750 ml US bottle is released once or twice a year. It is in the Fall 2023 TW Grand Reserve raffle.
The Gold released in Canada is a 750 ml bottle as well. They make pretty good trade bottles with my Bourbon friends in NY. For the most part they are now lottery in Ontario and they sometimes sneak a quick drop in stores that creates a mad rush for taters and flippers
I feel very fortunate to have picked up a bottle of Blanton's Gold today for less than MSRP at none other than Stater Bros grocery. They had one bottle at MSRP and a 30% off special if you bought four bottles of ANY spirits. I ended up buying three bottles of some cheap stuff at $5/bottle to save $45 on the Blantons. I hope someone else scored that deal because it appears I got the last one. Cheers!
Great review. I got a couple of 750ml bottles while on holiday in South Africa covered in dust. Very random. Haven’t tried it yet.

I got it in England and did a blind with Blanton’s Gold, Blanton’s, JJ Bowman Single, and Bowman Small Batch. For me; it was Gold, Small Batch, JJ Bowman Single and then Blanton’s. The big surprise was the Bowman Single. It’s one that I regularly get and this particular one was not quite as good as others. As for regular Blanton’s- I’ve had great bottles and meh bottles. In the end, the Gold was good but I agree that it’s not something to spend too much money on

I've bought a few bottles of Blanton's Gold while traveling in England on a couple of trips. Paid about $82 in 2017 and $93 in 2019. Also bought a STFB in 2017 for $109. They were all 700 ml. I've only had one of the Golds. It was good, but I think there are bottles I could easily find for around the same price.

It’s very good and one of my favorites. Drank two bottles this summer and felt it was a good value.
Grabbed some of a Europe auction @ $205 and will buy more.

what's up Trev. I was tipped off by the associates at my Local Total Wine in Mass to stop in the store early the Saturday before Thanksgiving last year. Sure enough, they had about 25 allocated bottles for sale (limit 1 per customer). They had 2 bottles of the Gold. Due to the hype, I bought one. Got the "S". It was good at $150. Would have been better for $80. I won't buy another if I see it at that price. But, I am glad I tried and shared it with my drinking buddies.
Just got 2 bottles of Blantons Gold in SC 2 weeks ago. I paid $150 a bottle. They were however the 700ML ones with import stickers from La Masion Du Whisky

Seems to be available in America couple times a year know. I paid $130 today. I don't think I would pay more for it.

I got a bottle on secondary for like 150 or 175 two or three years ago. I agree with everything you said… a better version of Blanton’s with a better mid palate and a finish (Blanton’s regular is usually missing that)… and most importantly, a hit of oak just like you described.
I wouldn’t mind paying 80, maybe 100 or 120 for Blanton’s gold. At 120, I am just paying for a better version of Blanton’s for Blanton’s lovers to try.
I also have a bottle of Blanton’s Straight from the Barrel. I think it is good, but at that proof point, it doesn’t really even resemble Blanton’s any more. Those delicate orange marmalade flavors are completely covered up by the proof as opposed to the Gold, which is like a Blanton’s Plus.
These are single barrel, so YMMV. I haven’t really sought out more. I own the trilogy. My quest is done.

Just bought 3 bottles for $150 canadian each in alberta canada. Ithinks its a very good tasting bourbon
I have a chance to get a bottle tomorrow if I get in line early enough. $200/bottls, with the conceit that I can get it for $130 if I buy an extra $100 worth of booze there.

I really like this one, but it certainly has become very pricey. I'd rather spend a bit extra and go for SFTB. Cheers.
Gold is so much better than regular Blantons, but I would still not pay the crazy secondary prices you guys have in the US.
Yes Gold is worth around 70-80 dollars, not more.
I bought mine (in my home country Denmark) for around 75 dollars (+ 25 dollars stupid EU bourbon tax), and I am not sure I will re-stock, when it's gone, eventhough I like it.
I guess for us outsiders, it’s a bit of a special splurge. I’d agree with you though, probably wouldn’t replace it once this one is gone especially at the price I paid
When it gets released here, it's $102 CAD... they just released it last weekend and it was all gone in the first hour the store was open 😅

@@chrisbrown7216 BSW up by the airport in Calgary has some Blanton's Gold right now. I think they got in 12 total (minus 1 lol). However, its now like $199.99-210.99 CAD. I last saw it on the LCBO website for $169.99. Probably never buy another bottle, but I thought for a one-off experience, it may be.
