That Daredevil cameo was perfect! He made sense to be there, he looked badass, he kicked ass, gave us cool action, left. He didn't overstay his welcome, he took the spotlight for an appropriate amount of time, and his cameo didn't steal any time away from the main character of the show. I think there should be the gold standard on how street level cameos it should be handled going forward in the MCU! I really enjoyed episode 1!
I completely agree, it also gives a really cool to see the "bad guys" perspective of daredevil, he just shows up, kicks ass and disappears when they look away for a second.
The beginning was showing the Choctaw's myth of how our people came to be. Came out of a mound made of mud then turned into human form. It was so great seeing my culture represented especially the last episode.
Let’s not forget the the actress is actually deaf and amputee herself, that makes me think there’s an extra level to the choreography, props to her and the whole team
I love Blind Wave's reactions to anything that has Charlie Cox's Daredevil and/or Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin.
I like how everybody's still conversant in ASL even after she's been gone 20 years. Shows how much love there still is for her back home, especially compared to Kingpin who couldn't be bothered to ever learn.
But also, it might have just been useful in their community, because apparently Native Americans are more likely to be deaf than any other ethnicity, with 1 in 4 people over 18 dealing with some level of hearing loss.
D'Onofrio is a force of nature whenever he shows up in screen, but holy damn Alaqua Cox plays with her gestures and her face incredibly well. Don't forget that this is her first major acting role and she's killing it.
I think he cares for Maya, but it is very conditional. He also cared very much about his mom as well as Vanessa
I agree, I think he cares for Maya, and probably thought her real dad was holding her back.
Calvin: “who is Biscuits?”
Everyone who has finished the show: “Biscuits is a treasure who should be protected at all costs!”
I thought he was annoying af lol
I was so scared he was gonna die a brutal death because of Maya's actions!
But he had a cool moment! He's such a puppy that needs to be protected
@@theasianman513cool
@@theasianman513 I'm with you lmao, couldn't stand him. Dunno why everyone likes him so much.
@@shockzz1234 For the same reason we liked the dog: he's good-natured and loyal.
Billy Jack was a 1970s movie about a Native American man coming home after Vietnam and kick the ass of bad guys taking advantage of his community
*_One Tin Soldier Walks Awaaaaaaay_*
Watched it a few months ago, really good
@@Animalfriend777 i remember the movie bc it was the movie my dad to my mom to on her first date. He also to her to Denny and she had shrimp for the first time. My mom has a major allergy to shellfish. Pops damn near killed my mom on their first date.
Put it on your watch list.
Choctaw people were moved to Oklahoma, from Alabama, during the Trail of tears.
I was born in Choctaw county in Oklahoma.
I see Choctaw people all the time.I live 20 miles from where I was born 😀.
That guy in the roller skate rink was indeed Nathaniel Malick from season 7 of Agents of Shield. He’s not the only returning actor from AoS in this show either.
Whic other actor shows up? I just watched all episode and didnt recognize anyone elsez
I like how you can hear the clang when Daredevil strikes Echo's prosthetic
14:00 since this whole thing is a is a flashback sequence to Maya's appeareance in the Hawkeye mini season, that means Daredevil has his classic suit because this happens before she-hulk
I absolutely adore the trick of "let's make this protagonist look extra badass, by having them viewed by a different, less experienced protagonist".
Matt looked like a beast, barely getting phased by blows from Maya. She managed to get good licks in, but it really felt like going up against the post-final boss in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Him pulling a shelf down on top of her felt like a nice reference to when Bullseye did that to him.
I was like, "Damn Matt 😶 you trying to maim her?" Lol
I loved it! It really gave a feel of “small fish in big pond” vibes. This is an experienced Daredevil, which is something no beginner wants to deal with, especially on their first outing.
@@zacharybartolo5111 It's cringy you people just like him beating her up and would be upset if the other way around happened
You people would have had a mental breakdown had it been the other way around holy hell. She is the protagonist and if she was made badass by bring viewed by another character like that you would ahve a mental breakdown
@@zacharybartolo5111 You are clowns
“Billy Jack” was the character name of a 4 movie franchise that started in 1971. Google it, and I think there was a song too.
Billy Jack is actually named after a movie about a half-Navajo green beret protecting hippies from bigots.
🎼One tin soldier rides away
Now i need to find this movie
Charlie cox is so well casted… he just elevates the scene
"Tell that to Danny Rand"
Or you know, Shang Chi who rode a dragon.
