Do your opinions differ from mine? I'm genuinely curious on how people feel about this, let me know. Edit: Here are some of the things I left out of the video, or forgot to touch on. Running with other players! I recommend following someone or running with them, because it really tests your ability to use the mechanics on the spot, and shows if you really are only good at the same routes, or if you are capable of being good even while improvising. I wanna touch on this a little, I touched on it a little in the video but, everyone is good in their own way. I have a lot of respect for time trial players, leaderboard players, all of them. They are good in their own way, but I am really trying to help people get good at the main game mechanics with this. BUT LET ME SAY, if what you enjoy doing is something other than the main game mechanics, and you want to get really good at it, go for it! Like I said it is still very impressive, just not the point of this video.
Honestly when i dont grind i loose a purpose of playing the game. I try to get better at everything and i mean that . But i always have to grind or else i just stop playing the game.
@@eastyn5172 That's fine, the main point of playing is to have fun. Keep doing what you enjoy, but there are types of grinding that will help you, such as grinding specific moves that you feel you are lacking in.
what you said about leader boards i highly agree bro ive spent like MONTHS trying to maintain my #1 in the past for global rating and tbh it didnt make me a better player at all, i wish i would have noticed that earlier too
The whole " only getting better at specific routes " thing inspired me, also made me realise that the better I get at SLJ, and doing SLJ, and WCB/wall-boost together ( you know what I mean ), the better I can travel and know the map better. Also, I wanna say, when I got onto Parkour after watching this video, I went/ran way(s) I never thought about before. I am level 41 now because of that! *I was level 30 or something when I logged onto Parkour* Thank you hwlq, you are an inspiration! Also, I played Parkour for the first time about 2 1/2 weeks ago, I haven't stopped playing since. Apologies if some of this didn't make sense and/or if it is a bit scrambled, I have gone a *bit* crazy over quarantine. Again, hwlq, you're an inspiration, and my idol!
The thing about being good at Parkour, is that it can mean so many different things to so many different people. You can be considered “good” if you get insanely low wallboost speeds, if you are fast in time trials, or you can do long ledge grab gaps easily. The one thing that links all of these “good” attributes is consistency. Those people with low ms are consistent at being able to scale higher buildings. The people who are good at time trials are consistent in getting good times. The ledge grabbers are consistent at ledge grabbing, and so on. The key, in my opinion, to being considered “good” at parkour, is to be consistent at a specific skill. If you’re good at wallboosting, get consistent with it. Practice ledge grabbing, or work on that time trial to get a better score. Maybe even get consistent at combos to grind the points needed to level up. Get consistent at one skill, and often it opens the door to another. When you’re consistent at everything in Parkour, then you’re truly Elite. You can still be good at the game even if not practically. If you have been part of the community for a long time and have an amazing general knowledge of the functionality and mechanics of the game, and are able to push the limits of what you’re able to do, like the grappler cancel mechanic, or upwards wallrunning, infinite SLJ, etc., I would still consider you “good”. There are so many ways to play the game, and for that reason there are so many ways to be good. I don’t give a shit if you’re level 35, but if you have 300 hours in Parkour dedicated to Trading Skins and Bags, I would still consider you “good”, as like I said before, you’re consistent at it. Consistency is the key to Parkour, and the more you practice, the more consistent you become. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk. AdamBomb out.
Yeah, I agree, everybody can be good in their own way, I was really trying to help people improve their overall skill with this, because in my opinion focusing on one thing will halt your performance with other things. And although unspoken, I believe by following my advice and trying everything and trying new things, you will find something you excel at, or something you want to be good at in particular.

Hello! First of all, it was too satisfying to see all the free run you were doing was incredible, then the important thing is that everything you said makes sense and you are absolutely right you have to always cheer yourself up to feel more secure or there is no need to try. This video helped me a lot with the theme of improvising a tour and following others to prove myself. So always try to be better at something. Excellent video.
I had a rival till lvl 60 than one day he just went offline... Damn the good times when we were flexing on each other getting 100 ms (lol) and who could get a higher combo or do advanced quicker. He is one of the main reasons im lvl 120 and have 73 average ms

Now I just put on some music and vibe, not paying much attention to the game. Really feels like I'm not getting better.
My friend covered 3/4 the map with me, he was there when I needed him, but at Lv 87 he left me in the dust, quit the game and Ended up making me have bad thoughts of the game, so I really can’t get good at the game, thinking that when I’m crossing the map, there isn’t my Best friend there with me, guiding me to become better. I ain't gonna lie, as me being a laptop parkour player I can barely even do a wall boost but in the advanced tutorial I can atleast get through the first part
Honestly as a brand new player, this video helps alot. Not only is it inspiring but, it reminds you to have fun in the game. I got into doing the same combo route over and over. The highest level combo i got was only 4. Its completely frustrating, but I realized over about a week, of playing for hours I wasn't having fun at all. So I explored the map more. I found that was more fun because it has new surprises in places you don't go as often. When your stuck on the same short combo loop its exhausting. And about the stats and points thing, I agree. I ended up grinding so much that I was at the top of the player list in small servers. It honestly felt like people ignored me more because OF the levels. So, I'll take what you say into consideration the next time I play this. Thanks for the extra help hwlq! Also I know I'm 2 years late to this video, but this is timeless.

