “switches”
I doubt we will be seeing the same churn of upgrades the other systems provide, even if the switch was the best format. For better or worse, Nintendo has hated the thought since the gamecube at least. They would much rather start over again than refine the same thing repeatedly. Kinda ironic since their games are often the opposite.
zetsubou1v1 I think they are still kinda scared to upgrade consoles since that Japanese exclusive Nintendo 64 extension (the DD I think? I always forget its name), but man, Nintendo just hit fucking gold man. I can assure you that if they just stay with the Switch from now on, and keep upgrading it, Nintendo is just going go absolutely kill the market.
ya boi Yeah, hell, personally, I am not somebody who buys an upgraded version of a console (hence why I never got a PS4, that and because I don't like almost any games the console has), but for a much better Switch, I'd drop my money at the moment.
The Switch truly is amazing. I didn't get mine until the first day of August back in 2017 with Breath of the Wild. Later that month, I took it with me on vacation with my family to Puerto Rico. It felt surreal, I was carrying the first full console game that you could play anywhere you wanted. After activities done during the day and even on the plane rides, I was enjoying my Switch and it was great. The following year I went on a different vacation and once again brought my Switch, this time, for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It's truly something special.
Here's to many more! Welcome back to the throne of gaming Nintendo. We really missed you. Btw, I hope they make a 3D DK game in a similar style to DK64.
Perfectly summed up. I mean, really truly, especially about the battery life. I play my Switch literally every day, both on the TV and handheld, I absolutely love it. And I have honored it within my home by gracing it with a place next to my all-time favorite machine, the SEGA Genesis. Now I've got TWO favorite kids! XD
Had mine for about four months now and in those four months it has reinvigorated my love for console and online gaming. This is definitely coming close to being my favorite Nintendo system since the NES. Already own 20 games for the Switch and don't see that number slowing down anytime soon. The portability helps greatly since I am in the older age range with less free time at home. Really looking forward to the future.
I picked mine up at 4:30 PM at BestBuy on day one right after school! I was so excited on my drive home and it honestly felt like a fever dream it finally came out.
Amazing first year. We’ve been together since 10:00am on launch morning and Switch and I couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait to see what else is in store for it.
Thank you Arlo for being you. I've re-energized my enthusiasm for gaming watching your videos. P.S. That intro nearly had me in a fetal position from lack of oxygen.
Got my Switch at launch, preordered it, and picked it up at midnight. I haven't had any problems and I have loved every second I spent playing it. Just wish I had more time to play, and I hope this year will be just as great.
I didn't pick up a switch until the pandemic, and its been awesome learning more about the history of the console and the creators around it with old videos like these
I got mine in early June so my Switch's anniversary is still 3 months off but already it's really thrown me back into the gaming scene. Before the switch I'd hardly play my Wii u except for Mario maker and Splatoon, but now the switch is almost a daily play when school work doesn't get in the way. Also, it has to be the first instance of near instant nostalgia playing breath of the wild til 4 am over the summer. I boot up the game and it takes me back almost instantly. I truly love this console!
There's just something amazing about playing a game in bed, with the screen in my hand. Not some minimal investment phone game. Not twisted onto my side with a wireless controller looking at the tv side ways. Its the sort of excitement I havent had since the gameboy color. Any time a new game comes out I no longer have to worry about downstairs being cold or having to battle for tv. I can just play. And if I have to travel? Even better.
I've subscribed to you about a over a year ago the reason why I subscribed because of the switch. Thank you Arlo for the beat content on the switch. Or the Nintendo in general
As someone who has trouble using other consoles' controllers or a mouse & keyboard I am really grateful for my Switch. The joycons are much easier on my wrists and let me game so much more than I could before. And I was super lucky in even getting a Switch at launch. I'd preordered through Best Buy but then it was canceled because of a glitch. Thankfully after talking to the managers at every Best Buy in town a couple of them said they'd call me if they had any left and one store had a canceled preorder so they let me buy it!
Got my switch at midnight on release day. The switch has done for me what it has done for you. I now have time for console gaming, its amazing. I am hoping for more great moments these coming years.
I'm a parent now who also had the same problem before the Switch launched: no time to play games anymore; however, the Switch changed that and gave renewed life into my hobby. It really is a beautiful thing that Nintendo has done.
First off LOVE your videos. You really are a skilled puppeteer! I'm getting all the nostalgia from my old Muppets/Sesame Street days. I just got a switch about a month ago and it's also my favorite console. I've been waiting for a REAL portable console for years and now it's finally come true and it's better then ever. Hoping for more awesome games!! Especially from my past
The switch has changed my life. Before the switch was announced I only played PlayStation (played Nintendo when I was younger but grew out of it) I didn’t care about Nintendo one bit but I did love my Vita. I saw the switch announcement trailer because I was curious but it made me so hyped and I preordered one days later. I spent the months before March 3rd learning about Nintendo (even bought a 3DS) and missed my first 2 periods of school so I could get the switch, brought it to school and everyone was awestruck. Spent the past year loving Nintendo (even bought a GameCube, now I love metroid prime and 2D) haven’t touched my PlayStation for months now and I don’t regret it. I love the switch and I’m so incredibly excited for its future.
