I feel this may turn into a rant, so I apologise in advance. Maybe this is just me, but I kind of think Red respected Donald a bit more than Tom, & despite all his tweaking of Donald- I think deep down, he might have also thought him better for Liz. I don’t believe Donald should stay with the taskforce- because, I don’t think that- logically- as an agent, he would have been able to bend his code for Liz a third time round, without ending his career. The way I see it, Donald was at the point where he either had to completely break from her, or completely commit to her- & given the whole ‘scrub’ order, paired with the long interim period of desk-jockeying, & fit-evals he would be subject to, to regain field agent status, that would have cemented the choice for me- were I, him... It would have been interesting, but also better, IMO- to see the two of them adapt more to the criminal world - Red liked tweaking Donald, as the ‘golden boy’ agent- but we know he’s a little bit more complicated than that, so that would have made for some interesting scenarios. I don’t know anything about Megan’s reasons for leaving/ where the show is supposed to be going- but I have my headcanon for what would have been better - & even if Megan wanted to leave- it’s already been established in this world, that plastic surgery would be a viable option, to cover a recasting. I was also hoping to see a flashback/ reference to the island fortress Red had prepared for Liz- if she needed a base to finish taking down the Blacklist/ reestablish the Nest, it would have made sense... To be honest- a lot about this season, & even last season didn’t sit right with me- the only thing that truly does; Donald & Liz- on the same side....
I'm still thinking about ending Season 8, and even though we survived Liz's death, I can't believe we've finally said goodbye to her character. I am slowly beginning to doubt if Megan Boone's departure from the series was planned! Isn't it an element of a larger advertising campaign before the final 9 season? I'm starting to lean to the theory that Liz is not dead at all and will return in the final, final part of the story. After all, her death was nonsensical and completely refutes the logic of the narrative of the entire series over the years! Is she put to death without finding out the truth about who Red is? I'm not buying it! It was for this truth that she conspired against him, entered into hostile alliances to finally declare open war on him! Keeping Liz dead under such circumstances is pointless! Besides ... Why did the writers show the nascent feeling - love between Keen and Ressler, when they were about to shoot her in the last scene ?! This completely pointless! It seems to me that just before the premiere of season 9, there will be sensational news about the return of Megan Boone! There will be no better advertising for the Blacklist! :))

Keen x NOBODY. She doesn't deserve anything. She made her "friends" suffer, just to get what she wanted. Put someone who kept her alive in jail AND almost got him executed. Keen left her daughter alone with someone she barely knew for so many months.

(The kiss and the sex) in bi so I really just found the sex scene hot because of her and not really because of them. And that a major let for me because with Tom and Lizzie, I still felt for them. Maybe I’m just full on lesbian with daddy issues😭♥️but yeah I ship Red and Lizzie.
