Love your ingenuity , and a great vid, loving your skills at laying silicone on the edges of the filter veins... freestyle ha ha! I bet a few will try that (it could get messy) I really like the concept and the execution but I do wonder about the viability of cleaning this out, especially if the back of the tank is against a wall. No easy task I reckon. All the same enjoyed watching it all.

Actually cleaning up I think is not difficult
I usually use a 10mm diameter soft tube and pass through the filter slots to clean out the external drain
In the video I also had to move the tank several times to get video angles
I use a soft pipe to remove all water from the filter tank

Extremely ingenious work of aquarium craftsmenship . would work perfect for reef system. Just have to make sure leaving space in the rear to access the filtration system. Better if was trays that can me removed for easy changing of filter pads and media.One chamber for a mini skimmer.
