I don’t know if that was Jericho slowing it down to teach Hook wrestling basics or is Jericho just getting old… I wouldn’t say it was “sloppy”… but it definitely felt slow and telegraphed… but that’s just my opinion and I could definitely be wrong.

Likely a mix of both, before the shoulder block you can see Jericho telling Hook he’s coming in with the shoulder.
Another factor is a lot of it was likely called on the fly and they both work at different paces. That belly to belly overhead was nasty though.
I feel so sad to see how slow he's gotten. I loved his work then until now but just wow, he fell so far

But I’ll tell ya this for free-Jericho has aged better than 95% of the population, I’d say… & he’s likely on TRT as well, so he looks a hell of a lot better than a man his age (& with his injuries) has any reason looking!

@@johannesmakila2459 Putting someone over is not as simple as just "Veteran lose to new guy"... Everyone beats Jericho. Hook, Sammy, Starks, Hobbs, and remember Andretti? There's no feud, there's barely any character and the matches are boring. How do you get elevated by beating someone that everyone beat? And what wrestler got over because of Jericho from 2019 until today?

I really liked the emphasis on the throwing style from Hook, because it adds to his tactical personality and psychology in a match where a young fighter tests the strength of the bones of his veteran opponent. As a result, it becomes more interesting to follow such a story, which consists in demonstrating a new generation.
While this is a nice victory for HOOKs career Chris was notably very slow in this match..as people said I don't know if it was age or he was slowing down so that HOOK could keep up because HOOK is still very new to all of this.. that belly to belly nearly on his face showed that. I understand seeing the potential in HOOK..he's got a very bright future..I just hope that they don't rush him into a spot that he's not ready for...because fans will turn on him..he deserves the star treatment but he's gotta get those reps in.

Hook was chucking around Jericho like a sack of potatoes . Reminded me of when Taz faced Jericho in ECW back in '96 and Taz damn near took out Jericho with suplex after suplex . Except where Taz choked out Jericho Hook pinned him . Give Hook a few more years and he'll be damn near unbeatable . Wanna see him have that same killer instinct and no remorse attitude that Taz had back in the day .
