- Adina Porter has appeared in four seasons of American Horror Story, known for her roles as Beverly Hope in Cult and Dinah Stevens in Apocalypse. Ryan and Greg break down each of her AHS roles.
You may recognize Adina Porter from True Blood. She has appeared in four seasons of American Horror Story, and was nominated for a primetime Emmy for her role as Beverly Hope in AHS Cult. Adina made her AHS debut way back in Season 1’s Murder House, but she only popped up in a minor role. Here she played Sally Freeman, one of Ben Harmon’s patients that we see him working with in the Murder House.
Adina wouldn’t return to American Horror Story until five seasons later in a much bigger role. Here she played Lee Harris, a former cop that struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. A season later, Adina would return to play Beverly Hope in Cult, a performance that earned her an Emmy nomination. Beverly was an on-air journalist for WBNR Channel 7 news who would eventually get twisted into Kai Anderson’s clown cult.
In her most recent appearance in AHS Apocalypse, Adina played Dinah Stevens, a former actress turned talk show host that we meet at Outpost 3. In reality though, she’s actually the reigning Voodoo Queen since Marie Laveau was banished to Hell at the end of Season 3.

I remember on the night of the Roanoke premiere watching the episode and thinking for a second "wait a minute... WAIT A MINUTE THATS THE LADY FROM MH" I knew I was a real fan then, I still watch the show and rewatch it manyyyy times

I'm not sure if I really liked the characters that Adina played, but if I had to choose one that I felt any sympathy for, it would be Lee. Dinah was one of the AHS characters that I really didn't like and was happy to see her get what she deserved. I'm hoping that Mallory tells Cordelia what Dinah did so they can do that whole deal with Papa Legba to bring Marie back.

@Hello ASMR Not a Robot is right. If you watch the clip, they are showing footage of Angela Basset playing the character 'Lee' that Adina plays. Maybe for backstory reasons because there wasn't any footage of Adina (in character) for those scenes.
I have underestimated her performance in true blood, think I should rewatch that.

Talking about the character’s storyline, not just Adina. They both played Lee in that season.
Her best performance imo is Season 1 just cuz it’s so funny and she actually does such a good job at selling her lines. Lee was alright. I actually enjoyed Beverly Hope. I did not rlly like Dina Stevens that much.

Lee is one of my all-time favorite characters on any season of AHS. I think Adina plays that protective/vengeful mother role so well.

I loved her as Tara's mom in True Blood. Little known fact. The actress that played Tara auditioned for the role of Michonne in the walking dead. Although she lost it she did appear in an episode in season 9.

Absolutely love Adina Porter!!! She was amazing in Roanoke especially, which is my favorite season by far, and was also really great in Cult ( which I wasn't the hugest fan of, but her appearances were always welcomed)
I had to google it and no Adina is not realted to Billy they just look alike and share the same god given gifts!
