We were fosterfails too, and ended up adopting, but this world needs more foster parents, so these many more sweet creatures will get a chance at getting adopted. The shelters are often so full, and many animals suffer in shelters, from being too stressed.
Good advise from this grandma....even though you are excited go through all four seasons in the house before you make any structural changes. You often realize (sometimes too late) why a previous owner put that window there, or didn't add that thing over there. But good luck!!!
Yes agreed. I moved into my house in July after viewing it in April - by August it's as black as pitch, literally as soon as the sun changes height after the summer equinox - lucky I have a front and a back room so one for summer and one for winter.
They say when buying property, live there a year before you decide what changes you want to make, and even where to put the garden, other structures (Barn, she'd, etc.). And even heard this advice applied to buying land that you plan to build a house on...to live there for a year before deciding where to situate/place the house (live in a temporary shelter, perhaps a moveable shed or barn, small building that you can use after you build the house).
I was thinking the same. These windows are small as it is and making it smaller, especially in the kitchen where you have wodden stove and a cooking stove is not such a good idea. Because kitchen has to have good ventilation.
Use lime (cal) for the outside paint. It is much better for old houses. It can breathe. It's possible to mix in pigments. Modern plastic paint is really bad for old houses. Lovely house you have!
So I would live in the house for a while first so that you can experience all seasons, that way you will get a better feel for what might need changing. I also think that dog has decided that is his home and he ain't going anywhere !
The precious fur baby-dog is so loving, he loves cuddles.😊😺💖💖💖💖 I sure hope he gets a wonderful forever home. You are giving him so much live and companionship he’s going to miss you as you will him.💖💖. Thank you for fostering, all our precious fur babies need love and companionship.👍👍😺😺💖💖. Your home is so quaint, warm and charming. Thank you for sharing.👍😊🌷🌷🌸🌸💖💖👍😊
For the house, I would suggest a light terracotta colour (like your ceramic pots on the window sills) with a olive/mint green colour for the shutters. Rustic, Mediterranean colours.
He looks to be a senior. I pray he finally finds his forever loving home so he can feel safe and settled. The revolving door needs to stop for the sweetheart.
Aw after watching the past 2 videos I was really hoping you were keeping this doggo! He looks like an absolute sweetheart who adores you! Definitely think white or cream will look gorgeous. You've made a lovely home, can't wait to see the next projects you do ☺
You dog is an exact twin for my son's dog who passed away 4 months ago. It was lovely to see him running and playing with you..brought back fond memories. Enjoy him til he finds his forever home.
Best advice from others here is to wait a year before making big changes. This is important in the garden as well. It was the same advice I was given when I bought my first house. My house colour choice would be cream or..... A pale mauve with cream trim. Something that makes you smile. Cheers
Paint your house a colour you love that will make you smile when you come home any colour will look good as you are surrounded by greenery. Don't be restricted by playing safe go with what makes you smile xxx
Your dog looks as if he is happy with you and might not have very much longer on this earth, why not just keep him until then?...your house for an old vintage Italian house is amazingly well renovated, I would would paint the outside of the house a colour that does not make it stand out, which is safe.
I couldn’t agree more! He looks to be senior and larger dogs don’t live as long as the smaller breeds. I worry for his heart, dogs hearts can be broken over and over. They need stability just like a human, no less.
Aww that house is amazing and such a wonderful location too. As the colour maybe a pastel grey. And that dog is a big softy. And you should keep him lol. Stay safe. X 🙂
I like the idea of cream also. You could add your 2 favorite colors on the trim and the doors. The previous owners left you a nice clean place. Looking forward to seeing what you do!
Love your house and also very much your dog!! I do so hope you will keep him, he quite obviously adores you!! Please let it be a 'foster fail' and adopt him 🐕♥️♥️
Love the house and the location. I think painting it beige or some neutral color would be great especially with a more colorful accent on the windows and doors. Love your big sweet dog. Wish I could adopt him but I’m in the USA. Can’t wait to see how you transform the house. Thank you for your lovely videos.