I've only had my Switch for two months & it's already my favorite console! I also have a N64, Gamecube, Wii & Wii U, love all those consoles as well, but the Switch takes gaming to a whole new level. Always look forward getting home from work to play it! Glad I've stuck with Nintendo!
Nice video Arlo! Rip my time log on Nintendo switch...😢 I still have left joy con issues...can't fix it. I want a new super Mario bros game with a vs mode like on ds.
I also had a hardware issue on the left joycon (it wasn't a connection issue, it was closer to what Arlo described), but the only thing I had to do for fixing it was cleaning the stick with a dry tooth brush (as advised on the Nintendo website) and now everything is fine. Since then, I prefer to transport my switch inside of a plastic bag to prevert the sticks to accumulate dirt or fluff.
The problem with my left Joy-Con is that if you hold left on it too hard it'll still think the control stick is being pushed to the left, meaning that it'll cause me to move left very lightly. So I have to push it to the right to fix it. It's only ever been a problem in Zelda, in the other games it's never affected anything. But I want to fix it really badly.
The Switch had me do multiple things I'd never done, nor ever considered doing, before in my life. Because of the switch, I went to my first video game related midnight event ever. I stood in line for 8 hours to buy it, and I've never done anything like that either. In my childhood I never played video games for more then about 4 hours on any given day, and I put in almost 48 hours into Zelda within the first 3 days after launch. Having a switch made me realize how convenient it is to have digital games instead of physical, where before I only ever bought physical versions. I've barely used my PS4 for more than an hour each month for the past year, despite having bought multiple games for it that I haven't touched yet. I haven't touched my 3DS since the switch came out, and I used to put in 30 hours a week on it. I will never be able to sing enough praise for this system. it is truly a revolution leading system.
Hey Arlo! My name is Victor and I'm planning on getting a switch for my birthday on March 31st of this year. I've always been a Nintendo fan and always will be for life. I didn't want to ask for the Switch on launch because my parents aren't gaming enthusiasts in a sense but your videos have made me ravenous to keep pushing them to get me one this year. I'm asking nothing besides the system and Mario Odyssey. I absolutely adore your videos and thank you for convincing me with your reviews and just your excitement and enthusiasm for Nintendo. Being that proud of the Switch is no doubt making me a Nintendo only customer for the rest of my life. Love you Arlo!
Gotta say, I'm impressed with the Arlo character. I see a lot of other channels try to use mascots/characters, and it always feels so contrived. Arlo's delivery feels natural, genuine, and unforced. Good intro on this one too
I was lucky enough to find a Switch at launch, and I honestly have loved the whole year. The year started off slow with Splatoon, Mario Kart, Zelda and various indie games being the only real choices to play, but aside from that the library is looking great. I'm excited for this next year in Nintendo gaming, can't take me off my cloud
I got it in July with Zelda and it held me off until odyssey in October and then I got so many good games for Christmas and have been playing them nonstop. So many good games.
I gotta stop watching these videos I cannot afford a switch.... I cannot afford a switch... I CANNOT afford a switch.... IM GOING TO TARGET!!! SOMEONE STOP ME!
Getting the switch at launch waiting in line at walmart is one of my favorite memories ever! I brought my 3ds and met a lot of other fans, and we all played 3ds smash waiting for hours, and I made some friends and got my switch less then 5 minutes after 12am.
I was born in 87. I grew up always having a Nintendo console in my bedroom. I'm thirty now, and I can say without a doubt that the Switch is my second favorite console. When the vc comes out and gets some SNES/SuperFamicom games, it will jump up to first.
I counted down the days, and it's been a year already. Happy birthday, switch! Happy birthday, BOTW! I'm soo happy to be able to celebrate with you, Arlo, and all my fellow Nintendo nerds! HAPPY SWITCHIVERSARY!
I love the Switch! I picked mine up day 1 with Zelda Breath of the wild and I’m still enjoying it to this day, the Switch is easily one of my favorite Nintendo consoles of all time. The fact I can play anytime anywhere is amazing, and all the first party games Nintendo has already released are so amazing! I can’t wait to see what else Nintendo has in store for the year to come! All I can say is don’t stop Nintendo! Honestly I really want Animal crossing and Smash sometime soon! I love this console!
Happy Switchiversary! Hope you feel better soon. I didn't realize there were so many hardware issues. I have the same problem as you (my left control stick not responding properly) and I've sent my joycon off to Nintendo for repairs. They haven't charged me anything... yet.
40+ games!, I sold my ps4 because I cannot play games now with a console where I cannot take it with me, Cant wait for metroid, pikmin, smash, pokemon, mario maker to come to the switch!! I have never cared so much for a console as I have for the switch!
" I hope the rotation is good, it's always blasters"
Way too true
Our videos today are very similar, us gushing about how much we love this stupid system. Goes to show how much of an impact the Switch truly has had on us and the gaming world over the last year.
Happy Birthday Switch, you beautifully fun time consumer ❤
Great video Arlo 😍😘
BeatEmUps I watch your videos and Arlos and I love them!! You guys are amazing at giving info about video games while being funny!
Bro I love how you just make jokes about your friend rgt85 but you are all diplomatic with Arlo
That was the cheesiest intro i've ever seen. ever.
AND I LOVED IT
Nyan that intro is why I subbed to arlo.
Me too.
Kill me
Refers to the the switch as a toddler in the description and opens the video taking the switch on a date

