I'm currently studying journalism and the fact that this is an actual article someone wrote is so funny to me😂😂 i can't imagine taking days out of my life writing an article about some random scientists private life.
Andrew Huberman isn't "some random scientist". His podcast is one of the most popular podcasts on the Internet, listened to millions while he also sells shady supplements. He's a public figure scientist, so things about him are of public interest ehich is what he built a whole podcasting career for, and his very messy personal life does play a role in his trustworthiness which is something that Huberman banks on when he gives advice on his podcast listened by millions.
Perhaps you should pay more attention to your journalism classes.
If you dont think scientists deserve more attention than random influencers that do nothing for society then you're already failing at journalism

Neuroplasticity is really interesting when it comes to TBIs because Most doctors nowadays will mainly recommend like extreme brain relaxation, not looking at screens, not reading, not thinking for months on end to let your brain heal, which seems extremely counterintuitive to me. What does being a cheater has to do with being a scientist??? If a scientist can help me in my life i don't care if he sleeps with a 1000 chicks.
i see your point. president roosevelt was also a womanizer or at least had several affairs and yet he was a beloved president. but i think a slight difference might be that andrew is also selling his info/himself/his knowledge which is linked to his credibility and for someone who could allegedly be so deceitful to his partners, one would be foolish to not also consider that he could be just as deceitful to his customers/consumers...
but yeah i see where you're getting at and agree. private lives are exactly that...private..

Every person you see online you must assume is a grifter until proven otherwise. People need to actually understand this and let it materialize.
Huberman isn't a grifter
@@hughmungus431 he is the new Dr. Oz. Worshipped by low IQ Roganbros
That´s your takeaway? So who do you trust instead? TV and newspapers? You must be kidding..
My take away is almost the opposite: No one is perfect. You have to understand that people are complex creatures. A terrible father can still be a great CEO. A cheating boyfriend can still be a first-class scientist. A scientologist can still be a great actor. And so on. My observation is that virtually every interesting person has at least one crazy take or some character flaws. The only people who don´t have that are literal NPCs: The guys who only say what the 8´o clock news say and always do what society expects them to do and never have any thought or interest by themselves. I am honestly so sick and tired of this expectation that puplic people have to be perfect (whatever that currently means), and if they are not anymore, EVERYTHING the say and do is suddenly wrong. That is a moronic standard.
@@hughmungus431imo his episode with zuck was pretty grift-y
While OP's comment is oversimplifying things, in Huberman's case, it's not out of place
How does having a somewhat dysfunctional personal life and/or being a womanizer make one a "grifter"?

So, he's being accused the crime of being a bad boyfriend by an anonymous feminist and a kind of flaky friend. As far as I can tell, he's being exposed as not perfect. The mundaneity of the accusations tells me this is a clout chase.
I wouldnt even say not perfect, just human, and likely that "friend" and that "woman" were probably trash humans that he was distancing himself from.

Consider this: if he cheats on his partners and lies to friends and professional acquitances, what is preventing him from swindling some random online person with some bs "protocol" and dietary supplements?
Just two different things I guess? I mean he already pushes bs dietary supplements in the sponsor segment at the start, just ignore those...
idk a bunch of people who tried it have loved it could argue placebo but yk it seems to work
Well it’s a lot of hearsay. Think back to the worst argument you’ve had with someone, now imagine they told their side of the story to a reporter and it was put out. And because of that people said you didn’t deserve your job.
People aren’t black and white, we’re gray. There’s no evidence. And you gotta consider context. Motive. It’s possible he cheated on his gf. It’s possible he didn’t, they had a bad breakup and she wanted revenge. It’s possible the reporter needed to hit his quota or would be fired and invented the story.
I think to make a character judgement based on a news article with no supporting evidence is naive.
