- I got my very talented font-making friend Ian to share some advice for designing and selling fonts! Hope you find it as useful to hear as I did :) Please remember to subscribe bit.ly/1aE5UOT
Like I say in the video, if you ever see a script font in one of my titles; it was probably designed by this guy! Ian is an amazing calligrapher and font-maker. He has a UA-cam channel too so you should go subscribe.

I'm currently in the process of making my own font. That's why I was so excited to get Ian's advice for the font design process and naming/selling fonts! It's going to be a brush-lettered sans-serif, and it will probably be out early next year. Sign up to hear about it first at charlimarie.com/font

My gorgeous intro animation was created by hand lettering animator Austin Saylor, you should hire him to do yours too: www.austinsaylo...
Two of my favourite designers on UA-cam! Great collab, am definitely going to try and make a font in 2018!
Very cool. The Honest Designers Show is another podcast I listen to. Subscribed to his UA-cam.
Charli... you never fail to amaze! Great video... sans serif seems pretty cool for your 1st font... i hope you can create many more in the future... i will buy them like you buy Ian’s...
Charli this was an amazing video!!! It came at the perfect time. Could I ask you to make more portfolio review videos as well? Those are my favourite:)
What a nice guy - and talented too. Some creatives are so secretive about their working methods.
Great interview love the topic-something I'm working on in between projects. Have you heard of Fontself? I've been using that to create fonts in illustrator.
It's both scary and comforting to know it can take anywhere between over a year, to a couple of weeks to make a font once you know what you're doing! :)
Great video! I’ve thought about creating a font too...I just had one problem, I had a hard time understanding him, will u be outlining this on your website?
OMG! I follow both of you two! Great video!
So my one question is can we make a font which is only the Capital letters and doesn't have a small letter case ?
This is a great video on font styling. It is very helpful advice. It helps on deciding how to create more fonts. But what exactly is the best font software to use? Like on my laptop. I used this app called Fonty and created some fonts. But no idea of how to publish it though.
This is so fascinating! Great chat. (:
What's he does.. to make his fonts..
He hasn't used I pad for it.. so that was interesting.. and to know how he does it.. 4:05
On paper, scanned, illustrator and finally Glyphs
Hi
Not profitable. I mean an ordinary person feels like shopping, oh I think Ill shop for fonts today, be realistic.
Designers and creatives however always feel like getting a new font haha. A product doesn’t have to appeal to everyone to be profitable! :)
