My Redcat Shredder is shipping out today!!!! I cannot wait to get it after watching this video. I have only 1 Redcat product right now, Gen 8 Crawler running it on 3s. Some upgraded beadlock alloy wheels and a light kit with roof rack. I hope I like the Shredder as much! Great video!

I did some upgrades on my Kaiju like fans on the motor, bearings on the outside of the drive cups, reinforced the front bumper, installed a metal spur to take the 6s power, reinforced the body, etc. It's a great truck for $399

I have many rc from 1/5 to1/18 including the xmaxx..and of all my cars the shredder is my 2nd favorite right behind the xmaxx. It is a absolute beast for $359!! You cant go wrong..its the best deal out there hands down! Not a redcat fan..but the shredder is unbeatable at the quality, durability and price point. It's only 4s but it's a lot of fun and pretty quick..35mph out of the box.It's a poor man's xmaxx..lol get one you won't be disappointed. Order some bs503-009 upper control arms..they are the weak point on the shredder. Happy bashing!
I'm definitely getting one then cuz i have an xmaxx...and now all my other rcs are boring compared to it..

@@LiquidXiron I don't have a corally rc but I know kronos is about $550 and it's 1/8th scale The shredder is almost half the price and much larger at 1/6 scale. I am not a redcat fan at all.. but the shredder is a exception! It is truly a steal of a deal at $359!
If you spend a little and upgrade the wheels put on a metal spur gear and new steering servo the shredder is a tank! It is totally 6s capable, the chassis and motor will handle it if you throw a 6s esc on it! I have bashed mine hard and really haven't had many issues with it. It jumps with the best of them.. it's really a good rc and I would recommend it to you. It all comes down to personal preference, budget ect. Which ever one you pick enjoy and happy bashing!!
What servo did you opt for in the Shredder? In the market for a large scale upgrade for the Mojave.....

Well I don’t own the Kaiju. That’s my buddy Jody’s. He loves it. I think he broke a diff cup early on, but I can’t remember. I know he’s broken the wheelie bar mount, but he thrashes that thing. They’re tough!
That kiaju is tucking the body like that because the frame is bending in the center on impacts my x maxx did that too till I added a aluminum top support after I broke a chassis
Or when it went sideways into a tree. Haha.
Hey my shredder has been going low voltage lately too was it thermal cutoff like you said? Or is that unconfirmed?
Unconfirmed but I think it was thermal. When I changed the batteries everything was hot. I was hammering on it before we stared filming. Haha.
@@10thScaleGarage I took my shredder to my local hobby shop today and they seem to think there's water damage to the receiver which makes sense because I submerged it at the track a couple weeks ago and that's when my problem started. I'm so new to this stuff I tend to take their word on everything, they've been right with all my other vehicles so far. Maybe look into that if it keeps happening. I haven't bought a new one yet because omgrc just made me impulse buy one of those 1/24 carisma inprezas they just uploaded lol.

Awesome video! I've had both trucks since the beginning of the year and I definitely love them the Kaiju is much stronger and tougher but I find myself driving the shredder more. Only problem was I went through nine diffs in seven months I didn't want to do the armma thing so I locked my center diff with JB weld as well as the rear and I just took the front diff out now I have two wheel drive posi and it is a blast at least I'm not going broke with the differential replacements anymore LOL. Can you tell me if the steering servo saver bell crank is adjustable mine seems loose and I'm not sure if it is or if it's one that's not I'm pretty sure it's not but figured I would ask thank you!
I only went through one center diff on mine. I packed it with waterproof grease and it’s been great ever since. Not sure about adjusting the servo saver though....

I was thinking about buying a shredder but it's differential issues got me nervous.
I just used heavy marine grease in the center diff and haven’t had any issues. I’m extremely hard on my shredder (see the pool jump video) and the only thing I’ve really broken is the front bumper and steering servo. Both are easily replaceable. That’s just my experience.
Actually there is one upgrade on my Kaiju I forgot about. The drive cup reinforcement sleeves from Extreme RC Precision.
It's stock other than that. Lol

The electronics in the Kaiju are def superior, but man that shredder is extremely long.

Wish I would have gotten the shred instead. Ik it's slower, the easy access and oversized components would be a dream. Kaiju def. has a lot going on in a small space. Hsrderr to work on. Plus the shred is just massive lol

Is the kaijus engine brushless or no ? How fast do u think it would go on 6s brushless
Yes, it’s brushless. It’s super hard to drive fast on 6S but if you can keep it planted, you’ll do 60+mph.

Watch out for those moving trees. They always jump in the way 🤣. I have two KAIJUs and love them. Probably the Kaiju won. Even on 4s it's a complete MONSTER. On 6s it's insane. Yeah the Kaiju needs the fans and heatsink from powerhobby 1/8. The motor gets too hot.
And the wheels are sick.

What would you guys recommend for a starter electric car? Probably a off Road type to fling round the park and almost certainly break it.

I bought the wltoys 144001. Broke it already. Kinda knew that would happen but it was fun (if slow) while it worked.
Thinking of getting one of these.. I have a typhon 3s v5,do u think the shredder could keep up with it speed wise?
My shredder does about 40 mph over rough terrain.

Kaiju or granite? I know kaiju is bigger but I don't think I'll be using 6s
Ohhhhh, good question. Granite has slightly better parts support, but Kaiju is way more fun to drive.
@@10thScaleGarage I'm more interested in what's the most reliable since I suck at fixing things. I currently have a few brushless traxxas which are mostly ok but I only run them on 2s. I know once you go 3or 4s things break quickly
The arrma granite arms are made of glass, and the shocks will almost certainly leak oil. Both of those are easy fixes. RPM makes arms for the granite that makes them virtually billet-proof. Jody beats the snot out of his, and it handles it just fine. He only drives it on 4S though.
I really wish I had got a kaiju instead of the landside now. They really need to take the landside, lower than motor and brace it. Make it a true lcg stable basher now that the kaiju is the wheelie stunt king.

U definitely got to upgrade electronics in that shredcatt that system 4s is garbage that big shredder should run on 8s at least,that little blue truck 6s and half the size

I know it was only running 4s but the kaiju just doesn't seem worth it compared to the shredder to me. My opinion might be bias because I have a shredder but for the money they seem pretty comparable.
On 4S the shredder is faster. Kaiju goes better wheelies and backflips effortlessly. It miiiight be a bit stronger but they both took an absolute pounding that day.

@@10thScaleGarage Comparing Parts, Electronics, Price for what you get. What do they share, what they don't type of thing. Not just running. The BSD has a 120amp ESC and the Shredder only a 80amp. So there is one Difference.
@@10thScaleGarage Checked some of my Other screws on the Pirates2 9116. The ones on the bottom going into Plastic were all Loose. Took them out and they all were only like 3-4 threads holding them in (too Short). So Added Super Glue. The Nut for the steering was still there but lost the screw. Had Plenty of screws and added Super Glue to it even tho it was a Nylon Lock Nut.
@@ravenlorans for fasteners on anything, rule of thumb is it's fine if it's threaded in as deep as the fastener is wide.