I live in the United States but if I were closer I would definitely want that beautiful dog. He is amazing. I just fell in love with him. I love your home and the property it sits on. Just gorgeous!!
In the USA is a lovely older dog who would love to have a loving home. There's probably quite a few of them because lots of people want puppies and not older dogs. Happy adopting. It's what I would do if I lived in suitable accommodation.
@@kippen64 You are so right. There so many animals here that need homes. I just thought that dog looked like such a sweetheart! I do a lot of cat rescues in my area. If you don't like the modern kitchen you could just replace cupboard doors with natural wood...or paint. Or you can add the rustic touch with chunky natural wood shelves. The outside of the house would be nice in a muted terracotta...take some colour influence from the beautiful rug you have. You can get this colour in natural limewash which is beautiful and matte finish and protects the stone. You are a very creative girl, and l know whatever you do to the house it will be nice. Maybe light blue/grey for outer walls, red front door and white window frames. We all like different things, and cream would look good too. Enjoy and stay safe lol from me and Oban 😊xx
Charming home and land. You are already putting your mark on it. Love it. Thanks for sharing. It will be great to have a home base. Love the dog. Wish I lived nearby, my dog could use a sibling like him. :)
If I were lucky enough to have a home of my own like that I would keep the kitchen window and add a wooden table underneath for prep and to keep some fresh herbs, plus it's nice to have a window to open for air when cooking. It looks like the cabinets are quality, if you would like a rustic look you could add wood handles from driftwood or other pieces of wood (like your really nice handmade coat rack) For the exterior a natural color that blends with the environment would look nice.
Congrats on the house, didn't expect it to be like that inside! About your kitchen window: If you cover the lower part of the window as you said, but find a special window with a very narrow frame around it, you might not lose much light at all. The current one has quite a wide frame. And about the upstairs storage platforms: how about adding beds there? Allows you to have many guests every now and then.
What an exciting project your new home is! I'd go for cream walls and either varnished wood or green painted windows and doors. You could do the balustrade on the outside stairs the same as the doors/windows. I think your struggling plant could be an Umbrella Tree (Schefflera). It needs good light, but not too much direct sunlight, and be careful not to overwater it. They're pretty forgiving, so you should be able to revive it! I'm looking forward to watching you turn your new house into your home.

This was my first time to visit your channel. Your expression in the end is priceless. LMAO. I love your dog and the fact that you're fostering him. I already have two rescues, otherwise, I'd love to have him as my own. God bless you.
Beautiful scenery , Lovely home ! The place suits you Marina and so does the dog. He's crazy over you and fits in well. After all, you like antiques and who rescues who any way ? Yellow would be a nice color for the outside. Can't wait to see what's next. 💗🐾👍
I really enjoyed the home tour. Cream would be a nice color, nothing too dramatic, and it would go nice with rustic wood. I love Svetlan. He seems very easy going. Wonder how he will do on hikes? Good luck on your home renovations.
I hope Svetlan will find his forever home, he seems such a relaxed and loving dog ❤ and your house - pick the colour you like, I personally think that a whitewash and some accent colour around the doors and windows would be ideal (and maybe because you are such a great DIY person I would add wooden shutters around the windows, even just as a decorative things)
Cream is a great choice and the options for trim colours are endless. My husband's childhood home in country Queensland Australia is now heritage listed and has been painted cream with soft blue trim. It's beautiful, and there are so many colours that would work, like blues, soft grey, olive, terracotta, red etc....
The little storage loft in the craft room would be ideal for drying herbs and spices and any ointments and meficinal things you may make, and that's kind of craft, too, so it fits in with the general concept. I can just see all of the bushels of herbs hanging there and some paraley and nettles drying on racks; and it would smell so nice. 😀
I just love the property! I think the house would look good if painted cream as you said or off-white color, like a very light grey color. Beautiful property and such a sweet puppy!
Mountain houses are same everywhere. Here in indian Himalayas we have traditional homes of wood. The thing is that the culture here is to be experienced. I hope you would someday visit here at times of festivities so you can experience nature's beauty as well as The culture here. You can visit Kinnaur, manali, Lahaul spiti. I will be so happy to meet you🌻😆😃
I love that you bought a home in Italy. As for the kitchen counter I would keep the window because I like the light and put a same height or maybe even a bit taller table on wheels. Why not move it around. Looks like you could push it out to center as an island and a have little seat by the window also movable for morning coffee/tea.
I would go with a cream color for the house, and a kind of green "provençal" for the door and windows. You were traveling long enough in the south of France, so you understand what I mean with "green provençal". :-)) Nice house, and a garden with great potentiel!
What a beautiful spot you have found. I like your idea of raising the window in the kitchen to gain counter space. That'll make it much more functional.

I think your 4 legged friend loves his life with you, it would be good to have the security of a dog around ❤
I will be so happy to meet you🌻😆😃
You new home is amazing! This video made my day :) Dreams do come true!
That dog just loves you so much...can't you keep him?? It looks like you love him too...!!!
Brilliant - love your house ideas, love your foster dog, love your enthusiasm. Good luck X
Your house is beautiful! I love the beams and the wood on the ceilings.
Beautiful property!! I hope you keep the outdoor railing. I think it would be amazing painted black.
Nice house, and a garden with great potentiel!
your house is really cosy! I would totally raise the kitchen window, AND extend its width to have more light.
Maybe a light green with some touches of white and light wood... This could be a really nice mix, according to the landscape.
I think a sage green would look great. The house would blend in with the nature.
Love being a Foster Mom! I have been volunteering for three years with a local group! Best wishes!
I had a dog that looked just like him. The house is cute what a great location. Paint I think dark grey with eggplant trim 😍
What a beautiful spot you have found. I like your idea of raising the window in the kitchen to gain counter space. That'll make it much more functional.
