      @@_phong.huynh_ I would watch videos of tips for learning Japanese and almost all of them say not to learn from anime or manga because the stutters and slang can be confusing but anime and manga have been one of the only reasons I understand what I'm learning. And since I cant practice of real people I can try identifying when to use certain words because of anime and dramas. It's really helped me with learning and I haven't even been at it that long.

    This is very useful, I wish the phrases stayed in the screen a bit longer., and that there were kanji + furigana instead of only kana.

      Change settings: x.75 or x.50 until you feel comfortable going at faster speed(x1). That's what I do.

    Step 1: watch with subtitles
    Step 2: listen to the audio only
    (while laying in bed to sleep is a great time)
    works for this video, movies, anime, you name it.
    Make your brain do the work for you!

    The part where they were saying goodbye or hope to see you again made me tear up a bit. Because it reminded me of when japanese students came to my school, and I got to talk with them in japanese. And then they left, and now I dont have anyone to talk to in japanese. 😔those days.

    im actually happy, with this i feel like i get close to 90% of it, whereas some of the other beginner ones feel like just filling in blanks, and i have to look at the screen to figure it out

    I guess people dont watch the video till the end. There's clearly a wrong translations of phrases from 24:10 until 24:17 but I digress. Doumo Arigatou for the good video.

    I really liked this one. Easy enough to follow along, small scenarios instead of just single sentences (aka comprehensible input) and you also repeated a lot! Repetition is good.
    My only wish is that it would have been at a higher level - I knew pretty much everything in this video. Do you have similar videos but for a more intermediate level? 😃

    this is super helpful! a lot of beginner vids are extremely difficult and def too hard for beginners but this is a great start!

      I totally understand. I’m only a few years older, and I remember struggling with kana and romaji. I really advise to learn kana (at least hiragana) before moving on to conversations like these. Doing that allows you to see helpful patterns.

      Dude not having romaji makes learning hiragana better. Because you are forced to deal with it

      Someone might have already said this, but you should totally learn to read hiragana. If you actually go to Japan, they're not going to have the romaji underneath for you, so it really does help to learn to read and write it! :)

      @@chrisdarcyxx8747 Hello, the problem is that you do not do too much with only Hiragana. Almost ALL what you see in the street use the 3 parts (Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana) all at once. Makes easier stuff even harder.

    It's been such a long time since I originally listened to it, and I listened to it again, and now I'm listening again for at least the third time. By the time I watch it again, I hardly remember what happens, but there's this sentiment to it that I love ;-;
