ICBC is a joke. They need to start reeducating and retesting anybody who causes a preventable incident. Jack their base rate up by 50% or more and require them to have full optional insurance. I have had ZERO accidents and I've prevented dozens because I actually pay attention.

@@WowRixter absolutely. Insurance in Ontario where I grew up is totally privatized, which breeds competition, so insurers are actually incentivized to be liked by the customer. ICBC has free reign to be absolute scum.

Heavy trucks have huge blind spots. Especially the front right corner. That Yaris trying to enter illegaly(over solid white line) and not using a zipper pattern, get what they get :)

Good thing there is a mountain range between Vancouver and the interior, since we've got close to 2 meters of snow in the last 6 days, they're stuck down there and we are very safe up here. As usual, thank you for posting Vancouver's learners drivers.

poor driver? Ethan was dumb but are you BLIND? Look at the lights. The advanced green likely just ended as the L driver decided to take a turn. Many drivers turning left seem to think that once the arrow goes from arrow to green, that its acceptable to still fit one or two cars through, and it is to a degree, but he was way late. He definitely 100% did not have an arrow here. Ethan sucks at defensive driving, but you're probably a bad driver too if you can't deduce what is happening in this situation.
WAY late, look at when he decides to turn relative to when the light turns green for Ethan. Drivers turning left that late are fucking terrible, and you defending that is BS. Poor driver? give me a break. Look, the light changes, and he isnt even waitting in the intersection or at the line, he speeds up to make the incredibly late turn. If he was wwaiting in the intersection or was even at the line then that is semi understandable. You dont speed up to make a bad move.

Actually, the other guy was 100% at fault per ICBC, learn the rules of the road before you comment. I could have been more defensive, but in hindsight, everything happens quickly.

@@reasonablerage4370 Regardless of at fault in this case, you got super lucky with that. You can't just start accelerating when cars are still in the intersection. If nothing to avoid unreasonable damage to your car. Not to mention icbc loves to drop "driving with undo care and attention" to their shit.
I have to share my thoughts at the 1:11 area. The video is potato, but it appears the red hand is flashing. IF* that is true (in this case), a pedestrian is not allowed to enter the crosswalk once the hand is flashing. As a truck driver, the amount of people who enter the intersection when the hand is flashing is not only getting worse, but now when the opposite flow of traffic gets the green, they still have to wait for my big truck to clear the intersection

There are soo sooo many people cutting corners esp on side streets.
All those red light runners, and folks cutting everyone off in a rush they prob got themselves an escort in the car and rushing to drop them home. Cause man escorts charge by the hour and those folks can’t afford the payments.
1:08, I actually beg to differ. The pedestrian started crossing with the hand up and the timer running. As I say to everyone I know, contrary to popular belief the hand is not motioning to come, it's telling you to stop unless you've already started crossing.
I missed that. I always shout out my window that the red hand means stop but they always just flip me off. That's the Vancouver entitlement disease.

@@vancouversworstdrivers It totally is. My dad was the one who recorded the clip at 4:59, I was actually in the car with him at the time. What blew me away was the fact that not a single person honked at the lady who cut everyone off. What blew me away even more was the fact that this lady had the nerve to cut everyone off right in front of the Coquitlam police station.
not gonna lie ethan being a bit of a bonehead at 2:38. it was so obvious that hyundai was gonna cut him off. ethan barely made an effort to stop and only did so way too late.

the tesla ahead of this hyundai was already way late.. making this 2:38 hyundai way way late well after the full green light for thru-traffic.
ethan was already gracious enough to not take off immediately after the 2:35 light clearly changes green - then, 2:36 onward these two make their late lefts.

Wow, so many bad drivers again. It's too bad we can't take these Dashcam movies and send them to ICBC. We need a "tipline" where Dash cam footage could be submitted to help penalize these bad drivers.
The pedestrian at 0:57 seconds was probably running for the bus and we were always taught how to both ways before crossing the street
The thing that boils my piss about pedestrians is when they cross the road, usually when the road is busy, there is a cross walk not 20 feet away. Seems it makes more sense to them to risk their lives rather than expend the energy to walk 40 feet.
I gotta get a dash cam - I see so much crazy stuff out there....

