i met vinnie on that tour.. i watched him pull the bouncers and road crew away from hearding all us fans out . he said something to a security guy and all the sudden they just said line up againnst the bus... and The VINNIE sat in the bus drivers seat and talked to every single fan! He and his wife were to date the nicest rock stars I have ever met. so in 35 years of shows and meetings he is the top rock star to meet.( sure wish i could have met DIO )
I am so happy I discovered full in bloom on UA-cam just four months ago almost I love it it’s just fantastic I love getting stoned and pigging out on jersey Mike’s subs and getting full in tune with full in bloom 🌺
I remember being 16 and the Nelson Twins was like the biggest new act, and an article in Circus or Hit Parader asked them if they were metal or not. They answered well we have Bobby Rock in the band from VV Invasion. I actually saw Bobby live with Nelson opening for Cinderella with Lynch Mob 3'rd on the bill. He actually did a drum solo and Fred Courey did one in the middle of the Cinderella show aftereards. I don't even know why Fred bothered because he was purely an average drummer while Bobby is like an elite drummer.
@@ThomasLiberoRock Bobby should be better known. People worship many drummers worse than him. Bobby truly works hard. Always has been. He even workouts and eats healthy vegan food to stay in shape.
Long Live Bobby Rock. The VVI first album was the fastest selling album in Chrysalis history at the time (told to me by a very close friend who was in the business of selling records within the industry). Monster Album / Killer Songs / Phenomenal Recording. Personally, I feel Vinnie brought serious credibility back to the Kiss Camp. Creatures and LIU are the heaviest / dirtiest / most In Your Face albums they ever did. All because of Vinnie. Great Interview as always!!!
Invasion might've been much much bigger. Vinnie was a great songwriter plus he had impressive guitar chops. If only Vinnie had sorted himself out... They could've pulled it off and become one of the famous 80s glam metal bands.
I applied for the all girl road crew. 🙂 the band and crew were all good people. I still have letters Mark sent me... Sadly they broke up. I'm still friends with the road manager Rikk.
Very interesting, thank you. Discovering the joys of tuning drums with my son - a drummer who's learning to record, and going for as little damping as possible. You can EQ stuff out. Much harder to put it back.
I'm not familiar with the Vinnie Vincent albums, not really aware of who Bobby Rock is- but man, I find these interviews riveting! Very thankful for this resource.
@@netrioter Bobby didn't move on to Slaughter, that would be Blas Elias, I've been looking for an interview with Bobby explaining why he didn't get or take that gig.
Do you all think V.V. did drugs or not as in Cocaine? It blows me away the Bobby says he never witnessed it ever not even one time with V.V his videos just scream cocaine to me.
In a long Q&A Vinnie mentioned he had had experience with drugs. I think he might've been addicted. He disappeared for a long time, today he refers as "very dark days" to those years. He was also talking about common quarrels with his girlfriend and how broke he was at that time. To me it looks like a coke addiction. You can watch that Q&A on YT and think for yourself.
@@dominikaksiazek7177 how could he afford a coke addiction? lol you two are just spinning because it doesn’t reflect the rock and roll mythology. vinnie was just slim. Im the same way.
I had a friend, RIP, who shall remain nameless, who was in a band with Strum - years before all this - and told me a few anecdotes that when I watch Strum in interviews……..I see & understand what my friend said bout him. I couldn’t sit in the same room as Mrs Cusano & Dana Strum
Some of his solos were just a bunch of notes played as fast, as he could. Nevertheless, his rhytm playing was cool in my opinion, I remember many great riffs. Have you ever listened to Invasion's All Systems Go?
There is only 4 albums I have put on every single mp3 player I've ever owned and this is one of them.
This guy is up there with a mangini or donati, absolute technical
Monster
Bobby seems like a really nice, smart, humble guy... plus an amazing musician

Interesting. I'm glad you had a positive experience. Many people think he's an asshole and hard to work with.
Rock sounded great on Helmerich Garshed

I think Bobby could and should have a bigger career, a real talent and hard working musician !
Nah, Fred's a way above average great drummer actually, but Bobby's just legendary
@@justhadrums Fred isn't bad, but his solos aren't very exciting. Overall Bobby's much better, he's really underrated.

The REAL Spinal Tap!
I seen Bobby rock with Nelson

A great interview. I took a lot away with me on this set of interviews with Bobby Rock. Thank you.

I love both albums.
Anybody have have the Bobby Rock signature drumsticks ,l did and they were damn heavy .

I have a question. Did Vinny wear the pink high heels in the studio?
I loved the record but the makeup hair nonsense was BS music speaks for itself
The album is okay but it sounded rushed. It did. Like a fast food hamburger.
Now Vinny is Mrs. Vincent Cussano , check her out
You sound jealous
He refers to himself as a male. And his name is Vinnie, not Vinny. These "Mrs. Cusano" jokes weren't funny even 3 years ago.
sounds like you are projecting. it's ok to come out. you don't have to pretend anymore.
This project for some reason got a lot of attention. People were intrigued but when they finally heard it, it fell flat, sounded rushed and off.
I like the first album quite a bit.
"This project for some reason got a lot of attention."
perhaps vinnie having just left kiss had something to do with it.
I saw that band open for Alice..... and they were AWFUL. Vinnie played one of the worst guitar solos ive ever heard

Acquired taste, I personally love the VVI records
