    I'm researching using peltier devices for cooling a water reservoir of about 16 gallons. I doubt I'll use water as a heat sink but, who knows? It's still a great idea. Just wanted you to know that I appreciated the video and the parts list. You've given me inspiration and you've motivated me to try something similar.

    Forget about these, I spent some time researching and finally I found out the pipes in most of these are made of copper. U don't want your tank water to be running through copper or aluminium if u want your water creatures to survive, I dropped this as a solution

    Have you tried to use the blue radiator with, instead of a water-pump ... an air-pump to get cold air ? I am curious to see if I can get the cold air from the Peltier module using a radiator with air-pump to build a small fridge. Do you think it might works ? Thanks!

    You shouldn't mix raw aluminum with aquatic life. Similiar effect can be achieve by applying thermoelectric cold side to side of sump filter tanks except thermo exchange will be much slower.

    Отлично! Как вариант можно для холодной части использовать фильтр, а контроллер использовать для элементов Пельтье и помпы на горячей части.
    Great! As an option is possible for cold part to use the filter, and the controller to use for elements, Pelt`e and pump on hot part.

    i think if you connect the cold water pipe to the canister near to the aquarium inbound. Then for the hot water add a aluminium radiator or even a water cooling radiator just one like PC liquid cooling and then connect this pipe to external water source as you did may increase efficiency a lot.

    It works but not efficient and things become clumsy and it partially reduces appeal of the fish tank. More over this can be used in either a single medium tank or two small tanks. I used ups to power these thermo electric coolers incase Power cuts happen.
    Hiding everything in a separate box is the key to make it look better. Go for it only if you really need this like shrimps and sensitive fishes.

    Hi there, thank you for you effort, what a nice video. Its inspiring for those who wants to use DIY feature on their project. 👍
    So the idea on your video is to pump the cool water from your tank through the warm side of the peltier into the water bin, and pump the warm water from the bin into the tank? Is this correct? Can I use DIY external filter (without filter media) for the water bin? I have built a chiller using dc fan, peltier and heatsink, but its so noisy, I can't stand it. And also its not effective since in 12 hrs the temp only drop 4°C from 30° to 26°. I am planning to follow your video. But I still can't understand how it works. If its not to much trouble, could you please explain it for me? Thanks a lot. 🤝

    Meaning, pump water runs in to the inlet of the heat block, outlet of the in block runs to the inlet of the cooling block, then the outlet of the cooling block runs to the tank.

    The other tray contains heated water, so is it not bad for the peltier if it's not cooled. Heated water will be circulating in the other heat sink

      @@ramesh10829 the dtmax of the peltier 12706 is 60-70 degrees. So the difference between the cold and hot side needs to be managed to an extent that the target cold water temp is reached. Hence when the relay is cut off, the radiator tank get a chance to naturally cool down a bit. Yet I think it can safely increase till 50 degree c. Basically it seems that it works great for this use case. I want to employ this technique for outdoor hydroponics by using water in an earthen pot as a radiator. Have a hunch that it will work.

    You cant use Alu or Copper in a fish tank... The alu will find something to oxidize like steel impellers, and then cause corrosion which will end up killing everything in your tank.
    Brass is fine if you have no snails / shrimps as it can potentially leech copper.
    If you can find a titanum or stainless steel waterblock, it will work, otherwise your asking to kill all your fish.
    Do research on what is considered SAFE metals in a fish tank before you recommend people doing it.

    With only one of this blue radiator with three peltier and one pump to regulate the water won't work? i don't know if you understand me.

    • @KODAfail
      @KODAfail 5 років тому +2

      hello friend, excuse me if i got you wrong
      but i think you have the same missunderstand that i had
      he uses 2 blue radiator because one side cools the water and the other side warms the water
      peltier works as one side of it getting cold and the other hot
      Ive seen many projects where they use an fan or heat dissipator on the hot side
      but it seems that also using water in the hot side works better
      thats why he has 2 tanks of water. 1 gets cold and the other gets hot
      hope i could make it clear

    • @pieceofpaper924
      @pieceofpaper924  5 років тому

      Yes
      I just want to do a test on the types of radiators
      I found it better to use water radiators
      We can do more neatly during use
      You must have a temperature controller like mine
      The temperature controller controls the machine when the temperature exceeds the required level

    • @chriszampoulis8719
      @chriszampoulis8719 5 років тому

      I understand how the system works. I'm just saying that if a radiotor with its both sides have peltiers to cool water and the hot sides of peltier have heatsinks. Then you need only one pump to regulate the water. I have a diagram. Add me as a friend to send it to you!