*FBI OPEN UP*
I hope I can find love and happiness like Arlo someday.
Wilfred Cthulu do you have a switch?
Mr.Vermizen wasn't asking you.... But cool! What do you think of it?
Everest Peck yes
Mr.Vermizen nice! I have Breath of the wild, (not the biggest fan of that game tbh:( disgea 5, Mario plus rabbids, Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, fire emblem warriors, plus a few e shop games. Almost got doom, but I couldn't justifying paying $60 when I found the PS4 version for $20.
Wilfred Cthulu well than you have love and happiness z just like Arlo!😂
So Arlo's species is canonically "monster" now.
*_The lore deepens..._*
I'm one of the lucky few that got a Switch on launch day. I was calling every GameStop that day after school and they were all saying they had crazy long lines, but then one amazing GameStop said "we have four Switches, no one is here." God bless that GameStop.
thats how I got my samus 3dsxl lol
Never thought I’d see a blue dude puppet having a date with a nintendo gaming console. 🤣
What I this racist term that you call Arlo, a "puppet"?
At least it’s not as bad as the m word
What puppet?
But Arlo, we don't expect anything from your videos. *_They are always amazing_*
Im still waiting for the NX

Still hasn’t happened
Yeah where’s my NX!

Arlo you're not a monster. You're beautiful.
I think Arlo needs a switch body pillow
The Gaming Gecko , this ain't SMG4 boi.
Switching to the Switch has been the best thing i have ever done.
*Switch snap sound*
Puns are always intended unless otherwise specified.
ehh ive kinda been cheating on my switch with the 3DS... just a little. im not quite done with the 3DS yet.
I love the switch, but it hasn't surpassed my computer or xbone in use, my media is all based around my xbox (movies and such)
Adam Eason agreed, ultra sun and moon had engulfed me, sorry breath of the wild
7:10
I like how he specifically says two games crash is on the Switch now, and a hat in time is coming to the Switch.
That was a really good intro
John Zoidberg ikr
Indeed it was
100 percent agree
It gave me the real Oof

