Foreigners Fighting ISIS in Syria: The War of Others

  • Denis Cuspert, aka Deso Dogg, is a German who joined the Islamic State. He's become a household name for many. However, in this war - in which Germany has been directly supplying weapons to the Peschmerga forces since the attacks on Paris and is more than indirectly involved with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and other Gulf states - hardly anyone is talking about the German civilians in northern Syria that are fighting terror militias.
While the German government sends its Tornado jets to Syria without a mandate under international law, we discovered German civilians, as well as other international volunteers fighting with and assisting Kurdish commandos. With AK-47s in hand, they are trying to halt the advance of the Islamic State and set up their own in its place. They’re trying to promote a societal model in which there’s no death penalty, men and women have equal right, freedom of religion exists. The far-left scene in Germany sees this as the most important leftist political project in the world and has therefore pledged its support.
VICE journalist, Sebastian Weiss, met up with a German ex-soldier and former Foreign Legionnaire, a 19-year-old Canadian fighter, a mother of four from Poland, an ICOR brigade member, German social workers and a 25-year-old from Saarbrücken, who are deployed under the command of the People’s Protection Units, directly on the front and only 50 kilometers from the IS stronghold, Raqqah.

I guess, she got depressed about being a mom of four nagging kids, changing diapers, brushing teeth and shit like that. Maybe she craved for "excitement", too stupid realizing war isn't a fucking joke. "We" westerns can't win a war like that. The solution must come from the region itself.

+Snedder: You're correct. These people need to forge their own future. I watched another video in which a Kurd lieutenant stated the following (paraphrased): "while we appreciate volunteers what we really need are weapons, supplies, ammunition." He is intelligent enough to know that once you get a slew of foreign troops in there, everything will go to shit and their revolution will be lost. They're willing and able to fight; they just need something to fight with. Yet the so-called first world and the UN and NATO just wants to talk. Sickening.

We are a multinational country fuckhead, were else in the world would peaceful human beings turn to. We do our part to police and protect . And what the fuck do you think I'm going to do knobbreath, not stand up for freedoms. Thats what my country has more than USA. Best damn country...period. If I had known that my harmless, simple statement would have me waste my fucken time on you it never would've happened. Furthermore, a great many people,58 thousand + and thousands dismembered and scarred for life. That does not make every man that sought refuge from it was a coward. And fuck you for your arrogance. You must be some of that Euro trash talking type I hear about. Yeah, we got your type here too, fishlips. We call em trailer trash. Fuck yeah, you'd fit right in. Oh, and one more thing, please stay the fuck outta my country because we don't live by you're morals and beliefs.

Guy is super passionate. he learned to speak kurdish so well! He seems 100% part of the Rojava revolution, ideologically, coming from a post left anarchist background he seems he was born to be a part of this. He isn't there only to kill daesh, although that is a big part of it. He is very confident in the cause and knows what he is doing is right. Very intereting, reminds me of the old Spanish republican volunteers of the Abraham Lincoln brigade back in the 30s

If your not prepared to die, stay home. War is more than just excitement, shooting a gun and hoping you can go home telling war stories. I would be happy to help as my background is war but seeing these young people going over is sad. The 55 year old German is probably the most experienced but you have to get some training in survival before you even think about wanting to be a hero. Only the dead ever see the end of war.

+Barmeester So what if she would have been from Belgium or France? Still not her fight? For all we know her country and her kids could be next...So I understand her motivation. You seriously still think its just their fight after decades smh.