In regards to Fisk and whether he actually cares about Maya or not- He had an ASL interpreter in their meeting. He's known Maya for decades and calls her family, yet either never bothered to learn sign language with her, or simply won't use it so they can communicate in private on an equal footing. He'll say anything to retain control of what he sees as a useful tool, but he won't go so far as to learn ASL to actually communicate with her.
This show built perfectly on that.
5:39, the ones in middle and right, see Dances With Wolves.
Left and right, Kiksuya episode of Westworld.
The part at the beginning with the grandpa telling the story of how "Biscuits Dad got blitzed and ran butt naked into the Red river with the peach pie" leaves you wondering did the actor include the story because he is Canadian and that the red river runs from Winnipeg Manitoba into North Dakota. Or does it imply Biscuits Dad is dead because of how treacherous the river is in real life and explains why biscuits lives with the grandma but still having the audience think it is a funny story.
I liked how even though Kingpin claims their family we saw the distinction between what he defines as family to Maya compared to her actually family. The best example of this is the way both "families" communicate with Maya, with her family they took the time to learn her language and sure it wasn't perfect but parts of her family clearly continued to practice sign considering Biscuits jumped right back into signing to Maya like it's 2nd nature after almost 20 years since he saw her and when we see Kingpin with her even though he's been her "Uncle" since she was a young girl he never once tried to learn her language he just hired someone to translate for him even though we know he is fully fluent in Manderin and another language so he clearly has the capacity to learn but it wasn't as important to him to learn to communicate with his so called "Niece".
I assumed he always knew and was just holding back as to not show all his cards. He clearly knows how to sign by the end, but just simply doesn’t or is just not willing to meet Maya even half way on it.
@@zacharybartolo5111 to me it felt like he picked *some* sign up through osmosis but he isn't actually good enough to have a full conversation with her.
Cool little bit of trivia Echoes grandparents play the chief and his wife in Dances With Wolves
The girl who plays young Maya is Alaqua Cox's real life cousin which is why they look so alike
So glad y’all are reacting to this- it’s been getting so much unnecessary hate
"unnecessary hate"
lmao
finale was underwhelming that's the only complain
Viewing numbers speak for themselves 💀
@_alyan_x Yeah. . . The Disney plus shows really struggle with the finales for some reason.
Honestly, ive watched every mcu show, read the runs echos been in, but i couldnt finish the first episode, honestly just wasnt for me, and thats fine, but it sucks its being overhated
5:35 - Graham Greene and Tantoo Cardinal
Biscuits & Luis (Ant-Man) need a team-up movie together!
glad to see y’all doin good 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Loved this show! Especially when you keep it in sequence with the rest of the details they’ve given us!
Having it on Hulu with ad breaks really does the show a disservice tbh!
The beginning of this show is so unexpected and out of left field I can’t help but praise it. I didn’t have much in the way of expectations, but starting out with a LITERAL underground people was not how I thought we were gonna take off.
sometimes when im down or in a bad mood, i rewatch your daredevil/punisher reactions. Definitely my favorite on your channel!
Yes.. lets go. you guys are the best reactors for this show i think. and ive been waiting fir this :p
Watched this with my mother who is Native American. She geared up and enjoyed it so much.
D’Onofrio stepped backed into kingpin like a suit he hasn’t put on in years but it still fits perfectly 👌🏼
Binged this all in one nite. My 2nd fave Disney Marvel series! Dunno if anyone noticed but Graham Green & Tantoo Cardinal also played a couple in Dances With Wolves
I love watching this being a Native American. I recognized the beginning creation story right away. Its fun watching you guys try and tie it to comic books and nerd stuff that won't help you. I am so grateful you guys react to this, there is an active community trying to hate on this and see it fail. Tyrone Magnus is one of the worst ones for example.
Honestly show wasnt for me, and didnt have time to binge it, i watched a bit of the first episode and it was pretty good, i hate channels that make their personality hating on stuff
@@kadegetslaid634 I appreciate responses like yours, not every show is for everyone, and that’s OK… I feel like those haters, are incentivized to make more videos like that… Because they get paid for it. But there’s a difference between paid for hate, and honest criticism.
@@joshuamendez9959 exactly, mindless hate and genuine criticism are so different
Yeah but on the other hand you have channels that are sponsored by Disney calling it the best thing they've ever seen. So it cancels out.
And in the middle you have channels like Blindwave.
