Afterthought: when the prediction card by coincidence is before the mate and you take ‘em out, you miss a card in the counting. What you can do, is upjogging some cards, if as you’re are thinking what card you will take, take one of the outjogged card out, a card further in the deck, laying on the table, retake and switch ‘em for the also outjogged prediction, which will be your decision.
AWESOME trick! But I think there's a possibility the trick might not work: let's say your top card is a red seven and your 7th card from the bottom is also a red seven - you will no longer have the top card to turn over and reveal the count - it has become the predicted card. This just happened to me :)
Yes, that's right, it won't work in that instance. Also, if the prediction card is amongst the cards to be dealt off. In these situations can you give the deck a quick cut during the process of looking for a card, or even ask the spectator to reshuffle as you're struggling to picture a card. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

there may be times where the mate of the card is below the chosen card. You may want to reshuffle???
Yes, in that situation you can reshuffle, all in the act of trying to build a better connection with the cards. Thanks for highlighting!

Court cards are 10 yes..? What about aces
You can count them as 10, or it also works counting Jacks as 11, Queens as 12 and Kings as 13. Aces can be counted as 1. Thanks for watching!
