I disagree in some part about the idea that the 'media' is what is feeding people the idea of what beautiful is.
No. There are people that feel like me where it isn't 'outside forces' that tell us what looks good. We already know this ourselves.
I look in the mirror and I know what I would prefer. If I'm attracted to someone? I know why I'm attracted to that person.
The problem is you would have to almost lie to yourself if you want to believe ideas like this and this just ISN'T possible.
And there are other cultures that are more accepting of body transformations that use certain devices to achieve a certain look/body shape.
Again, I don't wake up and think, "Gosh, if I never compared myself to that model, I wouldn't feel so bad right now.". I would love for someone to tell me otherwise, but I would have to believe the other person is lying to some extent if they pretended attraction did not affect their decisions in life and that it got you more of what is wanted.

Good talk but I really expected her to talk about more than physical appearances when it came to vanity.

What's wrong with trying to look pretty..all women should diet...and try to be a nice pretty small size..men aren't keen.on large women.