@@haridaspalleeri6765you really think Disney is out here sponsoring people? lol I’ve been on UA-cam a long time and I have never seen Disney publicly sponsor any reaction or review channel
I really dug this show! In a lot of ways it felt like a return to the Defenders feel. Allegedly the show was cut down so much because of Daredevil Born Again’s creative reboot. The original version of this show would’ve featured Matt throughout the series, setting things up for his show that slightly contradicted the Netflix series. So they removed it cause Born Again will now be an actual continuation of the Netflix series, as confirmed by D’Onofrio
I felt like some content was missing for the series, This explains it!
Echo was added to The Defenders Saga section on Disney + too, so that's interesting.
Marvel Spotlight is a new label, meant to be for lower-stakes standalone projects.
WWBN and the Guardians Holiday Special were "Special Presentations", which are kinda similar but not the same, since they are for Disney Plus single-installment specials rather than series.
I was so excited when I saw Malick's actor from the last season of Agents of SHIELD in this.
Throughout this whole show I kept thinking "...Okay, but please, someone just make a passing comment about how that guy's last name was Malick. Please. Just confirm it... please..."
It was a bittersweet moment, as it puts the nail in the coffin of AoS’s non-canonicity
@@chaossalad3243 The MCU has used the same actors for different characters before.
@@stacey603 And in things that are confirmed to be in the same continuity now. Most notably Alfre Woodard playing the mother of the dead kid who guilted Iron Man into agreeing to sign to Sokovia Accords in Civil War, and Marian Dillard in Luke Cage.
Great start of the show, the fights were great, especially with Daredevil :)
Love the creation story. In some cultures native Americans were transformed from ash trees. In others they fell from the sky. In others they came from the ground or a hollow log. Also the actors who play mayas parents were a couple in dances with wolves
I missed it the first time around, but in the campfire scene at the beginning, its Biscuit's dad they say loves peaches
LMAOOOO i love Erics voice of Fisk lmasoioooooooo funny as hell bro
As soon as I watched this episode I knew Eric would recognise him from Shield
Lets all just 10/10 this on IMDb to make sure they continue building up the street level heroes. This was amazing ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We want street level heroes to continue? Yes. Do we need to fake-rate average shows for that? No...
the choctaw were originally from Mississippi and Alabama and other parts of the south, but they were expelled by the US government to Oklahoma to make room for white settlers.
I'm here for the cameo reaction but the idea of trying to take Kingpins spot seems intresting as a premise honestly.
This is where the fun begins
Glad that y’all finally reacting to echo. Hope y’all react to what it season 2 next time.
i’m so late just now starting this 🤣 apmost done with this episode haha daredevil jus showed up🔥🔥 fuckkkk yeah fisk bein back too yesssir
this show made me tear up last night the first like 15 min or so hella death in her family it was crazy 😭 then noticing chief bishop from dexter new blood then DD shows which I forgot which blew my mind forgetting he was returning in this before his season 4😭 was more excited i’ve ever been in a while
Fun Reaction!
Echo has the most confusing first 2 minutes to a show I've ever seen 😅
The show was really enjoyable. I love Maya. I love how it's a show about her life that happens to be in the Marvel universe. And I'm happy about the casting and indigenous consultants, really respectful!
Maya is the actress' FIRST ROLE!
Try The Leftovers Season 2 Episode 1 and get back at me. Lol. Especially after watching season 1.
this isn’t my favorite disney plus show but as a native american i did love seeing the stuff surrounding our culture in the show 😇
Matt's appearance, although it was short, I liked it a lot, it reminded me of Falcon's in Antman 1, in the sense that it is short but serves to test the protagonist, give more action to the series or movie, give it a little more life to the world, since at any moment you can come across a hero right now, connect with another series or movie, etc. I think it worked very well
Been waiting for your reactions to this!
i remember when this was still not released yet and leaked last year or so and i still managed to be late 🤣
I loved this show, im glad you guys are watching it. I feel like you’ll appreciate it more than other reaction channels. My favorite thing I noticed early in this show is Maya’s family all knows ASL even after 20 years, Kingpin does not he hired a translator rather than learn.
Lmao pointing out weak writing. Kingpin who learned another language for business partners couldn't bother to learn sign language for his surrogate daughter.
13:33 My man Daredevil! 🙏🏽💪
Biscuits must be protected at all costs!
Can’t believe they didn’t know Graham Greene’s name.
