Great reaction! This was NF and his Fear battling. He buried Fear in the back of his mind. One burden he will not deal with going into the next album.
This is Nate's fear talking to him and him fighting back against it. Crazy stuff but unbelievably awesome 👌

I think you have to listen to the song Mansion again, especially the last half.
Also in Outro he says, "Listen to Intro 3, trying to kill my fear. They'll get that in a minute..."
Now that you know it's Fear talking, listen to Intro 3 again and it'll make more sense. For parts of it, NF and Fear are talking back and forth. It's tricky to tell who is who sometimes, but it starts with Fear and ends with NF. NF buries his Fear.
Fear was with him during the abuse, but it was also on stage with him, and a lot of his songs are written because of the fear he's experienced in his life.
He references a song he wrote for Johnny. We assume this was his mother's boyfriend who abused him. He wrote the song without Fear, but he needs Anger to write it, so he can't bury Anger. I'm hoping he'll release this song on the next album.
This is my favorite NF song. His writing in this is insane.
Hundred percent agreed. I think this is one of the greatest songs ever written on a lyrical, symbolic, and instrumental basis. Even though there’s no music video for it, I think the song is even better served to let us visualize this confrontation. My favorite he’s ever made

It's fear! He finally buried it. Johnny is believed to be his Mom's boyfriend that use to beat them. NF is hanging onto anger for the song he writes about Johnny.
I feel like you are gonna have a bunch of people correcting you and telling you what this song is, but honestly I really like what your interpretation was! The idea of this song shows Nate getting out of his head and moving forward MAKES SENSE!! The albums after this album, Nate goes crazy and goes hay wire on all tracks! And it also makes sense with the popular meaning in this song, how he had to kill his fear in order to do it. I love the journey you're going on man, the NF train be riding deep!

To be perfectly honest, I had to listen to this song a crapload of times before it started to “click” for me. I guarantee it took a lot of us in these comments several listens to understand it. I still don’t know exactly what I’m hearing with each line. I thought you did a great job!

Johnny is Nate's dad who abused Nate and now nate is out of his cage so he's talking to the emotions and I think intro l intro ll and intro III is all the emotions that has been there when he was a kid and now nate has released those emotions and like he said he won't bury anger because he's using that for the next song

Fear was the antagonist. Johnny was his mom's boyfriend he's the one who beat him up. That's a joke was written five or six years before clouds.
It is believed that Johnny was his abuser.
Ah I really thought you'd catch it but that's okay. A lot of people don't their first time. Make sure you go back and listen to it again now that you know it was Fear talking and it's direct tie from Mansion. Gives off a whole new vibe listening to the song when fear is personified as a person. It's crazy good! 🔥

I never looked at the album cover art the way you did, but I see exactly what you're saying about him covering his mouth. I agree that could be the intent, but who knows. I don't lol. As far as Johnny goes... Johnny is the name NF uses to refer to his abuser. I don't think NF explicitly says who his abuser was. NF hasn't made a song about Johnny yet and who knows if he ever will.

@@DonVon because people help and tell us to hear Mansion and Outro before Intro 3, then it's matter of connecting the dots, where did fear came to his house? the basement. What happened in the basement? He was phisically abused by the mothers boyfriend. What sentiment came from there beside fear? Anger, that he's going to need to write a song about Johnny, that lives in the basement. So this is a "to continued" from what i know the song about Johnny is not out, yet
