Brother, you have saved me a headache! I’ve had a turbo and hot side bought for about 2 years now and been scratching my head over it and this video pops up today. Thank you for sharing this.
Appreciate spending the time to go over the details of your build. What is the small control box that you have mounted on drivers side behind the radiator?
You’re a g man this is exactly the shit imma do, LS swapping my 89 d150 truck I’ll definitely keep you posted on how she goes and hopefully you could help me with questions if I have any🙏🍻
Hell yea bro thank u so much for the content. I have a 2001 gmc sierra 1500 just like ur old one. Im planning on turbo it. So im def taking ur suggestions and doing it like so as well. Because lets admit shit these days are expensive so im def doing it on a budget lol. How can i get ahold of u if need be bro
Thanx for taking the time to go into the details. I want to start building my 5.3 for my 91 s10 this summer and im thinking i want to do a turbo. Im a bit worried on the computer aspect of the build though.
Nothing to fear. What are you thinking about doing for that? Terminator x is amazing and super straight forward, or you can go cheaper and get truck harness and computer from a 99-06 Silverado
@@bo_flint93 I have 3 LS 5.3s with harnesses and comps with trannys all out of 4x4 silverados. I don't of course need the transfer cases, don't know if I can just dump case es and replace with regular 2wd tail shaft? But just don't know what route I should take with the computer setup? One ls will be for my s10, which needs a frame off restore after the flood of 2019. One will go into a ratty 70 c10 I have. The other in a z350. Thinking I will do the c10 first.
@@bo_flint93 so the terminator x is pretty easy to tune and to get fired up and running right off the bat? About how much does it cost? Does jegs or summit carry it?
If you don’t mind me asking! What size are your rear wheels and spacing? I have the same but went 10 inches and they come out a little more than I like!
ua-cam.com/video/TYUpSqUdklk/v-deo.htmlsi=9RlzUl96YF1isxGb Check out this video, it will walk you thru the process and why you need to do it. If you’re going speed density which I’m sure you are going to do since you are going turbo
It’s for intake air temp and it is needed depending on your build, tell me your build and what ecm you’re running and is it speed density, does it have a mass air flow? Depends on what you are building
i am still ordering parts for it but i have a 5.3 with btr cam on a stock ecm which was redone and single turbo 75mm and it is mass air flow @@bo_flint93
Ok so since you are still running mass airflow sensor the IAT sensor is built into that, but since you are planning on going turbo I would get rid of the mass airflow sensor but you will need to use 2 of the 5 wires coming off the end of you MAF plug and wire that to your IAT sensor, they’re $20 on Amazon and you put it into your charge pipe where mine is located. If u don’t have access to a welds I can buy piece of IC or intake pipe that already has the bung in it. Speed Density . It all just depends on what you wanna do with the truck and what you’re future plans are

Appreciate you taking time to get into the details, this will save me a bunch of money!
I like the in-depth video and you inspired me to turbo my beater 4.8 rado
Awesome man let me know if u need anything
I just picked up a 6.0/4L80 out of a wrecked box truck with low mileage for my 2000 single cab short bed Silverado. Currently has a 4.8 but need more.
Awesome
Man you made this some much simpler them I thought it was I’m definitely ordering parts now
Good to hear bro, it’s really simple when it is explained a certain way

@stevekrewson9502 good choice. And yes you can remove t case and replace output shaft and tail shaft cover and you are in there like swim wear lol
They both carry it and I think it is between $1200-$1600 but totally worth it if you have the $$$ to spend
Awesome video 😎!!!
Great video bro

Also if u still have some questions lmk or you can do a search just type the following into google or UA-cam: MAF turbo LS IAT
what is that igt sensor for is it needed?
