Most beautiful song... I don't know how many times i heard this song.... ELFMAN is one of a greatest musician.... I love him so much.. Thank you sir... For this EXCELLENT SONG..
When I first saw these opening credits I thought this movie was going to be EPIC... the entire feel and look of this scene with that song gave me goosebumps! The humor brought the entire movie down.
tim burton totally should've made this a TV series like the original. I really wanted to see more of Victoria's character. I feel like this movie would've done better as a TV show because of all of it's many plot points. I also just kinda get TV show vibe from this intro
If Tim Burton and Johnny Depp had had a little more faith in the original source material they claimed to love and had played the rest of the film as straight, moody and (neo)gothic as this absolutely beautiful title sequence, the movie might have been a success and certainly would've been a lot more interesting than what we got.
I see the scene in the Train were she is Reciting a "Line" But nailed the Interview lol you're hired type of Mood Instant Kudos Victoria excuse me Vickie

Nights in white satin Never reaching the end Letters I've written Never meaning to send Beauty I'd always missed With these eyes before Just what the truth is I can't say anymore 'Cause I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Gazing at people Some hand in hand Just what I'm going through They can't understand Some try to tell me Thoughts they cannot defend Just what you want to be You will be in the end And I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Oh, how I love you Nights in white satin Never reaching the end Letters I've written Never meaning to send Beauty I've always missed With these eyes before Just what the truth is I can't say anymore 'Cause I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Oh, how I love you 'Cause I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Oh, how I love you
I mean... The only thing that ruins it is the exterior shots of the train. That's a modern Amtrak "Downeaster" train with a GE P42 "Genesis"-class locomotive... which wasn't built until the mid 1990s... Also there was no Amtrak route to Maine until 2001.

Nicolas Ahumada It was all CGI dude. All the interior shots was a set with green screen background. All exterior shots of the train was CGI. I think one or two shots was filmed in the Bayou of New Orleans. But I'm not sure on that it was a while back I learned (when the movie first released) As for the car scene. Probably some rural road like usual.
Tim, what happened to you? You used to set all your opening credits to tracking shots scored by Danny Elfman, even if you had to CGI them. What changed, man? What changed??
One of the best title openings.
'cause it's Tim Burton
😭
Because road-movie scene, beatiful song and woman.

🤩☺️I totally Agree 💯%
Regardless of what you think of this movie, you can't deny it's one of Burton's most beautiful looking movies, Delbonnel's cinematography is gorgeous.
If the whole film was as good as the first couple of minutes, it might have been one of Burton's best films. Had such potential.
Agreed. Why he thought turning Dark Shadows into a stupid comedy was a good idea is beyond me. What a waste of the cast too.
Exactly! The humor brought it down. Could've been an epic horror film
"Epic horror movie" boring @@JP5466
I loved this opening! I wasn't even sure I wanted to see the movie, but this opening hooked me. Thanks for posting it.
I'm not aloud to watch it anymore

One of the most beautiful opening scene in movie history ♡♡♡
Name of the song - Nights in White Satin from Moody Blues
Simply magnificent. Best part of film. Kudos.

I really wish their was a series like this 🙌
It was a series in the 1960s, and there were 2 movies made for TV.
Most beautiful song... I don't know how many times i heard this song.... ELFMAN is one of a greatest musician.... I love him so much.. Thank you sir... For this EXCELLENT SONG..
The song is by the Moody Blues. Justin Hayward is singing.
Beautiful edit.. Wonderful music... Ameziing lighting.. Lovely direction... My heart is melting... What a seen.!

They have no restraint or control. Sadly.
This, absolutely!
Agreed. Why they turned it into so much of a comedy is beyond me. The original series was never about going for laughs.
A brilliant opening and a nice nod to the first scene of the TV series. Perfect music and scene setter. It went downhill real fast after that.
Vicky is my favorite character in this film
They really got the period right
I came for Eva green but fell for Vicky !! Elegant, sophisticated and tender
Beautiful song
I like it to

The film did not fulfill the promise of this title sequence-but what a promise it was!
Absolutely love this.
Prior to this title sequence, my favourite had been the title sequence for DOCTOR ZHIVAGO. This was stunning.
Perfect sing for a perfect movie

Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore
'Cause I love you
Yes, I love you
Oh, how I love you
Gazing at people
Some hand in hand
Just what I'm going through
They can't understand
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end
And I love you
Yes, I love you
Oh, how I love you
Oh, how I love you
Nights in white satin
Never reaching the end
Letters I've written
Never meaning to send
Beauty I've always missed
With these eyes before
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore
'Cause I love you
Yes, I love you
Oh, how I love you
Oh, how I love you
'Cause I love you
Yes, I love you
Oh, how I love you
Oh, how I love you
A Tim Burton Film🌹
A heard this song in a Bronx tale the first time
i dont get why people crap on tim burton movies, like this movie is so good as well as all of his other work
Not bad. Cool sound.🙂
I like ! the song is beautiful .. group Moody Blue... night white satin. .
Beautiful opening. Shame the rest of the movie couldn't make up its mind to follow its tone.
Whatever Tim Burton decides to film, he puts his fingerprints on it. And Danny Elfman goes with him. And then we all gather together.
Great job👍
Victoria Winters, daughter of Captain Winters from Band of Brothers! I knew it!
