      +THE ORIGINAL: SADE DRUMMER Thanks for the uploads you sound like your shopping a script -- might be an interesting story. I doubt though you'll be allowed to publish anything negative about Sade -- however she is a famous person so perhaps someone will buy it. You were a part of one of the best rhythm sections ever put together. Sorry you feel as though you got screwed over but the core of the band's sound, aside from Sade's voice and vibe (at least in most folks' opinion), was Paul's Music Man bass and Stuartman's EVERTHING. I cannot recall one drum solo that really stood out; perhaps you feel Sade was holding you back there too. The two latter went on to form another successful band and numerous producing jobs with major artists. Come on bloke, stop crying in your beer -- since drummer's cannot invert chords and mainly are considered the band's timekeeper, they will NEVER get the credit that they truly deserve!

      Sade put false witness statements into court in 1997. You can be the judge of this here. Go to @youtube at 22:33 mins in here ua-cam.com/video/JB6e05KTXXA/v-deo.html and see Paul Anthony Cooke playing the song Sally at the Sade show in #Vienna 1983. This is complete derision of Paul Anthony Cooke at that time by the singer to discredit him in court and it continues today with statements presented to the media about his abilities and his performances at that time. What Sade Adu did'nt know was that Paul Anthony Cooke had commisioned a recording of his last show with the band on December 1983 so it rather contradicted her statement into court in 1997. ua-cam.com/video/JB6e05KTXXA/v-deo.html

    • @PaulCookeMusic
      @PaulCookeMusic 7 років тому +6

      Hi there, the basis of falling out with the singer was when she took the master recordings from RCA that had been paid for and sold them to CBS and did a solo deal. RCA thought they had signed the band original lineup and she walked out taking 60.000 advance and buggered off on holiday?? I was the only member that kicked off and that was that they all sacked me..the rest of the band accepted the decision.

    • @shopobjetdart
      @shopobjetdart 7 років тому +4

      Thank you for your candid reply. Placing myself in your shoes, I would view their business decision the same way you do. As a fan, I am grateful for your unsung contributions and for their continuation. And I am disappointed you all didn't stay together given the way things began. Hopefully, you have received some quiet restitution which is none of my business. I hope for your sake and because I do view the band in high esteem.

    • @SmartRobot-wc2fb
      @SmartRobot-wc2fb 6 років тому +1

      Lost Marbles We also have to see what was the actual contribution each potential member would add to the band...to me, personally, the core of Sade was always Helen, Stuart and Andrew..and after the Pride experience she hardly would put aside the idea of having a band with her own name on it...just think...you are young and being waved at with far better conditions by a then emerging powerhouse label, what would you do?!...They did the best option, which was also what suited most band members...As someone said: don't blame the players, blame the game!...

    • @PaulCookeMusic
      @PaulCookeMusic 6 років тому +5

      The issue I had was with the singer taking the Masters RCA paid for thinking they had the band signed. Her manager was being clever and played a fast one I think to get a better deal. She took a £60000 cheque from CBS records and signed the Masters over to them. The original Sade band really owned the masters but she thought otherwise. I objected and was sacked simple as that but I also did object to the producers change to all the original drum tracks so I was destined to be removed 🤔

    Thanks for Sharing, the Music and the History. Sorry, for your "troubles"........I have enjoyed Sade's Music through out the years and have considered her a musical genius. I do not wish any one bad or misfortune, I think, she has reaped what she has sown. Her personal life has been a train wreck, with Drug Addiction, Troubled Love Relationships and her Transgender Child. One might wonder if she made a deal with the devil or if it just came from her difficult broken family up bringing....... If that is the case, consider yourself lucky. We all have had cases in lives, if one thing had not happened or did happen, and wonder where we would be, and what might have been and feel cheated........ Hopefully, your life is good.