OMG, the guy's commentary in this video. Had me cracking up 🤣😂. I was in an accident in December. Guy pulled out in front of me. Just bought a dash cam yesterday. Wish I had it that day.
2:35 - light turns green and dashcammer mashes on the gas like he's in the Daytona 500. Not putting blame on him but having waited a second or two and accelerated like a civil human would have prevented that accident - Defensive Driving 101

06:34 lol clearly not legal. U turns in BC are illegal, period, unless there is a sign that explicitly says U turns allowed, which are rare. Many intersections have a NO U TURN sign which is confusing because they are illegal across the board, but those signs are just meant to deter drivers from doing it, where it commonly happens despite its legality

When we were 10, my buddy used to take out his parents' minivan to just drive around the neighbourhood. I think I took one ride about half a block because every bone in my body told me it was a bad idea. It was a thing for months and I don't think anyone got caught.
When my sister was 15, she unwittingly got in the car with someone who stole their parents' car without a license. The driver swerved off an isolated road in Richmond and the windshield was impaled by a farmer's fence post. My sister broke her arm backward at the elbow and the fence post was inches from impaling her. She bought real estate with the settlement, which was a good decision financially.

Has anyone sent in the crazy crash that happened and Georgia and Jervis last Thursday the 23rd around 6pm. It happened right in front of me but I was in my work truck so didn't get it on dashcam. This Tesla drove south on Jervis and couldn't see that it wasn't clear from traffic east on Georgia and got absolutely t boned and spun around by the car that was in the left lane going along Georgia. The tesla spun around and went up on 2 wheels and almost flipped over. Both drivers got out of their cars right away though and they didn't appear injured.

2:35 it's the fault of the guy with the cam he accelerates immediately into the vehicle..if he drove normally it would have been fine and the vehicle would have gone through. He had a ego trip likely and didn't want that last vehicle to go so he accelerated right at it
You can't turn onto on-coming traffic on a solid green light when the adjacent driver has a green going straight.

ICBC doesn't care if you floor it (which I did not do) or speed (I wasn't even going 30); the driver who fails to yeild is 100% at fault, which I got word from a ICBC representative; I was not found at fault.

Turn around is not illegal at the intersection. All of turn move after you need to make sure no one is coming or if someone come you must to let them go. So if you driving and turning left you can turn again just you can’t put other drivers in dangerous situations.
Technically it is...it's illegal to do a uturn at any "controlled" intersection anywhere in BC
@@vancouversworstdrivers if I know right turning on intersection how many times you make turns that many times count the turns. But I’m agree that is dangerous and unnecessary risk just for a quicker arrival. I’m agree that people believe that they can drive and many times I see that they are not even close I’m saying because I know what I see and because I have some rally-racing-drifting and kart series years behind me. Especially in Richmond and highway exit to Richmond. I’m absolutely happy for your videos but maybe you should cooperate with rcmp too that those drivers got them results. I don’t know how is work here coz I’m from Europe but after the camera recording the police steps in and sending to the car owner the fines.

The reason this channel and others like it even exist is because police have abdicated enforcing traffic safety laws. If more people received tickets and lost their vehicles for bad driving perhaps things would improve. WHERE HAVE ALL THE TRAFFIC COPS GONE?

Your videos are great but they'd be better if instead of you just asking what people "think", provide actual legal summaries of the driving. Because it's not about what we think, it's ends up being who is legally liable. For instance, someone might be a shithead at a 4 way stop, but I'm pretty sure it's illegal to enter the intersection if another car is already in it regardless. Turn this in to more of an education channel. If you want.
Thanks for the feedback! The problem is is that often ICBC comes up with arbitrary reasons why someone at fault and I'm no legal expert so I try to avoid making those statements. I do try and do general education when possible :)
@@vancouversworstdrivers Yeah, that's kind of why I suggested it. Like it or not, ICBC is going to rely on the law as stated in the motor vehicle act. What might seem like a no brainer to most of us sometimes isn't as clear cut legally. Sometimes common sense doesn't equal legal sense is all I'm trying to say.
