Thank you Dwayne glad you liked it. This tung oil is really a form of poly. It is a lot like wipe on poly. I once finished a oak roll top desk I made with pure tung oil. Actually it was just the roller section of the desk as I recall. Not all that shiny but still looks good after 45 years. Take care, Gary
Thank You Gary....a lot of thought went into this piece...In the future would you consider doing more in the same way exploring different woods ??...I sure like the sheen of the wood and the precious little size of an immaculate turning..Beautiful piece Gary....tm
You know Gary, since I have been the turning videos I cannot help wondering what the inside soul of the tree look like when I see one with the beautiful bark on the outside. This morning there was a photo of an awesome eucalyptus tree. Gary the colors in that bark wow it was absolutely stunning.
That is very interesting Kobie, I often wonder what the inside of a tree looks like after seeing the bark. I had wondered for years about Black Locust and then last year when I Black Locust tree down the road was taken down I was able to get a lot of the wood. Not only is the bark spectacular but the wood is amazing.
Thank you very much. I will put it on the list. Have you seen the one I made that is half that size? It was a friendly challenge I did. Take care, Gary
Hi Gary...I really love that little segmented vase...you're correct in that it looks a lot bigger than it is...the combination of wenge and padouk is great...I did a bottle stopper using these woods and that too looked great...great shape..great finish...great video...cheers..All the best.....Andy
