I rode the L train as a kid. I always took it to union square to transfer to the 4 5 and 6 to grand central for my junior elementary school, and to bleecker street for junior fitness practice. After junior elementary, I took the L to 8th ave to transfer to the A C and E to 23rd street or penn station for my senior school until I moved to NJ in 2008. By then, they were still introducing the R160's. Too bad the L got Alstom ones, like the one in the beginning. Long live the R42 L train. The R143 is still a nice train though.
