I've spoken to some Delta and Air Baltic pilots who came to pick up their A220's from Mirabel (Delta's A220-300 come from Alabama). They all mentioned the A220-100 and A220-300, even loaded with fuel, passengers and luggage, both have way too much power, and a big de-rate was used almost all the time. Delta's pilots said they never have seen something jump so early from the runway and climb so fast, even compared to their 757s. Air Baltic pilots said their engines were leased, so they paid extra every time full takeoff thrust was logged on their engines.
That's a "GOOD THING" considering it's a regional aircraft. What the pilots should be focusing on and raving about is the fuel efficiency of these aircraft. Which is quite literally incomparable in the commercial regional jet market.
@@tomtalker2000 The A220 is not a regional aircraft! Most airlines use it for longer non-regional trips. The A220 a small mainline transcontinental medium-range ETOPS-180 aircraft with the same range (3550 nautical miles) as the 737MAX-8 and A320neo. For Breeze Airways, their A220-300’s will have extra fuel tanks, are Transatlantic-capable and have the same range (4000 nautical miles) as the A321LR.
@@texasabbott It still surpasses the MAX in my humble opinion. In terms of it's technology and SUPERIOR quietness.
That's a good thing though, isn't it?
Excellent footage! Looks like it was a morning departure.
Yup! This was very early in the morning.
Flaps 3 take off?
Canadian technology.
