Aaron discussing his departure/spiritual crisis is important to make note of for Christians and church leaders. The idea of celebrity and the amount of influence given to young men and women that want to make music is an issue. They are artists, not theologians. They didn't really bring these things up in the video but Spencer should have gotten help from the church- he's a human being, and sin can take you just as easily when you have a platform. Aaron should recognize that you can fight the church from within the church (that's the story of most of the bible- Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jesus were all persecuted by the church). But no one will hear this message when the bigger headline is "Musicians Turn Back On Religion - It Was All Fake". It's such a muddy area with Christians and our music. But there needs to be a clear dividing line between good music and spiritual truth. If scripture alone isn't your highest authority then you can be (Eph 4:14) blown around by anything- a preacher, a politician, an actor, or a young musician that just wants to make a great album.
I hope u can understand Spanish jaja
@@davec.9894 I translated it on google jaja- Aaron and Spencer have said they are no longer christians, so I think they no longer feel the need to censor themselves. And I agree, Christians can make whatever music they like, not necessarily "worship" music. And traditional "worship" music isn't the only music that glorifies God. But when a young artist starts out making music about God and then turns away, other people should not have their faith shaken. It's sad to see someone go, and maybe they'll come back, but artists make their art from right where they are. It's good if it stirs your affections for God, but it's not something you shape your life around- only scripture should be used that way. Even Grant says around 2:59:00 that even in the band's breakup, the band isn't your life, you shouldn't be defined by it, even though breakups hurt and there's plenty of emotion.
Who the fuck cares how they sound with or without a particular member? This album is awesome (imo their best) and the absence of a particular person has no bearance on the quality

Still hoping for a vinyl re-release!
@@davec.9894 I translated it on google jaja-
Aaron and Spencer have said they are no longer christians, so I think they no longer feel the need to censor themselves.
If scripture alone isn't your highest authority, you can be blown away by anything. I like the way you put that statement.
My friend got mad at me cuz I loved this album. “It’s not Underoath without Aaron dude. They don’t even sound the same”
Who the fuck cares how they sound with or without a particular member? This album is awesome (imo their best) and the absence of a particular person has no bearance on the quality