Pls tell me that I am not the only one to read this post like Daphy Duck (I don't know how to spell his name)
Wait in the beginning, Arlo are you cheating on Samus?
TheRabbidHD Not until Metroid comes to the switch ;)
Shhhhhhh...
I remember waking up before target opened just to get a switch. I had been saving up since they anounced it. Once i got it my switch it was amazing
2017 flew past so quickly
Had mine for about four months now and in those four months it has reinvigorated my love for console and online gaming. I got the Switch release day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Aye I got it release day too!
I don't have a Switch, but I love watching your videos about it!
It was one year ago today that I spent an entire afternoon camped outside of GameStop for one of their _four_ units
Memories
They only had four that weren't pre-ordered?
I picked mine up at 4:30 PM at BestBuy on day one right after school! I was so excited on my drive home and it honestly felt like a fever dream it finally came out.
I can't believe its been a year already, time sure does fly
Amazing first year. We’ve been together since 10:00am on launch morning and Switch and I couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait to see what else is in store for it.
It's been a year since Arlo made a deal with Death.
Thank you Arlo for being you. I've re-energized my enthusiasm for gaming watching your videos.
P.S. That intro nearly had me in a fetal position from lack of oxygen.
11:14 But I was there Arlo... :(
And that's why you get a THOUSAND GOLD STARS!!!
Oh now, Jiffy is like any other subscriber no matter how many stars he has.
Jiffy I wish I could be there Jiffy

Got my Switch at launch, preordered it, and picked it up at midnight. I haven't had any problems and I have loved every second I spent playing it. Just wish I had more time to play, and I hope this year will be just as great.
Arlo you should review *Celeste* for Nintendo Switch, it’s one of the best games on the eshop
Agreed. It's story and gameplay are phenomenal.
N8tn thats how indies make you feel
N8tn Is Shantae good? I’m thinking of getting it.
Darkrai the Dreamkeeper I personally not played but, I think you should get stardew valley, or Celeste over that game, that’s my opinion
I didn't pick up a switch until the pandemic, and its been awesome learning more about the history of the console and the creators around it with old videos like these
Yay! Salmon run! And salmon! And switch... I bought my Switch today. With odyssey! Splatoon! and Mario Kart!
What about Zelda
Dude, believe me, buy BoTW, you won't regret it a single bit. And while you are at it, try to get Furi too, amazing game. :D
Congratulations!
Damn y'all, they JUST got the system lol. Zelda isn't going anywhere, let them enjoy what they have and get around to the rest of the catalog later.
I got mine in early June so my Switch's anniversary is still 3 months off but already it's really thrown me back into the gaming scene. Before the switch I'd hardly play my Wii u except for Mario maker and Splatoon, but now the switch is almost a daily play when school work doesn't get in the way. I remember when I first saw you my little blue switch monster!
Did Arlo watch Sesame Street as a kid?
wizdome02 I wouldn’t be surprised if he was an extra on Sesame Street as a kid
I think he's related to Grover, isn't he?
Pretty sure he is Grovers long lost nephew
He lived there, I'm pretty sure
Arlo WAS Sesame Street as a kid.
I've subscribed to you about a over a year ago the reason why I subscribed because of the switch. Thank you Arlo for the beat content on the switch. Or the Nintendo in general

Nice video Arlo!

