      I would assume that gap between the front panel and that shroud is for radiator clearance while still keeping the shroud in place.

    Dude, you’ve gone and done it again! This is my favorite case showcased on your channel so far.
    Cooler Master is my top 2nd case maker after Fractal Design, and I can actually see myself building a PC in this beauty (unfortunately, not too soon). They’ve finally admitted that efficient PC air movement was their true and only claim to fame. So, the H500 stands as a strong manifestation of that fact, also the great affordability!
    Cooler Master for the win!

    Why do people put so much emphasis on the front screws, how often do you remove the glass for it to be a problem, unless you’re using the case as a birdcage?
    I think I removed the glass twice since I built my system, hardly even remember doing it.

    • @jdtechgear
      @jdtechgear  6 років тому +13

      There's plenty of people that swap parts constantly, even just conducting a regular cleaning, or any troubleshooting. There's many use case scenarios. Also, the In Win 101 was able to make a near flawless and easy TG panel removal for a $70 case, that sets a standard for other manufacturers. I do understand where you're coming from though

    • @absolarix
      @absolarix 5 років тому +3

      Something I really prefer about this case is that those screws are there, and they are the way they are. I don't like the appearance of thumb screws, and I can just use a plastic tool of some kind on the screws to avoid scratching the glass. I'm building a PC soon, and the more I see of this case, the more I like it. The only thing I don't like about it is the HDD bays.

    Biggest selling point for me was how this came with installed fans. I was looking at getting an $89 case and buying fans separately, but it would have came out to the same price overall.

  • @Zerviscos

    The gap is probably because they thought of radiator mounting on front covering the cables.
    A push-pull setup is done out of the box with this if you have an aio with you. The reason why this case is such a great one for such a budget price is because of the 2 huge fans in front. You already have a push-pull setup with just your aio stock fans without trying to purchase more fans. I love it.

    This is another great case offering, given to us by Cooler Master.
    I'm a huge Cooler Master fan.
    I also have plans of doing another PC build soon and this case would be an excellent choice for it.
    I like how this case sits high of the surface. Allowing for good airflow all around.
    Nice review, of an overall topnotch CM case.

    The front fans are drastically blocked on this case by the chassis. Cutting out the front chassis to match the fan size yielded me a 4C drop on GPU and CPU.

  • @CaptinLongdong1
    @CaptinLongdong1 3 роки тому

    Nice Review. For those looking to buy this case, here's my 2 cents. The 2 200mm fans in the front will only take Cooler Master brand. If you want others, it may take some bending/modification. The top won't fit a 360 AIO, which is a major downside to this case, and the only placement for a 360 is behind the 2 200mm fans, which can choke the airflow. but, for $100, this case is sexy and is worth it. Its very clean and simple, just wish it was 2 inches taller to accommodate a 360 AIO.. Good review.

  • @CrimFerret
    @CrimFerret 4 роки тому

    I'll be building a new PC in the next month and the case choice is pretty much between this and a Fractal design R6. Both come with full cooling solutions using decent fans.Both have good front I/O which seems uncommon at any price point. This has better airflow. The R6 is quieter, with some extra features I'd likely use but aren't dealbreakers. It's also $30 more expensive. RGB isn't a consideration for me and I wouldn't plug it in if I went with this. I don't think I'll go wrong either way.

    I plan to grab this for my very first build with coincidentally that same ASUS board and a Ryzen 7 1700. I've been fixing PCs all my life but was always too intimidated by the thought of bricking $600+ worth of hardware. After seeing the Verge build disaster actually post, that made made me feel like I could do it. XD

      @4 أنمي I'm a fan of the Cooler Master cases. Their look, and function. It depends on your price point. I mean, I think one of their top line cases is the Cosmos. C700p, I think. It's like $3-400 though. If you're looking at the $100-150 price range, I'd definitely recommend this one. I'm sure there's some other good ones, I just own this one. lol This one has room, airflow, etc.

      their h500p has been given a lot of crap because the panels literally would fall off during handling. Before the MESH version came out case temps were horrid, it wasn't until people complained and big youtubers complained that they stepped up their game. Sad part is, they took the reviews badly and even ignored previous youtubers they worked with because of the bad reviews they refused to acknowledge.

