You guys got pretty close considering the loss of footage in the edgings. Even though the odor of the wood was bad, the oak log yielded some beautiful boards. Thanks for another great sawing video.

As for your painting oak, cut your design, then sand and debur it. Then give it a couple coats of shellac before painting. If it still bleeds, try with prestain sealer, then shellac. Or shellac, coat or 2 of lacquer, then shellac again. Shellac sticks to everything and is a great pre coating or sealer. Laquer flashes quick, so it fills voids, but lacquer alone is not as it dissolves previous layers before curing, thus it won’t seal itself.

Alternatively insert the screws from the support board and do not allow them to exit the surface/face of the plaque. Again using the screws to level the "Boom" plaque for detailing and working.
Again, another alternative is to screw it into a frame or box and put the entire thing through processing. You being a wood worker and me being a an old Marine and cop, I think you can probably think of a lot more ways to do it than I could, if you put your mind to it.

Not many steps more for throttle action when needed just slide everything out of the way

      Dear Peter Williams
👍👌👏 It's definitely also way too loud. I would rather like to hear the edger blades cutting.
Best regards, luck and health in particular.

I do not recognize the wood. Not black oak, I don't think. Could it be an old ash log? Maybe so,, I'll vote ash

that's how I do it but open grain will still take in paint , I found that sanding it down to 180 grit before sealing it helps .