Good video, I agree with all of them. Maybe adding on combos and trying to do combos with more difficult mechanics within the combo this has helped me a decent amount when I was learning. R0BL0XRunner.j
Thanks for motivation to actually improve myself. I always focused on my average ms and raged when I had 80 but now I think way different because of this video, I also always wasted my time on getting levels because I wanted to get level 250 and I am level 209 or something. I agree with the lvl part you get better and as you progress you also lvl up but that shouldn't be your main goal
Bruh that helped a lot i go this same route over an over and over and its not fun when i try different routes i fail badly so i go back to same route that i am good at so i dont feel bad for myself, another thing i kept going for levels and i finally understood that i need to work on my skill not my lvl,tbh this video is extremely good now i try different stuff challenge myself aot and i see my self improving great content as allways
my rival is my best friend, his name is logan and we’re pretty much on the same level of skill. we’re getting better every time we play so that’s cool.
how to get good in the game:
me: *friend* is my best opinion.
I grinded to 150 lvl for duality in the same route and you were right, just a number, a week ago I started running around the map without any route and just running around. It made me better and better from 150ms to 129ms it's dropping to "nice" and 50ms, but it doesn't matter. Your tips are really useful and its the truth, I enjoy the video. REEEEEE
(Oh yeah I also have a component Vanguard, trying to catch up with her, not on lvls, on skills.)
Hwlq. I would appreciate you posting a video about your settings .
I agree wirh you when u said "grinding for levels is useless" but at still you need good glove to perform better wallboosts.
I have a question should I buy power grip? Also nice video
Me: did a fall cancel for the 1st time and spam "im better than hwlq"
Hwlq join the
Hwlq:wdym you better than me
Me:i did fall cancel
Hwlq:ez i can do it with my eyes close
Me:...
LOL
ah yes i love when Hwlq joins the its just epic
All I can say is...thank you. I have been focusing my ms the past few days getting into the 60-70ms range now that I got it I will start running dif routes
Hey bro can u do new update to the game update would me u van play this game on xbox in roblox please i want play this game
Hwlq: level doesnt matter, just numbers.
Me: How about getting mag rail??
You made me feel confident now at the game thanks ^_________^
@hqwl Can you review the new update and show us some hard tricks with Paraglider please OwO bye
i might do that
@@hwlqq can u please help me with ledge grabbing i am trying to do corner to corner without touching tur ground and I can't do it
i'm like a year late but thanks lol, was getting to a point, 400 hours into the game, where i felt like i just wasnt improving
what was said in this video is true, and i realize now i've just been doing the same shit over and over again for over 200 hours now
cheers, hope to get a bit better, no matter now long it takes, or how subtle
also just an question what gear were you using in this video?
I was grinding levels now im not. now im practicing my skills. thanks for the help
Hwlq: “you can get by with 50-90 ms to clear almost any gap.” Me with 180 ms: REEE I CANT DO NOTHING
You are crying about 180 MS I have 279
(I dont know how much I have now I havent checked)
my ms is slowy going down, rn my avg is 120-140
i just recently got into Roblox Parkour, its a pretty nice game in my opinion
hwlq: Don't grind levels it's *pointless*
Me: what about gloves
Jotaro dog
you should grind for levels cause you get new gloves for it...
Good video, I agree with all of them. Maybe adding on combos and trying to do combos with more difficult mechanics within the combo this has helped me a decent amount when I was learning. R0BL0XRunner.j
This Is Very Helpful. Thank You
Him: Saying we need to do different routes
Also his background footage:
Thanks for motivation to actually improve myself. I always focused on my average ms and raged when I had 80 but now I think way different because of this video, I also always wasted my time on getting levels because I wanted to get level 250 and I am level 209 or something. I always took the same routes but now I wont. This video has shown me how to actually get better instead of sitting at the "I'll never get better than this."
Grinding levels is important because of the gloves, without them you, for example, your wcb is short.
gloves don't make you better so they are not important
I know that im super super late but getting a friend rival really helps i recomend that also that tips work its rare for me to comment but this tips and tricks is super useful thanks
it is worth it that the pros make fun of the noobs but the noobs are learning until they become more conducive xd well the video I liked
What I do is actually when I learn a new thing and get used to it I learn something else and I do it over and over again.
Oml oml oml thank u so muxh this rly helped me and i just wannas ay my thanks
Actually grinding for levels will somewhat make you better because when you are a high enough level you get better gloves.
gloves don't make you better, they make the game feel easier so grinding for them will not help you in any way
Thanks, now I wont be grinding as much as I used to. Your actually the one who inspired me to play Parkour. So thanks for being a good youtuber,
hwlq: talks Talks about tips and tricks and how to get better
me: thank you therapist
Him : talking about going different routes and not going same path . Also him: taking the same path
thanks,it really helped me,i dont know why i didnt watch this earlier...
Thx for the tips, you da best
I thought I was taking the same route again but I found a new spawn that I didn’t know existed and now I have all spawns
I have gotten to all spawns/sites other than Northern, once I get Custom Glove, I am going to *NONSTOP* try to find/get to it, no watching tutorials, I am going to find/get to it, most likely to be the same way I found Downtown, AKA the first spawn/site I found/got to, on accident. I will just go to the North sign and *HARDKORE PARKOUR* my way around.
I remember when i tought a friend how to play the game and now he is even better then me.
Could you upload more? I enjoy your content
I dont really care about my skill. I cannot even long jump and ive been playing so much parkour. I just care about having FUN, and parkour its a game that, in my opinion, is difficult but you can perfectly enjoy without that much skill.
I just wanna know how fast you can fall until you cant do SLJ and wall kick anymore
This has been bothering me for a long time
it's more about how far you can fall, I don't think about the speed, it really is just muscle memory
@@hwlqq thanks :D