    Hey JD!
    I noticed you added a couple of fans up top, and replaced the out-of-the-box rear exhaust fan.
    I assume the rear fan is still exhaust, and that you kept the front fans there for the intake, but what about the top fans? How did you configure them? And would it be necessary in a 1440p build? (Something along the lines of Ryzen 1700X and a GTX 1070ti)

    How is the original fans? are they good enough to keep? i plan on changing them to noctua 2x 200mm front, 2x 140mm top and 1x 120mm rear. i wanted to reduce all my heat issues. if they are good enough, i can save some money because those noctua are expensive but best in class

    I'm just looking for a case that can fit my cpu tower cooler and gpu vertically with the cablemod pci-e mount.
    This one looks...kind of possible.

    thanks for the great review, I am torn between this case and the newer Lian Li Lancool 215, but due to availability in Canada I am leaning towards this one. As I have huge thermal issues with my current Corsair case. Thanks for the great review

      Hello, I am also torn between these 2 cases. How's your experience with the thermals with the H500?

    • @capidano6248
      @capidano6248 2 роки тому +1

      @@wreckzu love it! I purchased 2 of them! Very easy to work in and cable management was enjoyable! Case looks great, I used the mesh front (not the clear front) for thermals and everything runs super cool even with intense gaming. Case is quite aswell, as the front fans are so big they move alot of air without much rpm's.
      Being a full mesh front, dust can be pulled into the case a bit easily, but just give the front a quick wipe here or there and your good.

      @@capidano6248 regarding gpu thermals, did you put additional fans underneath?

    • @capidano6248
      @capidano6248 2 роки тому

      @@wreckzu notta , the 2x 200mm fans at the front bring in quite alot of fresh air and using only the single 120mm exhaust at the back. I have had no issues.
      I also use the shroud over the PSU so it is enclosed and has no effect.
      I am running a ryzen 5 in both cases that we own and a 6700xt gpu in one case and a 3060ti in the other. While putting in a couple hours of CoD, Farcry 6, Division 2 all at ultra settings @1080p the cards and fans don't break a sweat. Most times hovering around 55 - 60°C.
      Hope this helps, Any other questions fire away!
      My dad owns the Lian Li 215 (similar look and design with the 2x200mm front fans), and it is also a very nice case, but this one seems to have a more premium feel.

      @@capidano6248 hello Capi. Thanks for the replies. Got my system transplanted to an H500 for almost a month now and yeah I can say it's a great case. I am now able to play Breakpoint at ultra settings and the gpu temp is great. I tried the top additional fans setting in the video but maybe because I have a smaller u9s cpu cooler, 1 additional top exhaust fan worked better. :)

    Hey JD, great review man, do you know if it is possible to mount another fan on the bottom if you remove the hard drive cage? Is there a way to get either a 120 140 or 200 mm fan in that spot? If not directly do you think its possible to put a fan there with only one or two screws. I am planning on mounting my 240 mm radiator in the front because I do not want to cut it so close with my ram and motherboard by mounting it on top. Idk but I was wondering your input. Thanks!

    QUESTION: Is that small exhaust fan on the back enough for those big 200mm intake fans on the front?. Should I buy two more fans to compensate?

    Great informative video! I have somes questions, I want to pair the H500 with A kraken X62. Since its a 280mm, the radiator could only be installed behind the two 200mm fans, but how should I install the two 140mm fans that comes with the X62 for optimal air flow? on top? on the radiator (pull)? or in any case, what other AIO water cooling solution would you recommend for this particular model? Thank you in advance.
