Man, the people on this thread are proving everything that the media has accused them of the last days..... all the poison coming to the surface - you poor Brits
Trust me! That disgusting filthy and racism that was hidden beneath the surface is coming out full blast! It's embarrassing and I'm a black British born and bred. Thank you Great Britain for showing your true colours 👍🏾
@@starbwoy133 hehehe
@@loveydub the racism, prejudice and hatred is oozing out of alot of white British people right now. They've been given the green light to say exactly what they've been hiding all these years
@Raymondo Raymondo chill my friend.....white lives matter too! If you feel there's an anti white narrative then that on your own conscience my friend....blame your forefathers before you for their heinous crimes against those of a darker complexion. Stay blessed 👍🏾
@Raymondo Raymondo ha! You kidding?! Mate your white privilege card is perfect 👌🏾 I've always said if you're white and broke then you wasted it 😂 a white man in this country....in this WORLD should never be broke!
The London UCL Database lists Henry Lascelles 2nd Earl of Harewood awarded £26,307 in 1835 in compensation for loss of “his” slaves, equivalent to £3.5M today. On the Barbados plantations 90% of boys & girls surviving high infant and child mortality rates were working in field gangs by the age of 10; 60% by age seven (S. D. Smith University of York)
He's actually a very pleasent man wow what a surprise
What were you expecting and why?
@Raymondo Raymondo how fragile do you have to be to think someone saying "what were you expecting and why?" is "TrIgGeRed".
You should know it well ,James,as its only about an hour from your hugely expensive alma mater,Ampleforth.
Slavery as an industry was perpetuated in Africa long before the first Europeans set foot on the continent, hence Ghana's apology in 2006 and Benin's in 1999. In Nigeria however, the majority of tribal elders hold the view that the perpetrators of the crime own their own sins and they cannot be passed down from generation to generation. A present-day politician apologizing for events they had no part in has a hollow ring to it - who does it benefit? The energy that is expended on all this present-day hand-wringing would be better spent ending modern day slavery!
I don't get why he's asking for the government to apologise again. Tony Blair apologised for slavery in 2007. Is it something the government have to do on a regular basis?
Atleast the British are admitting our history unlike the Americans?
@Prince Talleyrand the issues of 2021 stem from the past. But I think you knew that though.
The British are American history. Then there was the Revolutionary War that gave white people independence. That war was led by a guy wearing his slave’s teeth.... yay?
@Prince Talleyrand the reason you have problems in 2021 is because you fail to admit what happened 200 year's ago!!
@@LotsofLisa No i don't think they do

To address some of the comments below, it is sad to see there is either: (1) little education on imperialistic powers and their history of human- rights/labor exploitation; (2) or, a series of unemphatic/uneducated remarks by viewers. Bellist theory is clear, "war made the state." With an eye towards Europe, more recently, there has been a public interest in the social impacts of war-lead indirect rule (i.e. colonization) and slavery. In this case, the United Kingdom's monarchy and elites (monarchy/parliament/business leaders/aristocracy/etc.) will have to "answer" for their forefathers. You might ask, why should they?
The answer: generations of people were subject to labor right abuses that impacted their social stratification, whilst the despotic rulers/elite who committed those labor right abuses today were succesful, and in fact became administers of the state - charged with extracting taxes from civil society for roads, bridges, schools, public health, etc. Civil society deserves to probe the morality of rulers/elite who have treated other humans to labor-right abuses or uncivil indirect rule. If at the very least, the probing will ensure these rulers/elite understand they are accountable to civil society, to ensure morality is a metric of administers (monarchy/parliament/business leaders/aristocracy/etc.) of the state. Therefore, I champion what David Harewood is doing; that is to say, "David is holding elites to task", to ensure they administer the state with morality, and that is something we ALL should be proud of (and support, if you ask me)!
Well said it’s not worth engaging with some of the people who have commented on here they are showing there inner rottenness
Never seen any other race with such a sense of woe is us or thinking we owe them something, always after something for nothing
And THAT is why I say to these deniers of British racism: YOU don't get to "tolerate" ME in the house the blood of my ancestors built. Everything here is mine because my blood paid for it. YOU are the guests in MY parents home. Show me a corner of this country where the money of enslaved people didn't touch? All mine.

They were British, with British passports. If the wealth generated in the Colonies benefited the Colonies as much it did Britain, they wouldn’t have needed to come when invited. And Britain would have had to pay the working class properly to rebuild the country after the war.
@@Anigmama There was plenty of people to rebuild Britain after the war, it was just an excuse to bring in foreigners, and few working people wanted them here, they still don’t.
