    Tobias, I really love the way you are teaching how to control overall body especially arm and elbow. most of the channel only tells us how to use the wrist but's it's very difficult for beginners since we have that kind of wrist power. keep doing this channel, very impressive and practical.

    Saw some video of backhand clear on youtube which said to use v grip in backhand clear. I hurt my wrist in just 2nd day.
    After this video, I adjust my grip and my backhand clear is not only more powerful & accurate but it doesn't hurt my wrist. Thank You so much.

    Thank you very much . It's because of you I learnt the backhand clear . I recently started playing badminton . And I struggled with the back hand clear . I was using my wrist to hit the shuttle and I coudnt generate any power . And it landed in the middle of my opponent's court and they used to smash me . And later they started teasing me by wantedly hitting the shuttle to my backhand . And then I watched your video . Learned about the forearm rotation in backhand . And the next day it was magic

    Changing different grip (or adjust it a bit) upto your standing location is a good and a clear idea! It is a key for backhand clear. Many teachers just show you one fixed grip for it and I found actually they changed it time by time upto their standing location too. Thank you very much for your video!

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  4 роки тому

      Yes, super important to be flexible with the grip, otherwise you have to adjust too much with the wrist what makes it a lot harder to hit with power and control

    Thanks. Have seen many videos on this topic. Although many people are liking I believe it could be better. First seems I didn't hear "Bevel grip" at all, which I think is very important. Also there is an important nuance about what distance to hold the racket from it lower end. The effect is better and more powerful when moving a few mm upwards towards the bending shaft, compared to the grip for a power shot.

      @@tobiaswadenka8435 thank you! or even just hitting backhand clears/lifts vs. backhand drives and backhand drops consistently without getting killed, in pro videos alot of pros seem to be able to hit the backhand clear from the rear backcourt as a drop/drive without getting killed

  • @calvinbernard

    Backhand clear especially if you are out of position, in my opinion is the hardest shot to play in badminton. But it is also one of the most beautiful shots to play if executed correctly. I have been training and playing badminton for years now, and it takes practice, confidence and feeling to play this shot perfectly. Theoretically it is very straight forward but in actuality it is not.

    Another great tutorial Tobias- thanks! Could you also do one on playing *low* backhands from the rear court: at the moment, I usually have to do a straight or cross-court drop- how to generate more power so that more shot options are available?

    • @tobiaswadenka8435
      @tobiaswadenka8435  5 років тому +1

      Thank you. If you hit low and behind your body you have to rely almost completly on forearm rotation. Try to adjust the grip so you don't have to bend the wrist to much and but speed into the rotation. I will definitly make a video about it ;)

      Shots like that are fun but it is really advanced and even most top players never use shots like that during matches (of course Kevin is a big exception :P). I will make a video about these circus shots at a certain point but it is way more important to focus on the basics first if you want to become a really good player so i also focus on basics first ;)

      You mean when you hit far behind your body? There it can be hard to hit a long clear and you need a lot of power in you forearm because there is almost no room for you elbow/armmovement
