I don't really know much about Marvel comics, but from my quick search I saw that apparently Echo shoot Fisk on the head in the comics and he goes blind (he does surgery later on and recover his sight), since they adapted his real strength from the comics too my guess is that this is just one big reference/adaptation of the comics... He probably will comeback later, on a future project, at least I hope so.

A huge info was that Hawkeyes wife in this incarnation was Agent 19 which is Mockingbird. In the comics Hawkeye's usual love interest is also Mockingbird, it wouldn't be Laura but for the MCU version it is.
One thing you don’t know @manofrecaps is that Vincent the actor who played kingpin confirmed that it’s the same kingpin from daredevil meaning that Hawkeye took place a few years after Matt humiliated him in the daredevil finale