Butternut Squash?
Yes Please!
I can't believe this is still going
Simarbir Gill butternut Switch
Can this meme die already? I'm getting tired of people spamming butternut squash on Arlo's videos instead of actual, relevant comments.
Yes pretty please!
Yeah But Solid Snake
Okay, I gotta admit, that intro was the cutest thing I've ever seen.
I didn't know Arlo lived near me but I'm kind of wondering what he considers North is it like Chico Redding Sacramento or San Fransisco
Hey Arlo! My name is Victor and I'm planning on getting a switch for my birthday on March 31st of this year. I've always been a Nintendo fan and always will be for life. I got my switch day one and have loved it thus far can't wait to see what the next year holds for us
We all like our Switch, but what's gonna happen once they start charging for internet?
Sony and Microsoft already do that. It will probably be just fine. Especially if they don't charge a lot.
Good question, I love splatoon 2,but now I'm concerned about paying internet bill and then switch online service lool.
Ronny Montalvo I hope that’s not sarcasm. It’s projected to be like 20$ for a year. Cheaper than anything else I’ve seen
Kenino Space just 20 bucks? great
All of us are gunna start paying cause you know we neeed that interwebz
i really can't wait for that direct video you have coming
I wish I had a Switch. Please give me arguments to convince my mom to buy me one
Give us some arguments to counter; I’m better at doing that.
AH SEU VOU tell her that you're slowly dying if you don't get it
Just reenact the crappy Wii U commercials but just replace the Switch
Well tell here you'll shut up and never bother her afterwards.
AH SEU VOU Get a job and buy one
The fact that you can share one of your Joy-Cons anytime is very cute and it makes me think about how important it is to share things
SAMMY HAS BEEN BETRAYED
I was lucky enough to find a Switch at launch, and I honestly have loved the whole year. The year started off slow with Splatoon, Mario Kart, Zelda and various indie games being the only real choices to play, but aside from that the library is looking great. I'm excited for this next year in Nintendo gaming, can't take me off my cloud
*You wanna pre-order the pokeman game?*
LOLOLOLOLOL
I got it in July with Zelda and it held me off until odyssey in October and then I got so many good games for Christmas and have been playing them nonstop. So many good games.
I gotta stop watching these videos
I cannot afford a switch.... I cannot afford a switch... I CANNOT afford a switch.... IM GOING TO TARGET!!! SOMEONE STOP ME!
Before anyone says anything I have a job, I’m working on getting a better job, and I am throwing more than my income to college.
stop and don't go to target
...
Have you gone to target?
Soooo... Ya went to target?
That skit was great, Arlo! I haven't had any problems with the battery life too. Great first year for Switch.
I got my Nintendo Switch during November last year so it's been just under half a year
that would be one third of a year
Octagon Seventynine it's about 5 months so it's close enough
November and March are 4 months apart... quick maths
Octagon Seventynine I said ABOUT half a year so I didn't say the exact amount of time
congratulations you guys!
I got my Switch on March 10th of last year, exactly a week after it came out. It's been nothing but awesomeness ever since then!
But I thought Etika was married to the Switch!
It's just so fun to play with friends. Even solo games like BoTW and Odyssey. They're just so interesting that people just have fun watching too
Should I buy a Procontroller?
No bun intended wait for summer, the price is bound to drop then.
But it right niw
Getting the switch at launch waiting in line at walmart is one of my favorite memories ever! I brought my 3ds and met a lot of other fans, and we all played 3ds smash waiting for hours, and I made some friends and got my switch less then 5 minutes after 12am.
Butternut Squash?!

I absolutely love it. Watching my gf play through Odyssey was really special. Reminded me of playing through 64 with my family.
I WANT PIKMIN 4 SO BAD IT HURTS
I feel you Lol
I was born in 87. I grew up always having a Nintendo console in my bedroom. I'm thirty now, and I can say without a doubt that the Switch is my second favorite console. When the vc comes out and gets some SNES/SuperFamicom games, it will jump up to first.
its funny how adults like the colorful Nintendo while kids like the mature games on Xbox and PS
Cobra Norovia except me... I’m 11 and the only Nintendo fan in my whole school :/
Lamachtig im in 8th grade and same here
I counted down the days, and it's been a year already. Happy birthday, switch! Happy birthday, BOTW! I'm soo happy to be able to celebrate with you, Arlo, and all my fellow Nintendo nerds! HAPPY SWITCHIVERSARY!
Arlo X Nintendo Switch Fanfic Plz
MAZ 1 Arlo teams up with Cappy, then he captures his Nintendo Switch and starts playing with himself.
Happy 1 year anniversary to the Switch, cheers Arlo, keep up the great content

I love the Switch! I picked mine up day 1 with Zelda Breath of the wild and I’m still enjoying it to this day, the Switch is easily one of my favorite Nintendo consoles of all time. The fact I can play anytime anywhere is amazing, and all the first party games Nintendo has already released are so amazing! I can’t wait to see what else Nintendo has in store for the year to come! All I can say is don’t stop Nintendo! Honestly I really want Animal crossing and Smash sometime soon! I love this console!
He said Poké MAN game
Happy Switchiversary! Hope you feel better soon.
I didn't realize there were so many hardware issues. I have the same problem as you (my left control stick not responding properly) and I've sent my joycon off to Nintendo for repairs. They haven't charged me anything... yet.
40+ games!, I sold my ps4 because I cannot play games now with a console where I cannot take it with me, Cant wait for metroid, pikmin, smash, pokemon, mario maker to come to the switch!! I have never cared so much for a console as I have for the switch!
Forgot gta5!! Soon(tm)
....And hopefully a new F-Zero made by Retro Studios soon as well...
I did actually get the switch on launch. A few of my friends and I stayed in line for hours waiting for it and I loved every second
Wait a second, you didn't actually go without an SD card until now did you?
Dequan Milete
Probably had a smaller one
i lasted a year without an sd card
Live and prosper Arlo, may stars and lot bless your love