I loved the opening scenes where we get to see young Maya and her interactions with her family and how her mother died. The moments were able to convey a really great blend of being heartfelt and emotional and traumatic. I also really liked getting to see several of her scenes from the Hawkeye series, I think they were able to do such a great job at bringing us up to speed with where Maya’s character last left off. And I absolutely loved the fight scene in the warehouse, even before Daredevil showed up I thought that fight scene was incredible. The camera work, sound design, the brutal choreography and how violent it was really came together to make this such an impressive and amazing fight scene. And I feel like the choreography got even better when Daredevil showed up, each movement just felt so fast paced and intentional and their fight styles felt so true and accurate to their characters. Just getting to see Maya and Daredevil fight was so awesome and I really hope these two get to interact again.
4:28 - 4:30 "is this the right show" that's what I was saying when I first saw this beginning
In the last episode of Echo. There’s a post credit scene.
its so accurate how quick Matt got over that fence.. cus that's how fast i do it (within a second).. just without a 360 midair lol
i need to go back and watch hawkeye still or just watch y’all’s series on it but love my defenders
FINALLY MY GUYSSS
"Teacher! The blind kid and the deaf kid are fighting again!"
Now that the Netflix-Shows are canon AND also knowing a) the ending/after-credits-scene of Echo, b) the rumours about Spider-Man 4 having Tom Holland's Spidey facing more street-level threats, gangs and such and c) that Spidey has, afaik, good relationships, even friendships, with most of the Netflix-Defenders in the comics, it would be so cool to have Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist joing Spider-Man in taking down the gangs of New York and, ultimately, Mayor (?) Wilson Fisk.
From the stuff marvel has put out recently other than what if & loki. I really like how they did episode 1 & I cant wait to see the rest of the series. I was gonna wait to watch them react to each episode, but I think I'll watch the episodes then watch each reaction whenever there out cuz for some reason it just feels different watching it alone then watching a group of people react to the same thing I just watched. Im also wondering if there gonna start on s2 of what if at some point 🤔
just realized too rita from dexter was in punisher warzone with stevenson aka Isaak Sirko thats crazyyyyyy
This show slaps from front to back, so glad y’all are digging it
I have been waiting for this
I agree with Eric with Kingpin! Its like when your playing with your favorite action figure when your young. You love the toy, but your way to aggresive with it. Then maybe your walking around and step on it and you get hurt, and in a childs anger you pick it up and break it
Billy Jack... an old movie, dated now I think, but loved it when I was younger, guessing it means his dog is tough lol
I thought it was a fun series outside of the underwhelming finale. Loved the fight scene in ep3 to Rob 🧟
This is a good mini season
By Maya it’s the one who peers in the movie
Echo is very underrated and I hope to see more of her ❤
Ahhhh I wish they knew the daredevil fight took place during the blip. As well as the Netflix shows being officially canon to the 616 earth haha
Skvli iksho means “No money” btw 😂😂
Marvel's insane luck of finding a native actress, the right age who is also deaf and an amputee in real life is absolutley wild
One of the best SUPERHERO fight scenes is NOW Echo v Daredevil
Anything involving kingpin is a W in my book
Dudes, go watch the movie “Billy Jack” and you’ll get the reference.
Love the DD fight scene, but I agree with someone else who said they should’ve tailored it to their disabilities/advantages, aka a subway tunnel with screeching brakes and blinding lights, giving each fighter an advantage at different times.
Whoa whoa whoa!!!!.....where's What If season 2?
I absolutely loved this show. F the haters.
Kingpin is a low key mutant in the comics, so it's not at all surprising he survived something like that, but he likely doesn't have super special healing factor like Logan or Deadpool so it's probably going to take a hot minute for him to get back in working order.
It's why Kingpin can usually go toe to toe with Spider-man and Daredevil since he's not really a trained martial artist, he's just a stupidly strong large man being a low key mutant.
Let's gooo. I loved Echo ever since she popped up in the comics. Love seeing people react and enjoy HER SHOW!!!!
It doesn’t make sense how a human could enjoy garbage though.
@@Venom-lr3sq Does it make more or less sense than looking for reactions of a show you didnt enjoy, so you can respond to multiple people that enjoyed it and tell them how wrong they are? Not sure about humans enjoying garbage, but you certainly seem like a garbage human.

All Marvel Spotlight means is that you don’t have to watch any previous Marvel projects to get this one to let people know they don’t have to watch any previous Marvel entertainment to understand the show.
I’m glad the Marvel Netflix shows are canon, but can Agents of SHIELD have that same courtesy? Without our team, we wouldn’t even have Daredevil.
