@@m_js5709 both. Mother's maiden name is O'Shea. Shirk is my actual last name. Never liked it and always thought of changing it because she missed the mark on a lifelong lame joke for me.
I haven't listened to Darkest Hour in so long, not since their golden era of Deliver Us, Undoing Ruin and Hidden Hands of a Sadist Nation. Those 3 albums were metalcore masterpieces, especially Deliver Us. Kris Norris, when he was doing lead guitar for them, wrote some of the craziest solos I've ever heard even to this day, ESPECIALLY on Deliver Us. That whole album doesn't have a single skippable track. So color me stoked as hell that John Henry is actually back in the band now and his vocals sounds exactly the same as they did all those years ago. I'll always miss Kris, but getting John back is a huge win as the band never sounded the same without him. He has such a unique voice, you instantly know it's him and his style fit perfectly with Darkest Hour.
Then gelotte suddenly became a contributing guitar composer ... And played a big role in influencing the sound of in flames and changed it sooooooo much, for better or worst ? It's not my position to judge, but i don't like what they're doing now (since colony).
This was awesome, both the cover and the info around how you put this all together. Thank you so much. Really freaking awesome and such a great track to cover.
Obviously these guys all hold In Flames' old work in high regard but I wonder what they think of what IF has become since then? I don't see a lot of bands rushing to cover anything past Reroute to Remain. Just curious from a technical standpoint do they think "what the hell happened?" like a lot of people do. I will always love In Flames new and old, as well as every band involved in this project.
Would kill to hear the whole album covered by this cast of metal heroes
Wohoo, this world needs more In Flames covers, especially when so many cool musicians do it!
Man, I miss this era of In Flames so much.
Is your username a Ricochet reference or actually your name lolol just wondering. Also hell yes the first 5 In Flames albums will forever rock!

@@Defleshuary lolol that's pretty dope even still man!
Yeah they wrote some amazing stuff back then. No need to miss it though! Pop in the CD and have a listen any time! \m/
@@mcgarnacle21 I miss them writing like that more so. I still rock their early stuff.
This is definitely one of the best In Flames songs
It’s been so long, that I‘ve listened to Darkest Hour, that I forgot how good John Henry is...
Have a listen to their latest album, he's savage on it.
@@chondrinenigma all members are slaying it on their latest album. It's highly underrated, so many great songs and tons of energy
Not only is this good content, it's healthy for musicians to be active during this time.
Much love from Michigan
John Henry FTW!

Jesper Stromblad had riffs he never knew how he'd influence millions of guitarists worldwide
